Cruis. In Posted May 21, 2005 Report Posted May 21, 2005 which one do you use, if any? which ones are good... here is one I came across... just need you guys opinion first... it found 307 :errors: in my registry. http://www.3bsoftware.com/tproduct/registryrepair/rr05.html
Shadow5731 Posted May 21, 2005 Report Posted May 21, 2005 I myself, tend not to use any repair programs, mostly just keep up on the HD maintenance and Windows errors with Norton Utilities...the rest seems to keep going fine here...well, until I make a mistake typing in a program and start wiping files by accident
Marc Wubbema Posted May 22, 2005 Report Posted May 22, 2005 Norton Windocter cleans up errors in your registry (as well as other things) For cleaning up the registry from spyware, ad-ware and malware i use 2 programs called "Ad-Aware" and "Spybot Search and Destroy"
Papi Posted May 22, 2005 Report Posted May 22, 2005 For cleaning up the registry I use free RegSeeker , works fine for me. You may tweak the tool to act the way you want. To get info/alter how my computer starts up, I use Starup Inspector. To clean temp files etc. I use Empty Temp Folders And finally to add to what Wubbema said I use SpywareBlaster to prevent all that adware etc. getting into my computer. All these tools are free and works fine.
Supreme Cmdr Posted May 22, 2005 Report Posted May 22, 2005 I use a combination of all three of these whenever I need to clean my registry. I do this - religiously - once a week on all my machines. Norton SystemWorks 2005 (contains WinDoctor) JV16 Powertools 2005 Registry Medic Window Washer
TARWMSRK Posted May 22, 2005 Report Posted May 22, 2005 Check out: Crap Cleaner I work on about 30 student laptops every week and I install this program on most of their machines. Its free, small, quick to install, and easy to use. Combine this with adaware and whatever antivirus you use and you are good to go.
