  1. How about a Sinclair Quantum Leap? 1972'ish Motorola 68000 chip, no memory to speak of. Used a color VGA monitor. Twin 512K tape storage devices. (About the size of a matchbook) Wrote my first Basic Program on it. ------------------ Cmdr H. T. Wolferz GCV-Kentucky, GALCOMHQ (EARTH) Prime Fleet - Beta Wing
  2. Congrats and good luck in that endeavor, Cruis. At the end of basic training with Uncle Sam's Boy Scouts, I could turn 2 miles in 14 minutes. I was 33 at the time and had smoked most of my life, so you should be able to do 1.5 miles in 9 minutes if you're young and strong. In basic, we used to jog about 5 miles every morning until we were in better shape, then it was run run run, Indian Death runs etc etc. And you feel good afterwards amazingly enough. Just don't forget to stretch before and after. Oh, and you never ever address a Drill Sergeant as sir! Unless you like beating your face on the pavement. I helped push Fort Leonard Wood to China and back. ------------------ Cmdr H. T. Wolferz GCV-Kentucky, GALCOMHQ (EARTH) Prime Fleet - Beta Wing
  3. Impressive is the only word that comes to mind after seeing those shots. WOW! Kind of reminds of a little fish in a BIG ocean. I wonder what they will look like splattered on my shield array? [This message has been edited by Wolferz (edited 10-28-2000).]
  4. Most of the space sims out there now are too stuctured for my tastes. I never really enjoyed trying to follow a scripted set of missions. Kill x number of enemy craft then move on to the next level. That kind of sim is aimed more toward the younger generation, tweens and very young teenagers. BCM has it all. A thinking man's game. Something different everytime you fire it up. Now with the coming of multiplayer, turn it up a notch. Playing against other humans is a far cry from playing against the AI. The SC did a supreme (naturally) job of coding the best AI I've flown against, but humans add that unpredictability factor that causes sphincter factor 11 ( On a scale of 1 to 10 ) ) A well orchestrated strike by a wing of BC's, with savvy Cmdrs. will be devastating to say the least. I also enjoy flying multiplayer WWII combat aircraft. But that's a horse of a different color altogether. ------------------ Cmdr H. T. Wolferz GCV-Kentucky, GALCOMHQ (EARTH) Prime Fleet - Beta Wing
  5. Submitting signature for approval. Looking forward to flying with Prime Fleet. ------------------ Cmdr H. T. Wolferz GCV-Kentucky, GALCOMHQ (EARTH) Prime Fleet - Beta Wing
  6. Greetings and Salutations, As an FNG who has just recently discovered this title, I am proud to join the ranks of the elite. I have always been a fan of Space Sims, (many of which adorn my Wall of Shame) but this one is right up my alley. The only other sim that even came close to my approval was Imperium Galactica. BCM catapults the premise in that game to a new height. ( I'm getting a nosebleed ) Thrusters to maximum, prepare for hyperjump, watch your scanners folks, I'm here ... to stay! SC, your approval is much appreciated. Thanks Wolferz (Awaiting Prime Fleet approval and designator) GCV Kentucky [This message has been edited by Wolferz (edited 10-20-2000).]
