Scrivener Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 So today I had my face-to-face interview with the guy from Sony (this was the 3rd interview). I think it went pretty well. It really seemed like one of those interviews where they just try to size you up and get a handle on your personality. No trick questions or anything like that. Just discussing the job, what it's about, and some Q&A (mostly me asking the questions). I should hear back in about a week. If he decides to persue me for the position, I'll have ONE MORE interview with his boss. All in all, I think it went really well... and the interview list this time is very small (about 5 people, I think). I should hear back from him in about a week. Give me your prayers and thoughts, guys. I really need this job. The one down side: I have to take a qtr off of school (starting immediately) and switch to night classes. I was planning on doing this anyway next qtr, so it's not a big deal. But I'd have to negotiate with the school to not lose my money for classes this qtr (ie- roll the tuition over to next qtrs night classes). Fortunately, this is more of a career move than a job. Sony is a great company to work for considering my filmmaking aspirations.

Scrivener Posted October 20, 2004 Author Report Posted October 20, 2004 So I decided not to go to school today - with the rain+accidents, I wasn't keen to sitting on the freeway for 3 hours to get to school. Wow, I just threw up, while typing this. Out of nowhere. I was, like 100% A-Ok peachy keen one instant then all of a sudden I felt really ill, had to run to the bathroom. Aw man, this is not good... and I still feel pretty good. That's BIZARRE, I havn't ralphed since I was, like, 9. So anyway, I just got a phone call from the Sony Recruiter giving me a heads up that the guy in charge wants another interview with me later this afternoon. W00t! If I understood the last interview correctly, this means I'm pretty much hired. Oh man, I hope that phantom sickness thing just now was just a freak accident. I don't need that today.

Talk about outrageously bad luck - you'd think my life is a freaking Lampoon movie Why do I keep finding myself in situations that you wouldn't even see on TV because of how ridiculously unbelievable they are. Maybe I'm the reincarnation of Hitler and Karma is coming to bite me in the ass? Sheesh. UPDATE: Whew, the interview went really well I think (despite feeling terribly ill). *crosses fingers* Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts. I should hear yay or nay in about another week.
