Sean Michael Breen accused of being one of the leading lights of the notorious game piracy group Razor1911 has been sentenced to over four years in jail by a court in California. Razor1911 was one of the best known and biggest providers of cracked game software online and Breen, 38, pled guilty to mail fraud and copyright infringement. He is apparently the recipient of one of the harshest sentences ever handed down to someone in the "warez" scene online. Breen was apparently involved in other nefarious activities along with pirating games and distributing them online. His conviction also covers cheating Cisco Systems out of hardware worth hundreds of thousands of US dollars. As a result his sentence also includes a restitution payment to Cisco of nearly US$700,000 (SGD$1.17M). His arrest and trial came after the US Customs Service conducted an undercover investigation lasting more than a year. So far the officials say that their operation has enabled them to make a total of 40 arrests around the world.
