This thread is for after action reports from Fleet Action MP matches. They don't have to be in the format given below, they can be more roleplaying in style or more informal, they just need to give people an idea of what went on in the match from your perspective.

From: Strategic Commander Ben Zwycky

To: Tacops Commander Randy Karynia

Subject: Limited skirmish with Insurgent forces

Wraith's forces were spread thin, only two craft remained available in the system when the intel burst came in, the GCV Args, a Starcruiser-class heavy cruiser under the command of Commander Ixos and the GCV Svoboda, a Violon-class heavy carrier commanded by Strategic Commander Ben Zwycky, taking part in a joint CIOPS/wraith operation at the time. According to the intel, Spectre Fleet were attempting to consolidate their position in one of two regions by colonising the planet, so thin defenses were spread even thinner, The Args patrolling in Procon while the Svoboda watched Somaris.

After a period of calm, Commander Ixos reported Insurgent vessels entering his region from Tapestran, a Tarin mk1 armed transport and an escorting Sunflash class heavy cruiser, both fast and nimble craft for their type, but the transport with a relatively low cargo capacity. Strategic Commander Zwycky immediately ordered his vessel to Procon, but it had only just emerged from a routine patrol hyperspace at the time and was still 2 jumps away, so Commander Ixos would have to handle things on his own for a while. The Sunflash immediately engaged him, buying the transport precious seconds to recharge it's hyperdrive and jump to the planet, successfully making planetfall and unloading it's cargo.

Commander Ixos successfully destroyed the escort vessel, but took heavy engine damage in the process and was forced to scuttle the ship after an orderly evacuation of his crew back to the station by shuttlecraft, where he picked up a new vessel of the same type and jumped back to the entry point the insurgent forces had used.

The second wave of Insurgent forces re-used the successful formula of their first wave, with similar results- the escort craft was lost, though this time with no damage to the Args, which jumped after the transport, but too late to prevent it successfully breaching the planet's atmosphere. By this time the Svoboda was in the region, though too late to influence the outcome of this engagement.

The Svoboda jumped to the jumpgate between Procon and Tapestran and set itself up in time to intercept the third wave, taking out the transport with a lethal missile barrage.

The Svoboda and Args then set up a heavy blockade around the jumpgate, taking out wave after wave of Insurgent craft, who could not find a way through, until Insurgent forces apparently abandoned their plans.

The troops that were landed are not sufficiently well supplied to last long under the harsh conditions on the planets surface, and the Insurgents are well enough positioned to gather forces for a reinforcement convoy, so we are currently utilising our special forces units to ensure that the transports that did make it through were only Pyrrhic victories.

From: Fleet Admiral ShoHashi

To: Insurgent High Command

Subject: Operation Planetfall

To consolidate our position in the Nevuela system, it was determined that we needed to land an assault force on the home planet to establish a base of operations.

To accomplish this, we needed to land 140,000 units of cargo to include Marines. I wanted to select the best ships for the mission, thus the Sunflash was selected for escort and Tarin mk1s were selected for the cargo. In hindsight, I should have went with MRT-15s, however none were available in the timeframe needed.

The mission orders, based upon the selected ships, were to land 7 Tarin mk1s on the surface. Each Tarin mk1 would be escorted by a Sunflash.

The first Tarin mk1 made it the the surface, however the escort Sunflash was destroyed trying to pull away a Wraith fleet vessel that had jumped into the region.

A second Tarin mk1 and it's escort Sunflash was dispatched. The second Tarin mk1 made it to the surface and the second Sunflash was destroyed in the process of attacking the Wraith vessel.

A third wave was again dispatched to the planet but both Insurgent vessels were destroyed by the Wraith vessel blockading the jump gate. Before the Sunflash was destroyed, the Commander sent an up-to-date sitrep.

At that time, it was determined that the mission would not be successful so the decision was made to cease Operation Planetfall.

Unfortunately, at the moment, we have a contingent of Marines on the surface with no way off the planet. Plans are being drawn up on how we can evacuate them.

From: Fleet Admiral ShoHashi

To: Insurgent High Command

Subject: Wraith Incursion in Rovarix Region

I've just received a communique from StarStation Antilles in the Rovarix region. They reported that one of the two Interdictor medium fighters that were on patrol detected a cloaked ship in the region.

While one of the Interdictors was trying to pinpoint where the cloaked vessel was, a Tarin Mk1 transport, the GVC-Echelon, entered the region. At that time the other Interdictor moved to intercept and engage the Tarin Mk1. Just as it neared the transport, another Wraith vessel entered the system and engaged the Interdictor thus destroying it. More Interdictors were launched from Antilles as the Tarin Mk1 moved away from the gate to establish an orbit around Rovarix and all were destroyed by the escorting Wraith vessel.

After orbiting Rovarix for a few minutes, the Tarin Mk1 then started to move away from the planet and towards the gate. More Interdictors were launched and again, all were destroyed before the Wraith vessels finally left the region.

Station logs show that the Wraith vessels involved in this incursion were the GVC-Svoboda, GVC-Echelon and the GCV-Args. At this time, our intelligence believes that the Tarin Mk1 either beamed someone down to the surface or beamed someone aboard. More information will be available upon further analysis of the Antilles sensor logs.

From: Fleet Commander Case

To: Tacops Commander Randy Karynia

Subject: Wraith Special Operations Mission - TrueLight

I am pleased to report the complete success of mission TrueLight.

Commanders Ixos, Ben Zwycky, and myself departed from the Eterna station inbound to the planet in the Rovarix region to deploy a sabotage team against the Insurgent base there. This tactical plan was developed by Strategic Commander Zwycky and flawlessly executed by all members. I have promoted Commander Ixos to security level 4 after his excellent performance during the course of this mission.

The following ships were utilized for this mission:

Violon Heavy Carrier - Strategic Commander Ben Zwycky

Starcruiser Heavy Cruiser - Commander Ixos

Tarin Mk1 Armed Transport - Strategic Commander Case

The Violon carrier piloted by Ben Zwycky cloaked and entered the Rovarix region undetected, while Ixos proceeded to the jumpgate and awaited for a situation report from Zwycky. I stayed within range of the Eterna's station defenses to ensure my transport remained protected.

After jumping into the Rovarix system, Ben Zwycky proceeded to orbit the planet while reporting on the presence of two Interdictor medium fighters patrolling the space around the starstation Antilles. Once Ben was in position, he reported that he was still undetected by the patrolling fighters. I then proceeded to jump to Ixos, and then jump to the hostile Rovarix system. Ixos followed me in immediately to provide fire support. At this point, Ben de-cloaked, and I jumped to the GVC-Svoboda and proceeded to deploy our sabotage team.

After the successful deployment of the sabotage team, I plotted a course back to the Eterna station, where I arrived safely without damage.

During the course of this mission, three Interdictor medium fighters were destroyed. Commander Ixos claimed one kill, and Strategic Commander Ben Zwycky claimed two kills.

With the success of this mission, the Insurgents will be unable to use their cloaking technology until they find out what we have done and fix the damage done by our sabotage team. I recommend that we take full advantage of this temporary weakness before it can be corrected.

From: Fleet Admiral ShoHashi

To: Insurgent High Command

Subject: ISS Ground Assault

Our outpost on Treas has reported that they have repulsed an attempt by ISS to assault the planet.

During the course of the assault there was a lot of casualties on both sides. A lot of heroic deeds were performed by Insurgents during the defense of the outpost.

A list of Insurgents and their commendations will be forwarded shortly for the review of the IHC.

----GNN Breaking News----

In an alarming turn of events, The trader station in Darain has been taken over by the Gammulan Empire, coinciding with Gammulan fleet movements reaching that region. Initial reports are sketchy, but it appears that a large number of covert Gammulan agents had entered the station via a front corporation, which also established the foundations of a base on the planet under guise of a mining colony. The arriving Gammulan fleet appears to have left additional forces behind to secure the region Galcom defensive forces have been placed on full alert and are moving to establish fortified buffer zones around Galcom space. Citizens are advised to report any suspicious activities to their local authority immediately.

----GNN Breaking News----

In a disastrous turn of events, Starpath Station in Mars has fallen to the Gammulan Empire. Gammulan fleet forces outmanouvered Galcom forces and were able to launch a surprise attack in the Mars region, overwhelming the station's defensive forces before a Galcom fleet could arrive to assist. Reports are coming in that defensive patrol forces were able to take out a Gammulan command ship in the process, but this appeared not to weaken the Gammulan resolve, who have subsequently landed troop transports on the Martian surface, deploying mobile forward bases, vehicles and aircraft. Galcom military spokesmen assure us that the Gammulan hold on the station is not complete, resistance fighters remain on board and Mars-based Galcom ground and air troops are on their way to repel the Gammulan ground assault, so the conflict is far from over.

Our analysts inform us that the station resistance fighters are most likely low on supplies and should the planet fall before a Galcom fleet force arrives, the station is almost certain to fall shortly afterwards.

Martian citizens are advised to evacuate major metropolitan areas, moving their families to designated bunkers where available.

Stay tuned for more updates as they happen.
