Manhattan is Crumbling

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS (CBS) A stone retaining wall along the Henry Hudson Parkway in upper Manhattan has collapsed, burying parked cars under a massive mound of dirt, trees and debris. It happened during a mud slide at 1380 Riverside Drive, at West 181 Street in Washington Heights.

I live a few blocks from there. Luckily, no ones been injured (as of yet there is a lot of debris to shift through). If you look at the pics the lighter square area (right side mid-top) is a childs playground and the collapse came so close. It could have been a nasty disaster. Very, very lucky. The entire area near there's been evacuated (since there's still danger of more dirt sliding down). If it reaches the buildings, egads!!!

Turns out that the property owners have been aware of the wall problem for some time and only till pics were taken last week or so showing a nasty crack did they contact an engineering firm but still nothing was done.

All I keep hearing now is emergency vehicles and news choppers.
