So pbbttttt, to you! j/k! Good luck there, XenoZohar. You just might need it. [ 12-13-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  2. Actually, I believe it is xCV, which would stand for (GalCom/Insurgent/EarthCom/Undesignated) Command Vessel quote:Originally posted by Commander Phantom: My ship is the UCV-Enterprise. Stormcarrier class. Will my ship be added to that big list? First off, an Indie (UCV guy) can't have a Stormcarrier. Only the Gammulan Military is allowed that. You're limited to cruisers (or less); see the asset choices page for help and info on what classes you can select. It all depends on your caste. (i.e. Mercenary, Assassin, Trader, etc.) Finally, there already is a ship named the Enterprise. (See here.) Once you register in the Fleet DB, your name is instantly put on the list. That's how the list became in the first place; another great job of Tin. And if you're registering as an Indie, then head to the Indie Forum (Misc. Race/Caste Forum) at the bottom of the list, and post in the thread about the registration. On registration, you cannot select your ship type. You'll have to post it on that forum in that thread, to have an admin make the selection for you. Choose wisely.
  3. See page 51 about waypoints. I've written up a condensed version here: You go into Tacops, and "observe" the planet/moon you want. Click on a general area of where you want to go, or click the "zoom to" command if there's a specific mission zone or starbase you're looking for. On the bottom of the screen, click on the waypoint key, make sure that the "CC" is selected, click "add", and then "setpos" and click where you want it to go. Now go initiate planetfall. (Target the planet, and press Shift-9, or fly into it's gravitational pull; either way's cool.) You'll end up where you put that waypoint. Nova, over and out.
  4. You know, it doesn't even have to be disabled or show an SOS for you to tow it for a reward.... Also, it seems that if you get close enough to an active enemy to tractor it, it won't be able to attack the shuttle or whatever that's towing it. ------ GCV Supremacy Ship Stats Mission Time: 15:35 Integrity: 99% Casualties: 1 Combat Kills: 3 Combat Captures (Enemy): 6 Capital Ships, 3 Interceptors Trading Runs: 6 Inventory + Cash in Account Combined: 35+ Million GalCreds ----- Most of that cash came from my capturing of ships, the rest came from my mining operations, and trade runs...... Capturing is pretty profitable, if ya ask me.
  5. *more people groan and mumble* IRC would be nice. Or something else. I still wanna see what SC has in mind. Either way, it'll be great!
  6. ROTFLMAO!!!! You guys are making me think twice about my NWW position now..... j/k [ 12-12-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  7. Being the NWW (Newbie Welcome Wagon), I'll give you the info, instead of having you search mindlessly through the manual. I'm doing this because people out there have been mistaking the manual pages.... How? Beats the hell out of me.... (RP) "Go to page 25." "Nope. Nothing there. It's the page with the pictures of the pilots at the top, right?" "No, no, no!!! That's page 55... I said 25." "Okay...... Hm.. It's got "5.3 LOGISTIX Computer" at the top... This page doesn't help a bit." "Grrr.. IIRC, that's page 37. Are you sure you know how to read English? Or even just numbers?" "*mumbles*..." "*sigh* Why should I even bother....." (/RP) You can't equip different weapons on your AE (Alter-Ego; as in, your character). A commander is limited to what he's got. So are the marines you come with. This means you can't change their weapons as well. (If I'm correct.... http://www.3000ad.com/forum/uploads/emoticons/default_happy.png' alt='^_^'>; ) If you are a commander, first-person weapons are only for trade purposes only. Welcome aboard. Now go register the game, put your system profile link in your sig (see here for help on this), and get ready for a wild ride! See you in multiplayer. Nova, over and out. Disclaimer: The Role Play (RP) bit at the top is purely fiction. Any similarities to actual events or people, living or dead, are completely coincidental. As you were, cadets. 8. Then I'm calling Keanu Reeves as Nova.
  9. Rule 2302: That's why vets, like me, are around. Rule 2303: And you don't collect 200 GalCreds...... [ 12-12-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  10. Then that's a Windows XP OS crash, because a DirectX or game-based crash would produce it's own box, instead of the Windows one. At least that's my guess. I just got XP, so I wouldn't know if BCM made a different box, but I know it did under ME and 98.......
  11. I'd love to see some of the RP stories (the epics like Preemptive Strike) turned into books someday. And movies?? Wow! I'd love to hear more about this. Update: Post 900!!!!!!! [ 12-12-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  12. Raising the bar? With my limited understanding of what BCO is to be, I say he's tearing down the bar, chopping it into pieces, and building a whole new bar on a brand new plane! Can it get better than this? Most likely.
  13. quote:Originally posted by Mindglow: How does one set the altitude of the way point? The instruction book does not address this. From what I've picked up from the SC, you don't. It's pre-set to around ground level, I think.... I could be wrong though.
  14. ;;; .......*cough* Yeah, um.... Er, I haven't actually had a talk with you about that, have I? Well, just keep the Outlaw Star. Make sure it stays in good condition. I'm telling you to take care of it like this, 'cause officially, I had it first. (Oh, come on.... I still use Outlaw Star desktop wallpaper, for gods sake! Eh, no matter. I'm planning to replace it with a Mac Hall one soon, anyway.....) And Outlaw, you really know how to piss off this moderator! But it's all in fun. Just goes to show you what a true f***ing idiot I was (actually, still am inside). See you around, Nova (BTW, see that Mac Hall link above. That's just become my favorite comic ever... Since like 2 days ago. (Thanks Chris/Sebastian/Commander Cypher or whatever alias he wants to be called today.) Some of it is pretty good stuff. Just check their archives and pick any random date; it's good either way.) [ 12-11-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  15. ...But great n00bs are still n00bs. I'd love to see you guys try and prove yourselves when multiplayer comes out.... That'll be the day. And, judging from the amount of newbies, and exactly how they've been active on the forums, I guess that'll be the fastest way to get recognition here, now. Otherwise, you're back to the old method of letting SC yell at you at least twice, and learning the lessons of actually looking before leaping. (Or posting.)
  16. quote:Originally posted by Fractux: Write a four hour long post Fractux, your sig is "illegal". Only Tacops-approved images are to be displayed inside your sig. Gammulans using the Gammulan logo, which animates into their face, was the only exception. Also creating new groups is illegal. If you're in GalCom, you must be in one of the 4 official fleets. Otherwise, you should be designated as an indie (as in change your ship to UCV-PARAPET), and create whatever squadron you'd like there. If that Iron Ravens thing has nothing to do with BC, then take it out, please. For more information, send me a PM. ----- That didn't take four hours, did it? Welcoem aboard. Nova, over and out.
  17. ...is back on the air!! (If none of you knew, Live365, was having some trouble last week.... Nevermind.... Most of you don't even listen--but that should change now.....) Yeah, um--B2:Radio's puttin' up a new Basement special today! quote:E-Mail Announcement: And whats this? A special presentation of sorts? Somthing special for our darling listeners? Yes !!! Not only are we fandabby dozey, crack-a-jack and all manner of other 'fun' like things, we have us a very exclusive interview with the one and only James Hamblin, who amongst other things we have recently discovered actually wrote Michael Jacksons "Thriller" .... we ****in kid you not !!! ICQ Announcement: Tonight on B2 RADIO ... More fun, more music, more talent. ALSO, Comedy Mike n an exclusive interview with the one and only JAMES HAMBLIN. Miss this show, and you'll probably end up regretting ir the rest of your sorry, miserable lives. Trust us on this .... we got insider knowledge And, to add to the madness, our favorite little "guest appearance" from a month or so back, is now officially one of the crew! So, tune in! Listen all day, or night, or what have you.... Yeah, so just don't miss this. http://www.3000ad.com/forum/uploads/emoticons/default_happy.png' alt='^_^'> Trust me--with Blades as the frontman, and "Comedy Mike" (lol ) along for the ride, it's gotta be good..... (And remember, Hamblin's gonna be on the air, so you gotta see this!) That's tonite, at 9PM-Midnight (GMT), go to B2Radio, and click Listen LIVE. (Um, that's 4PM-7PM Eastern...) Oh, and miss this->you die. (j/k!) Nova, over and out. [ 12-11-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  18. quote:Originally posted by Ben Zwycky: Wasn't there anything from 3000 to 3015? ....Not to my knowledge. And I did check it a couple more times, to make sure. Nothing past 3000 in the Manual, Appendix, and any of the other official stuff......

  20. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: So, what do you vet thinks of the new breed of newbies? I've seen great promise (and some pretty hilarious humour) from the new breed. They show a lot of promise. What do you guys think? I like 'em. And so far, I've only banned one (Melanie650) I now know has a pirated copy of the game and temporarily suppressed another's posting rights (Zuul). Since these guys show such promise, I'm not sure we're going to get the mp fodder we were so looking forward to. [ 12-10-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ] These guys seem to have more common sense than past generations. Back when I was a newb (right about the Episode 1 demo), most of us were pretty much, more or less bumbling fools. Heh, I remember leading a fight for Indie Rights back a few months ago..... The word is naive-ness. (If there is such a word. ) That's something that these new BCM newbies don't seem to show a lot of. Which is good. The new guys are enthusiastic, exhibit some common sense, and they're every bit as crazy as some of us vets here.... *cough*Tac*cough* quote:Originally posted by Urza: Actually, the funny breed of newbie was around for a while. (I remember when I was a newbie ) But now, we're getting this new form of "super-n00b" that could give us a run for our money, come multiplayer. Super n00b? Boy, oh boy.... Read this, and you'll understand how I can see newbies from their point of view.... Ouch; I was more pitiful back then, than most newbies I see today. (Read above reply to SC for more.) Beginners luck never came around to me. It wasn't until I started hanging around the vets, and helping the newbies with info until I actually improved. Then Blades notices my ability to get in touch with newblood, and recruits me to Orion Fleet. The rest is history. Ahh, time goes by so fast. To tell you the truth, I've only said RTFM probably twice in my entire time on these forums. And that was before I was the NWW you see before you today. quote:Originally posted by Carl Burning: Define 'vet' for the BC series A 'vet' is a guy who has made a good name for himself on the Forums. It's basically being well-known for something good, or just being around for a long time. In my case, I'm a vet because of the first rule. ----- Kneel before my feet, for I am a moderator!!! Be amazed at my incredibly vast knowledge, and my Newbie Welcome Wagon-ness!!!! Mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! (Edit: I'm still feeling the moment after my promotion...... Yeah, um, I think I'll head off to bed now...) (Edit2: Post 888!!!! w00t!!! ....Alright, so it probably isn't anything special.... Read the first edit, and understand that I'm high off of medpacks rightnow....) [ 12-10-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  21. Injecting myself with a vaccination isn't my idea of fun..... (I.... um... don't like needles. Yeah.) A few beers? Sure. Sniff a couple MedPacks? Why not? VacPacs??? Erm... I'm not that drugged. I'm more addicted to BC, after all. [ 12-10-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
