Hurrican Katrina - SC Hope You Are Okay.

Seems Katrina gave Ft. Lauderdale a good 1-2 punch. Well you would know that personally. Just hope all is well.

Great to hear. Was watching the news last night before I posted this thread. I was like dang. Trees, power lines, lots of rain think they said about 15" more due at the time. 4 people dead (mostly from falling trees). Most of the warnings were for the downed power lines and to stay indoors (well duh ). The first thought when I heard Ft. Lauderdale was oh no I hope SC bunkered down with life rafts on the ready. Lots of fun pulling a titanic on land.

She jumped the peninsula, supercharged in the Gulf, and is now a Category 4 storm headed toward New Orleans and tracking suggests she will go up through Mississippi.

i feel sorry for the folks holed up in the new orleans super dome. was just watching CNN and one of their reporters inside the dome said a decent sized piece of roof was coming up and he could see light, and rain is just comin on in...

One of the "Perks" of living in South Florida, is that even though we have a lot of Hurricanes, we have the strictest building code on the East Coast and quite possibly the entire country, so even though we get pounded every once in a while, we're pretty much prepared for it. So I really feel sorry for the people in Luisianna, Texas and Alabama, because when they get hit, there is SERIOUS destruction.

yikes... definitely feel bad for those folks in new orleans. one of the levees that helps to hold back lake ponchetrain is breached... its bad enough that about 80% of the city (according to the mayor) is flooded out, now they gotta worry about the lake.

you can donate thru FEMA to the volunteer agencies. and i did hear on the news the other day that they were taking donations.

now as for the red cross, yes even my 8 year old knows he can make a donation to the red cross. so now ill add thank you mr redundancy.

and as for my spirit, you dont live here. you can only guess at how i feel about my friends down in the area that i havent heard from yet. the thing i hate the most is someone telling me how i feel, or should feel... and theyre not even from my own country.
