BoxOffice Mojo.

I am so glad Blade2 looks like it flopped. Serves them f*cking right. Go and ruin a movie I was looking forward to, with gratuitous gore.

If you look at the numbers the producers only made around 2-3 millions with the movie ... while LOTR made around 150 millions and spiderman is currently at 80 millioms ... but it's only at the second week.

Here's the most recent Box Office Mojo weekly listing.

Why of course. Estimates show that AoTC only got about $86 million over the weekend, while Spidey picked up about $115 million on it's first weekend. Now, if you throw Thursday in, and account for the fact that Spiderman opened on a Friday (which is a weekend according to Box Office Mojo), and the fact that today (Sunday) was Victoria Day in Canada, then it all works out. I never cared much for Spiderman anyway; I haven't even seen it yet.

Also according to Box Office Mojo, "[Epsiode 2] is estimated by Fox to have raked in $66.7 million through Sunday. If that number holds, it would go down as the biggest international weekend ever, topping the $62.3 million that Harry Potter conjured in early December of last year."

Hm... The stats look pretty good. If you look at those movie stats (linked near top of my post), Spiderman's marketing costs twice as much as Episode 2's; Spidey's marketing costs equal 43% of the production budget of AoTC. Hehe.....
