Guest $iLk Posted September 19, 2002 Report Posted September 19, 2002 Anyone using this? Looks sweet. http://www.3dna.net/products/desktop.htm
AllenKG2001 Posted September 19, 2002 Report Posted September 19, 2002 Downloading it at mo to check it out. Take about 20mins to download.
Raven Posted September 20, 2002 Report Posted September 20, 2002 Nice idea, nice graphics, but otherwise not so hot. The interface is ok, but is focused more on aesthetics then on functionality. Aesthetics are great, I dress for aesthetics, but I want my GUI to be efficient as well as pretty. Maybe it would be fun for kids, or for people who donÔÇÖt really use there computer a lot, but for those of us who are serious users it is just too inefficient. IÔÇÖd also be worried about leaving it on in the background while doing any kind of gaming or high end graphics, the last thing I want is a peace of eye candy wasting system resources while IÔÇÖm playing BCM.
AllenKG2001 Posted September 20, 2002 Report Posted September 20, 2002 I agree. While it was nice for about 5 mins, it's just too long winded to use. I have Windows setup with all my most used programs in a pop up menu on the toolbar and this works best for me I'm affaid.
Epsilon 5 Posted September 20, 2002 Report Posted September 20, 2002 jump on the roof and play the little game. entertaining for about 10 mins. more interesting than the program itself.
Supreme Cmdr Posted September 20, 2002 Report Posted September 20, 2002 I agree. It is just a temporary novelty - more than anything else. Highly unproductive if you ask me.
Guest $iLk Posted September 20, 2002 Report Posted September 20, 2002 The only helpful thing I liked in it was the multiple browser window view, where you could refresh like 12 pages at once... But like everyone says, when I tried it, the novelty wore off in about 5 minutes after a game of PacBall or whatever the hell that game was...
