  1. Speaking of Weber and his universe(s), I'd really like to see a RMN SD firing full broadsides complete with full missile pods at GHQ. Talk about framerate slowdown! ------------------ Commander Benjamin Somerset GCV Swiftsure, Wraith HQ (Lyrius) Wing Leader - Wraith Fleet/SIN Wing Stealth is the only thing between you, and your enemy's guns.
  2. Wold, The Logistix computer is still functioning. In page one, this is how Somerset manages to ascertain damage to the ship, and the best way to effect repairs. Just though you should know. ------------------ Commander Benjamin Somerset GCV Swiftsure, Wraith HQ (Lyrius) Wing Leader - Wraith Fleet/SIN Wing Stealth is the only thing between you, and your enemy's guns.
  3. Answer; 1&2) Not much. Protomatter is an unstable substance, which is why the Genesis Device never went beyond the prototype stage. But to act as a planet destroying device, Genesis should be able to be cheaply built and used. Even though SW "super-weapons" like the Death Star can be used to destroy entire planets, ST ships should be perfectly capable of eliminating all life on the surface of the planet. It's only that the Federations ideals and values prevent any such action from taking place. In TOS "Mirror, Mirror" the Enterprise was ordered to destroy the Halkan civilization if they did not comply with the Empire's demands. Which would suggest that any ST ship can pose as much of a threat as a Death Star. Minus TIE fighters, of course. But with their small lasers, even swarming Federations ships, I doubt they would pose a threat. Suntana; You're thinking of TNG's The Pegasus. A phased-cloaking device like the one onboard the Pegasus, or any other cloaking device, were banned by the Treaty of Algeron. Violation of the Treaty was considered an act of treason, as shown at the end of the episode. Since it was illegal, it is reasonable to assume that Federation starships wouldn't carry data on either the construction or function of a phase-cloak because the information would be in violation of a Treaty the Federation signed in good faith. I also believe that your E-A data is inaccurate. The TNGTM recognizes that the E-D is only equipped with 275 photon torpedo casings. Since the E-D conceiveably 2 times the mass of the E-A, I seriously doubt that the E-A was equipped with more photon torpedoes. As for the photon torpedoes, the first time the E-D encountered the Borg, in QPid (I think), they were able to blow huge chunks out of the Borg cube, and cause heavy damage. They are matter-antimatter explosives, after all. Unfortunately for them the Borg were able to regenerate and adapt their capabilites to extremely reduce the effects of the photon torpedo by the next time the Borg encountered the Federation in Best of Both Worlds, Parts I and II. ------------------ Commander Benjamin Somerset GCV Swiftsure, Wraith HQ (Lyrius) Wing Leader - Wraith Fleet/SIN Wing Stealth is the only thing between you, and your enemy's guns.
  4. I must agree with Gallion. Phaser arrays with multiple firing arcs, capability to launch up to 10 photon torpedoes simultaneously, and weapons range at maximum of over 3.5 million kilometers make a MkIII mincemeat. ------------------ Commander Benjamin Somerset GCV Swiftsure, Wraith HQ (Lyrius) Wing Leader - Wraith Fleet/SIN Wing Stealth is the only thing between you, and your enemy's guns.
  5. Thank you for the compliment. Yes, I'm combining a little bit of ST and a little bit of Honor Harrington. I've been a big fan of ST since I was little, but I've found that HH suits me much better. Somerset has always been a Horatio Hornblower like character, and Harrington is also based on the same makeup. I absolutely love the way Weber writes, so I did what any decent writer does. "Borrowed" his style. I appreciate the compliment. Feels nice to know someone enjoys your work. ------------------ Commander Benjamin Somerset GCV Swiftsure, Wraith HQ (Lyrius) Wing Leader - Wraith Fleet/SIN Wing Stealth is the only thing between you, and your enemy's guns.
  6. [RP] 1145hrs, 19 May, 3008 SS Vulture Main Engineering To an outsider, Engineering would have looked like it was in the middle of a major overhaul. To those trying to repair her many damaged systems, it was more like a nightmare. Pieces of bulkhead were strewn about as every access panel lay open. A slight smoky mist still hung in the air, along with the smell of burnt equipment. At the center of the nightmare, Benjamin Somerset was hastily trying to repair the broken ship. Thankfully, Logistix was still functioning so he could know exactly what was wrong with the ship. And at the moment, Somerset saw more red than he did green as he checked on the ship's status. Engines were still functioning, barely. Until he effected more proper repairs, the ship wouldn't be able to get above 500mps, much less use her hyperdrive. The gravity stabilizer had been badly damaged in the attack, with almost half the components burnt out. Routing around that would give them 775mps, and the use of their hyperdrive. They wouldn't be able to use maximum acceleration, but it was better than nothing. Save for the fact that when Somerset reviewed the ships specs, he noticed it had been "modified" with a military grade drive. Under good circumstances she should be able to accelerate to 1.1kps. Which would make her capable of a good run against a warship, especially with their reduced hyperdrive recharge times. But to get maximum capability, he really needed a new gravity stabilizer. In addition to a new reactor link. Logistix showed that the reactor link was showing stress fractures. And if it went, Engineering would be flooded with drive plasma. Needless to say, that was a very bad thing. Patching it wouldn't be too difficult, but with a patch job there would be no guarantees. Though if it failed, no one in Engineering would live long enough to worry about it. Or anyone else for that matter, if it burned through the reactor casing. He had managed to ascertain that some of the damage to the engines had not been caused by the Gammulans, but instead by whomever was piloting the ship. He may not have cracked the reactor link, but he was the one who burnt out most of the grav stabilizer, and almost blew the inertial compensator. The inertial compensator was what kept the crew from being turned into jelly whenever the ship accelerated. A sudden shift, like afterburners or hyperdrive, under normal circumstances would not be a problem. But with a malfunctioning intertial compensator, people were as likely to end up as a stain on the aft bulkhead as they were to live through the experience. What he really needed was another whole engineering crew, and about 20 hours to make the ship combat-capable again. At least, as combat capable as a modified transport could be. Unfortunately, he didn't have either. Which meant he simply had to jury-rig the ship into something workable. They were lucky that Somerset, in his younger days, had spent two years as a Chief Engineer. He ordered four of the remaining people to start working on sealing the reactor link fractures, three to start work on routing around the grav stabilizer, two to repair the faulty components of the compensator, and the rest to attend to the other assorted malfunctions. Somerset himself dived into the grav stabilizer, eyes burning as they encountered still smoldering parts. "Spanner," he said to one of the engineers. He looked at the piece in the cramped space and cursed silently. "Get me two Alpha-7 jumpers, and 1.5 meters of mag insulated cabling. Once we get around this fried node, there'll be 3 more to go. After that, we should have hyper back on line." That was when his commlink beeped at him. Somerset's head came up, and struck the top of the conduit he was trying to work in. "Damn," he cursed. He twisted around in the small space and activated his commlink. "What!" he said disgustedly. "This is Reynolds on the bridge, sir. Um...Fleet Commander Savage wants an update, sir. He wants to know how long until we can get underway." "Hard to tell. The grav stabilizer is just about shot, and the compensator looks like it's barely hanging together. If you can give me 2 or 3 hours, I should be able to cobble enough together to get the compensator back up, 775mps, and hyperdrive. There won't be any max accel, top speed, or a normal hyper recharge time. At least, normal for this ship. I can have sensors, comms, shields, and PTA up in half an hour. Their problems are software related, and I've got a couple of people putting in replacement datachips right now." "That's very good, sir. The Fleet Commander will be relieved to hear that." "If he can give me 5 or 6 hours, I can have the engines back up to almost full capacity. There's too much damage to get this bucket up to her best, though. And you can thank the pilot up there for half of our problems. He's the one who burned out the stabilizer, and almost gave us compensator failure." "I'll be sure to do that, sir. I should let you get back to work. Reynolds, out." "Damn right you should let me get back to work," he said, making sure no one else was looking as he said "these mercs couldn't put this bucket back together with fifteen Academy engineering professors, complete technical documents, and fully automated droids on a good day." The comm beeped again. "WHAT!" Somerset shouted. "Sir, we're about to get assistance from a UCV Leo. They're going to send over some engineers, and replacement components. What do you need?" "I've got a list stored in a datapad. I'll send it up to you." He looked at the merc who had just delievered his parts and said "Go get the datapad from the Master Situation Monitor, and run it up to the bridge." The merc hesitated, which pushed Somerset's frayed nerves a little too far. "NOW, DAMN YOU!" The merc sprang up to attention, then began running toward the pad. "AND DON'T TAKE ALL BLOODY DAY GETTING BACK HERE!" Somerset yelled to the mercs back. Once he had gotten the datapad, the merc came back toward Somerset as he headed for the hatch. He stopped momentarily, stiffened to attention, saluted, and said "Aye, aye, sir." He then turned and ran out the hatch. The things one has to do to get things done around here... Somerset sighed to himself. "The parts list is on the way," he said politely. "Somerset out." And with that, he dove back into the stabilizer, and instead of fixing the broken pieces, began yanking it out. [RP] Blades, I'll leave it up to you as to how long repairs take now that the Leo is here to assist. I didn't want to step on anyone's feet by using Rattler, so I used Reynolds instead. Hope that's all right. Besides, the last person who Somerset would want to talk to would be Insurgent One. ------------------ Commander Benjamin Somerset GCV Swiftsure, Wraith HQ (Lyrius) Wing Leader - Wraith Fleet/SIN Wing Stealth is the only thing between you, and your enemy's guns. 7. Or The Apocalypse series, detailing the Gammulan Incrusion of 3000. Things have certainly changed since those days... Caine; As far as the Vesperon's, I think I'm the only one so far who has a Vesperon who plays an important role on the ship. At one time DeSylva remarked that Soran sounded much like "someone else with pointed ears", referring to Spock. He is correct in how I portray the character. Inherently logical, willing to debate (logically of course) with anyone on board. Of course, Soran may also not be a typical Vesperon in his views. They may be culturally or regionally based. So far, I haven't really described his appearance, but I personally believe from the docs that Vesperon are humanoid. They may have some feline characteristics, but I've never envisioned them with a tail. How far the fur goes is probably up to personal preference. As for marriage, Soran hasn't selected a mate...yet. Steve; I would probably suggest sticking with the GalCom Police Forces, or something similar. Also, the ship designation (GCV, ECV, ICV, UCV) has been a hot issue in the past. The SC doesn't easily tolerate violations of this. As such, I'd stick with GCV or UCV. Otherwise, ye might be askin' for the SC's wrath. And Gallion can tell you that one should do one's best to avoid it. ------------------ Commander Benjamin Somerset GCV Swiftsure, Wraith HQ (Lyrius) Wing Leader - Wraith Fleet/SIN Wing Stealth is the only thing between you, and your enemy's guns. 8. Steve; Indeed creating a new designation would be a considerable no-no. Also a minor no-no (which I myself committed in the past) is referring to a Galactic Command Navy. The SC has stated that there is no such entity. I've always wondered instead if there was a Stellar/Space/Interstellar Navy, or other designation for the Fleet, since the Marines are a division of the Galactic Command Armed/Military Forces. I have avoided it though, since he has more important things to worry about developing BCM. So, until further orders come down, I would suggest *not* using the Navy designation. Just a friendly warning. ------------------ Commander Benjamin Somerset GCV Swiftsure, Wraith HQ (Lyrius) Wing Leader - Wraith Fleet/SIN Wing Stealth is the only thing between you, and your enemy's guns.
  9. [RP] 1130hrs, 19 May, 3008 SS Vulture Deck 2 Aft Corridor Benjamin Somerset went down the corridor at a quick pace, constantly looking around, and checking the wrist scanner he had... requisitioned from a dead Gammulan warrior. The scent of death followed him down the corridor, as the yellow Gammulan blood slowly dried on his chest placket. Somerset wore the blood like a badge of honor. Two squads, or twelve Gammulans, had fallen under the concentrated fire of one Benjamin Somerset. He smiled wickedly, as he thought, "It's about time for the Gamm b*stards to get some payback after Rinaal...". At the moment, he was headed toward Engineering. With all of the Gammulan boarding parties, they were sure to have sent some down to Engineering to wreak havoc. Another reason he was going there instead of searching for more intruders was because some of the ships damage had been incurred by a photon grenade tossed by one Commander Somerset. A nice chunk of Deck 2's Mid Corridor was strewn in pieces after the Gamms tried to ambush him. They failed. 1140hrs, 19 May, 3008 SS Vulture Main Engineering He had been right about Engineering, unfortunately. The Gamms had not only killed most of the mercenary Engineers, they had also managed to cause at least some damage to a number of systems. Systems that were vital for their survival. Luckily for them, nothing was irreperable. Somerset quickly began to organize the remaining mercs, and set up repair priorities. For the moment, he gave priority to engines, weapons, and shields. After that they would work on the sensors, and communications. The computers and life support appeared to be undamaged, which was good. Structural integrity was holding up as well. No need to suit up, unless they had to go outside. With all the trouble inside the ship he devoutly hoped no one would have to go EVA. Somerset may not have been a Shawn "Miracle Worker" O'Malley, but he knew how to fix a broken ship. Too many years of fighting had taught him that much. As he dove into the shattered consoles, burnt circuts, and leaky conduits, Somerset thought "We'll fix this bucket of bolts, or die trying." He neglected to think that the latter was indeed an option. [/RP] Blades, it's up to you to decide how bad the damage really is , and whether the comms are up to recieving Caine's message. ------------------ Commander Benjamin Somerset GCV Swiftsure, Wraith HQ (Lyrius) Wing Leader - Wraith Fleet/SIN Wing Stealth is the only thing between you, and your enemy's guns. 10. [RP] quote:realize that it is all an exercise in futility. And what do you think the Insurgency is? Just that, an exercise in futility. 11. [RP] 1104hrs, 19 May, 3008 Modified LRT-15 Transport SS Vulture Guest Quarters The missile exploded on the port side, rocking the ship from side to side. "Evasive manuevers, Pattern Delta!" Somerset shouted, hanging onto the arms of the command chair as the Swiftsure strove "upward" to get away from the trio of Gammulan Stormcarriers chasing them. "Shields down to 58%, Commander!" Kamarov informed him as the ship was struck again. "Inform all ships to prepare to come about, attack pattern Zeta. Let's throw them for a loop," Somerset ordered. After enough time passed for the orders to be confirmed, he said "Execute!" with ice in his voice. The three BC's and five Supercruisers turned about to attack. Immediately, the BC's and two SC's cloaked, and manuevered wildly. Within a matter of minutes two Stormcarriers were disabled, and the other was flotsam. That was when a Gammulan Heavy Cruiser decloaked right in front of the Swiftsure and launched a pair of missiles at her. Somerset looked in the viewscreen, watching them as the headed right for his nose. The impact and fire blew the helm and nav consoles apart. Shrapnel tore through the people manning those stations and ripped through them like buzz saws. One of those buzz saws went right through Somerset's chest, and he stared at the gaping wound, and he screamed. The scream woke him. That was when he heard the atonal sound of GQ. In the darkness of the cabin, he stabbed toward the comm button on his bedside terminal. Only aboard this ship, the terminal wasn't there. Somerset fell out of the bunk and onto the decksole. "Damn," was the only curse he allowed himself. He remembered where he was. On a harebrained mission, and now that mission appeared to be in trouble. Since he wasn't part of the crew, he had no assigned GQ station. But he was also, for the purposes of the mission, "not an officer" and free to do as he wished. The intercom squelched "General Quarters! Intruder Alert!" and then returned to the atonal sound. He walked up to the door, which obidently slid open, and peeked his head out. He found bodies not too far down the corridor. Slowly he crept up to them, taking note of the blood around them. Yellow blood. There was only one humanoid organism that had yellow blood. A careful look confirmed his suspicion. Gammulans. Bloody hell. Never rains but it pours, he thought to himself as he grabbed at a sidearm and holster. He slid the newly acquired weapon into the holster and strapped it on, grabbing a left-over rifle. It appeared someone had been there before him, since the Gamms no longer had any spare magazines. Instead, he stripped the magazines out of the remaining rifles and sidearms, putting them into the apporpriate holders on his weapons belt. He then looked around, and gathered up a commlink, and wrist scanner. No use in being unprepared. That was when he noticed one thing he would've missed later on. Grenades. An evil grin slipped onto his face as he put those on the belt too. It was then that Somerset thanked God that he took that Marine Qualification Course a few years back. That had not only enticed him to keep in shape, but gave him adequate training for repelling boarders. As he hefted his rifle and used the wrist scanner to find life forms in his area, an icy glare entered his eyes. The killer in him gave a smile that would have terrified anyone there to see it. Because for Benjamin Somerset, it was payback time. 12. Gentlemen, As some of you may have heard, there has recently been the defection of a high ranking GalCom officer. GNN reports still indicate that this is a Commander from Orion Fleet. It is my duty to inform you that this is not the case. Intelligence resources have located this interesting bit of communications traffic. It appears that our good Commander Gallion has left us for the Insurgency. Today is indeed a sad day for Wraith Fleet. Due to this, the ICV Graf Spee should be considered a priority target. The Rules of Engagement are clear against Insurgency targets, and this applies to one of our own as well. Terminate with extreme prejudice. ------------------ Commander Benjamin Somerset GCV Swiftsure, Wraith HQ (Lyrius) Wing Leader - Wraith Fleet/SIN Wing Stealth is the only thing between you, and your enemy's guns.

  17. [RP] Somerset watched as the Insurgent whose name he didn't know began to walk back toward the one Insurgent he did know. Not personally, but by reputation. And from what he had heard about him, the one known as Insurgent One was an honorable man. He at least knew that the Insurgent wouldn't stab him in the back. He looked like a man who preferred a fair, and just fight. Unlike Savage, who had just announced he would kill anyone who got in the way. And even after what the other Insurgent had gotten done saying, Somerset wasn't through yet. He had finally reached someone in Fleet Command whom he could vent his anger on. He had violated regulations during The Massacre only to save more of those under his command. What made him angry was that he was handed reprimands for doing his job. If he hadn't violated regulations, Somerset firmly believed that no one would have come back. Fleet Command just didn't seem to see it that way. "I remember those days as well. My ship was beaten to a pulp in Jupiter during the cleanup. You're right in that some of us weren't Commanders back in that day," he said, not looking at the Insurgent who had said those words, but instead glaring at Savage. He turned his gaze toward the Insurgent who had spoken, "But I might remind you that the man you want to save is the one who set Neptune and the colony there on fire. Killed all of the colonists there. Even if EarthCom had an illegal base there, no one has the right to kill innocents wantonly." "I don't want a war with the Insurgents any more than the next man. I'd much rather be giving the Gammulans hell to pay than bringing it upon other humans. I won't say I agree with your ideals and your way of doing things, but war between the Insurgency and GalCom would be a fight I never hope to see." Once again his piercing eyes turned toward Savage. "But I will tell you this, sir," letting the word drip off like an epitaph. "If any of these people are killed during the course of this operation under your orders, I will put you up on all the charges I can find. I don't know about you, but in my book that is called murder. I don't know if you've forgotten, but our weapons do have a setting that the civilized among us like to call stun. Regardless what happens to my career, I'll do whatever is required to see to it that you spend the rest of your life on an unpleasent penal colony. Over twenty-five thousand of our people have died in this war already. Enough is enough." "I'll do whatever is neccessary to see to the conclusion of this mission," Somerset said, glancing at the Insurgent before continuing. "But I do not see fit to put my trust in someone who's told me directly that if it suits him, he'll kill me. It sounds a lot more like the words of one of the mercenaries, and not like a GalCom officer." He gave Savage a hard look as he got his last jab in. "Perhaps now you understand the difficulty in choosing between a wrong and a wrong. There isn't always a right answer, Fleet Commander. Sometimes there is only choosing which is the better wrong. Maybe you should have realized that before simply handing out boards of inquiry and courts-martial after The Massacre. Although now, I'm sure the difference is quite clear." 18. [RP] 0033, 19 May, 3008 S.S. Vulture Docking Bay Entry Hatch Pixan Starstation Somerset stood nearly dumbfounded at what he had just seen Gallion do. He knew that Gallion thought he was too caught up in military protocol and all of its pomp and circumstance. True, he believed in the chain of command, and even in some of the procedures that dated back over a millenia. He approved of side parties and bosun's whistles, even if they were dated. They were a sign of respect, rank, and experience. But Gallion had a point. Why was it they were here? And exactly what had Savage gotten them into? They were now in the middle of a full blown war, and he had ordered them away from pressing duties throughout GalCom space to meet here. He understood Gallion's animosity toward Savage, since the rumor mill had said it was Savage that got Gallion sent up before a general court-martial. Gallion's also right about what a disaster Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune turned out to be when we worked with Insurgents. Especially Neptune... Which is when something very disturbing dawned on him. Just as it was then, the order to cooperate was illegal. And that meant it didn't have to be obeyed. "Sir," he said even now being unable to forget protocol "Commander Gallion is quite correct in his questions and statements. However, there is another point I would like to address. At this moment you are in direct violation of no less than 5 GalCom penal level offenses. Conspiring with the enemy, aiding the enemy, attempt to incite mutiny, sedition, and treason. All of these call for court-martial, and there are enough officers present for at least a special court. With these deliberate violations, we are no longer legally required to obey your orders. I don't know how the Insurgents run things, but in GalCom we are required to follow and abide by certain regulations. You have not. So I suggest that you choose your next words wisely, because mercenaries or not, your career depends on them." 21. [RP] 0015 hrs, 19th May, 3008 Modified LRT-15 Transport S.S Vulture Command Deck Briefing Room Somerset still sat in disbelief in the chair he sat down in for the beginning of the oddest briefing he had ever had the displeasure of being involved in. He had been one of those whose first thought was to head for a comm terminal to report Savage's blatent treasonous activity. After all, he was part of Fleet Command, and therefore part of the Command structure that tried to throw The Book at him after the Massacre. Two official reprimands later, and now this man wanted him to work with Insurgents? It was the most preposterous idea he had ever heard in his entire life. His sworn enemy, the leader of them right in his midst, and all he could do was work with them. Well, orders are orders...and until he faces a court-martial, he still is my legal superior, and his orders are binding, he thought to himself. He managed to hide all of these thoughts and his hatred for the Insurgents around him gracefully, and walked up to Savage. "Sir, Benjamin Somerset, GCV Swiftsure. I don't believe I've had the pleasure...," he said, extending his hand. "And sir, what exactly do you have in store for an Intel man like me?" 23. [RP] 2329hrs, 18 May, 3008 Primary access hatch SS Vulture Somerset approached the hatch of the SS Vulture with what most would consider a large degree of trepidation. There was a more than distinct possibility he was walking directly into a trap. The Commander of the SIN Wing would definitely make a good prize for some aspiring Gammulan spy. However, he had to go anyway. At least to see if the orders were real. If they weren't, a quick escape would be in order. He expected as a matter of course that he would be scanned, and his weapon confiscated. So he made sure that his only weapon was obvious, and that his commlink was easily seen and easily taken. He even deactivated his failsafe device. Had Soran been present, he would have called it illogical, not to mention dangerous. Somehow, Somerset had the feeling that this wasn't any trap. Somerset pressed a button on the outer hull of the ship, and the airlock opened to reveal a squad of what could only be mercinaries. Despicable characters... Somerset thought. "Evening, gentlemen. Benjamin Somerset is the name," he said. The one who appeared to be the leader stepped up and said gruffly "Remove ya weapon, and anything else nasty ya got. The boss said ta shoot anybody who don't listen." "Very well. If that's what The Boss wants," Somerset replied. B*astards... If only I was in uniform...I could deal more harshly with this scum. He couldn't help having the irreverent thought crossing his mind. These were the kind of people who should be serving long sentences at GalCom penal colonies. He removed his commlink, and his weapon. He looked over at the leader and stated quite plainly, "Gentlemen, I suppose before you scan me, since I'm assuming that's what the tech over there is for, I should tell you something. About a centimeter underneath my abdomen is a small transponder device. I have it deactivated, and it won't do you any harm. However if it would make you feel better I have the feeling that your tech has a dampening unit with him that will make the device totally nonfunctional. You can't remove it, and shorting it out is not an option. Give me the dampener or I will see my way out." The leader looked over at the others for a minute, and nodded his head at the tech. The tech walked over to him and began scanning. "It's there, boss," he said. Somerset caught the leader glaring at him as he told the tech, "Give him a dampener. If you're fooling with us..." "I'm not. If I am, you have my word you can shoot me," Somerset replied. "The rest of him is clean, boss," the tech reported. "Get out of here, Somerset. Lift is down the corridor, to your left. Go to deck 3, briefing." the leader told him. Somerset nodded and said, "Thank you. It's been a pleasure...gentlemen," he finished, using a word that didn't quite apply to the thugs. He reached the lift, and stepped inside. "Deck 3, briefing," he ordered. This had better be good...and not a waste of my time. Even so, there's no telling what's going on, or who's going to be here, he thought to himself. As the lift door opened to reveal the occupants of the briefing room, Somerset didn't realize just how right he was. [/RP] There you go, Blades. No active fancy electronic gadgets. And the dampening field will prohibit it from working. Just don't make Somerset wish he had thought otherwise about deactivating the device. ------------------ Commander Benjamin Somerset GCV Swiftsure, Wraith HQ (Lyrius) Wing Leader - Wraith Fleet/SIN Wing Stealth is the only thing between you, and your enemy's guns. 25. Another disadvantage would be all of the people you'd leave behind if you had to abandon ship. Remember that eliminating the shuttles would also eliminate the lives of those who would be forced to remain aboard the sinking ship. Especially in a desperate (ie: Reactor core breach) situation. ------------------ Commander Benjamin Somerset GCV Swiftsure, Wraith HQ (Lyrius) Wing Leader - Wraith Fleet/SIN Wing Stealth is the only thing between you, and your enemy's guns.
