I was so happy and asked my father if i could get it .. then I saw the price $1,375.00!!!!!!!!!!!! ARE THEY NUTZ!!! IM/and my father are NOT WILLING TO PAY THAT MUCH FOR A VIDEO CARD!! The highest we would ever pay for a card is 500 and below! Nvidia!! you better lower that price or I'll park my Astrom right on your door step!!!
Gryphon Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 Kal, my guess is you must've seen the price for an entire system, or perhaps the site owner was smoking de wacky tobacky or something. There's no way in hell it'll be that high. My guess is the top model will be $500 at the most.

The Nvidia Quadro cards are ment for workstations with professional developers working with CAD, etc. The Geforce 3 Quadro card was over $1000, so I'm not surprised this one is as well. The non-quadro default Geforce FX for normal consumers is ment to compete with Radeon's card wich would place it at $500 or less.

Quadro cards are not meant for gamers, guys - and though I've never actually used one, reviews I've read in the past indicate that they do not offer any sort of performance boost in games beyond the top of the line card for that generation.

I'd also guess a $400-$500 starting MSRP for the mainstream GeforceFX, though I'm probably not getting it because I haven't gamed in ages, and don't need it, ATM.
