Would I be correct in saying the XT is faster in some way? which is the better card in terms of performance? also how does the x800 do...does anyone have one? what is geforce ultra card is the comparable option to the radeon 9800.
Guest Fox__Trot Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 the x800 *Drool* -- I've got an 9800xt its in my high end rig (dual p4's 3.0's) and runs far cry cranked to maximum detail levels with absolutely no slowdowns (it would slowdown on my primary rig *check out the specs in my profile* when I was in an area with LOTS of shadows and gunfires and people saying "You want more of this I got more of this!") -- okay I lost the flow of that paragraph so long story short 1.the rig in this profile would slowdown in heavly shadowed areas. 2.The highend righ with the 9800xt wouldnt slow down Still I would wait to upgrade youre video card until the DAY hl2 or doom3 releases then I'd go for the biggest baddest mofo at you're local best buy then I'd run away screaming like a crazed lunatic -- oh yeha the x800 thats right Yes it is just check out the reviews - It'll be worth it http://www.anandtech.com/video/index.html
Cruis.In Posted June 3, 2004 Author Report Posted June 3, 2004 I think ill get the radeon 9800 pro that comes with the computer ill buy. then later on get the x800 and maybe by then there'll be a price drop.
