  1. I'm at work right now but I had my server up last night for several hours. The new chat dialog box is awesome, makes it much easier to see the messages and not miss any. My server was up for about 4 hours without a single crash. There were some issues that I saw while in the game and have relayed them to Remo for further testing tonight. All in all the improvments are great!
  2. SC, if that is the only issue then I would make it available. I've had my server down (Prime Fleet East) due to some of the issues that you now have fixed. Releasing it now will give us a chance to test other items. We really could not test too much planetside in FP due to the one issue with the Cmdr's missing texture. Also with the sync issue out of the way we will be able to jump to other regions without any problems. Besides I am very interested to see what you have done with the chat log system.
  3. The Server op can tell who is in the game by looking at his log files or if he also in the game by looking at the Comm Link files. He can determine which race/caste the player has entered as with this information. As far as keeping "jerks" out of the game just set up a password for the server and that will solve that. My server is behind a firewall and I also have the ability to prevent a player from entering the game by removing his IP from my trusted sites.
  4. Fly135, Go back to ID3-TagIT in the middle window where your songs are listed you will see the following Filename Subdirectory Ver1 Ver2 If they are not listed, then select the directory where you stored your music from the menu on the extreme left. If the songs that you are trying to put into UC still show a tag in the Ver2 box it must be removed. It will only work in UC if it has a ver1 tag only. To remove the ver2 tag highlight the song that you want to change, right click to bring up the pop-up window and select "Tag Ver2 Functions" then click "Remove Tag Ver2", save it and you're done. Once you have done this successfully your songs will play in UC. If you're still having problems after reading this send me a PM and I'll see what I can do.
  5. quote: By the way, what method did you use to get your mine bay down to 62%? Just attack someone and hoped they damaged it? No, you send your AE into a fighter, launch it and fire on your own CC. Not a normal thing to do but it's the only way to get controlled testing.
  6. As a follow up, I did additional testing. I damaged my Mine Launch Bay down to 62%, I then docked at Genesis and was able to replace this part and had the engineers install it without any problems. Conclusion, I found no issue with the replacement or repair of the Mine Launch Bay. Testing was done using the MK3 Battlecruiser.
  7. I had no problem replacing a weapons pod by the method that I described above. Station engineers would not replace the part but my crew did. I'll do some testing and see if I can get the mine launcher damaged and see what happens.
  8. Did you try to replace it using your own engineers. If not try it, launch from the station go to logistix select the mine launcher and then replace. Let us know if that works.
  9. I tried adding my BCM compatible Music files into the UC music folder and I found that they do not work in their present state. Here is what it did to get them to work: First I converted them to 256kbps (same as Vanethian's pieces)using MusicMatch then I converted its tag from ver2.3 to ver1.0 (Vanethian's were ver1.0)using ID3 - TagIT and had no problem adding them to my UC music folder. Might be an easier way but it worked for me. Follow Up: Make sure you remove the ver2.3 tag or it will not work. Should have a ver1.0 tag only. [ 02-16-2004, 09:58 PM: Message edited by: Gordon ]
  10. Try it with CBR (constant bit rate) vs. VBR (variable bit rate) and see if it helps. I used MusicMatch with BCM and had no problems, at present I have not added any of them to UC.
  11. quote: LOL, fair enough. I think I'll go swab the deck now. After you're done with the deck we have an airlock waiting for you to clean.
  12. quote: Also, There a cheap way to get Plutonium and Radine? I run out real fast and am too new to learn trade routes yet. Start by deploying drones and sell the minerals at the local base. If you don't know how to deploy and retrieve your drones by setting waypoints for the shuttles I would suggest that you get to the manual and learn how. You can also collect cargo pods and sell their contents. This will earn enough credits to get you going. Trade routes are still the quickest way to make money, but this will suffice for now. p.s. This type of stuff belongs in the "Noob" Emporium
  13. Cloaked Ships would have contrails when they are moving.
  14. Maybe you two got the game that Derek coded to shoot rubber bullets. Seriously, so far it seems to be just the two of you that have the problem. No one else is claming this. Also, in order for the beta testers to help you it would be nice to see your system specs. Neither of you have created a link so we can see what system and drivers your rig has.
  15. bcm.exe = single player executable bcmg.exe = multiplayer executable
  16. Hi Echo, I also agree with Chavik and Dreadx about having a local shop build you a machine vs. buying a package model. You are paying for their advertising as much as their computer, much better to put that extra money into quality components. Installing the Zip drive into the new computer should be no problem but the printer may have compatibility issues if your old o/s was not Windows XP. Check the manufacturers website to see if they have drivers for your model to work with Windows XP.Flat panel monitors are nice but currently they are expensive, might be best to hold off for now and wait for prices to drop. This way you can use the extra $ for memory, drives and other add-ons. The motherboard should also be chosen carefully, will it allow a faster CPU chip or added ram memory sometime in the future. Besides who's better to lead you in the right direction, a shop owner who builds machines for a living or some kid working for minimum wage to pay for college.
  17. You must have a rank of Stategic Commander or above to have Fleet C&C, this means that you need to have at least 50,000 EP's For more info on this read the appendix that came with the game (in the BCMG docs folder).

    Website?

Remo, I have sent a donation to help keep Prime fleet up and running, keep up the excellent work.
  19. Sorry to hear about your situation Race. I'm sure that things will turn around for you. It happened to me 14 years ago and I was feeling just about how you're probably feeling right now. All I can say is try to keep your spirits up. For me, I look back at that day and realize that is was the best thing that could have happened to me. The company that I was let go from sucked and I found a much better job making more money. Of course at the time it happened I was unable to see that and wanted to beat the president of the company to a pulp. I was let go right after I purchased a new house and my wife had just given birth to our second child. Things have a way of working themselves out just try not to let it get you down. The fact that you had other offers while you were working at that job should give you some encouragement. From reading your various posts I can tell that you are level headed and should have a better job in no time. Best of luck and keep us posted.
  20. Remo, You can count me in also, just send me a PM with where and how much, I'd be glad to help out with the expense of keeping the site up and running. One person should not have to bear the cost for the good of the Fleet.
  21. Eversor, the shuttles are most likely colliding with each other, if you deploy all your shuttles at the same time you will increase the chances that they will collide. Try deploying them one at a time and wait until their shields are raised and on their way before deploying the next one. It may take you a few more seconds to get them all launched but you will find this will decrease their chances of colliding with each other. This proceedure will give you less dead marines and damage to your shuttles.
