Redmond, WA - Microsoft today filed papers in Federal District Court alleging that the United States Government is a monopoly. The papers allege that the current government has stifled competition, and has prevented innovation in government, by using its monopoly power to pass laws prohibiting the formation of another Federal government.

I just got class action papers in the mail in a suit against Microsoft by California. The class is anyone who bought a PC in California between 1995 and 2001 that came bundled with MS-DOS, Windows, Word, Excel, Office, and/or Works. There was a settlement and Microsoft offered anyone in the class coupons for any software/hardware anywhere. There was a price list for how much each Office title was worth in coupons.

Any money left over after the class has been paid will go "to the children."

Uh, well, 3000AD could (effectively) be considered a monopoly if you're only considering it's corner of the market - all without buying out the competition and/or running them into the ground
