While I doubt that this will ever get past the Senate, its just frigging scary that something like this even gets this far. Really, I think a lobotomy should become part of the requirements to hold a seat in congress, since congressmen capable of complex thought have this nasty habit of devising the worst possible ideas and signing them into law.

I'm pro-life, but the fetuses that they are wanting to use for research are being thrown away instead of studied anyway. I think it's a waste, and I think that Congress should be diluted into about 8 houses and triple the number of members in each house so they could never get any of their BS shoved into law. But then again when we actually needed them for something they wouldn't get it done... well they don't now anyway so I still support my idea.

Even though I'm from England, if it wasn't for your country's ability to fund into major research, science would probably not be where it is now. I think putting a stop to any sort of research is the most stupid thing ever, we need to discover science and not ban it.

IÔÇÖm not saying that itÔÇÖs bad or anything, it isnÔÇÖt, but itÔÇÖs depressing in a big way. As for stem cell research, IÔÇÖm all for it. It makes no sense to me why it would ever be forbidden, but then a lot of that type of thing makes no sense to me. Oh, and I just love SCÔÇÖs new quote

For those that aeren't aware of it, it was basically a glimpse of a future where government has total control over everything. Definitely not the most pleasent book, but I'd certainly recommend it. And for the less literally inclined there is a movie, though the movie is long and not exactly action packed so it might be hard to sit through. Personally I liked Anthony Burgess's views of the future in books like "A Clockwork Orange" and "The Wanting Seed" if only for thier easier reading, since they're written with a humorous slant.

Well, there's no denying that they sure try like heck to control everything. That silly little Bill of Rights has long been a thorn in the side of policy makers. Of course it seems they find more and more ways around it for the 'good of the people' every day.
