CQ Field day!! Yes, it is that time of year again, where I pack up my wife, kids, the dog, the camping gear and as much ham equipment as I can carry, and off to Ft Flagler on the Washington Peninsula for 5 days of camping, ham radio and emergency communications practice. I am again in charge of the Mike and Keys 15 meter station, so, if you are near a ham radio, listen up for K7LED from 11:00 AM PDT Saturday, to 11:00 AM PDT Sunday. We will be on the air and rolling until the exercise ends. So, I will be gone from tomorrow, until Sunday night, but probably won't be back until Monday night. Wish us luck, we are hoping to break some records this year, but with the propagation report, our chances are not looking all that good... CQ Field DAY!!!! 73's QRZ and see ya then!! Ham's do it until their gigahertz.......
Guest Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Field Day was A BALL!!! As usual. 15 meter, which is the band that I am in charge of, did over 977 contacts, almost a new club record, need 1200 to break the record of 12 years ago. We had contacts as varied as Hawaii to Puerto Rico to Havannah Cuba, it was incredible and SC, we were talking to Southern and Central Florida ALL day long. We had a ball, did our emergency service exercise for the year, and NOT 1 mishap. It went off without a hitch, Murphy was on vacation this year!!! Now, time for me to go unload the van, get a shower, because I am STINKY!!! And then go to bed!!
