  1. Downloaded the bcm1001_navdata.zip, to try and fix the Navitron problem and the wormhole, like you said. Unzipped it into the BCM Folder, but now, when I try to click an empty player slot for SNG, it CTDs just as I click the slot. (the slot that says "available" or something of the like) I also wanted to bring this up: The zip file was 191k, but the downloads page said it was 4k. I also downloaded again to make sure it wasn't a botched download. Still 191k, still have the problem. The contents of the zip file are as follows: data/navdata.ini data/scenarios.zip data/world.zip pte2/pteScene.ini I'll try to re-install, re-patch, and try again.
  2. (Homer Simpson voice): "Mmmm... Nutripacks...."
  3. Pegasus->Question 2. In multiplayer, time acceleration wouldn't be possible. The multiplayer patch more or less won't completely change any other game systems. (It'll just add one.) So if he enabled time accel, then there would be a conflict in it when multiplayer came out. No time acceleration. It works as designed. Live with it. And what are you gonna do with it? Mine faster? That'd be cheating, IMO.
  4. quote:Originally posted by Menchise: Hehe. Sorry Vandal, she already has Foss. BTW, isn't Akuma supposed to have purple hair, at least according to RP? Yep..... In RP, Nova (my AE/character) is supposed to have red or purple hair in that anime spiked style. (Sorta like some of the characters in Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross.) BTW, nice quote you've got there, SC. [ 11-25-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  5. I favor the Violon. A mix of speed and manuverability, like a cruiser, but it's got a fighter complement. (Making it a carrier.) Also, try some of the cruisers. If you're the kind who prefers to dogfight with your ship, then try it. Some of the cruisers are pretty fast.
  6. It's not a bug. The systems gone. Live with it. It's for realism. In role-play, a ship like that would be mothballed, probably re-built, and re-comissioned. Guess you'll have to start your career over, because you can't lose your ship and get it recommissioned in the same career. (As far as I know)
  7. Oh, that's gotta bite. I understand not letting us repair artifacts.... But how can you consider the job a repair if it hasn't even been fully installed?.... I'll have to watch out for this when I upgrade my ship.
  8. Yes, yes. Go see Blades and tell him he sent y--wait, that isn't right....--ah screw it. If you want action, you should join the Elites of Orion Fleet. (it rhymes! ) We are the most active Fleet, on the forums, and have our own separate forums (here). We're currently employed as the Heavy Strike Force in GalCom, and would like a few good commanders. Also, we're in dire need of Pilots and Marines. We take only the best of the best, and our Academy trains you and tests you to be exactly that. (And we want active people. In forum and in game.) So if, in multiplayer, you want to have an interesting life in space, try Orion. If you're up to the challenge. Go contact Fleet Commander Blades like he said , or contact $ilk, the Recruitment officer. ( [email protected] ) Finally, being the Welcome Wagon, I'm here to assist you if you have any questions. Feel free to ask any time. ( [email protected] ) I'm best suited at answering questions on the Fleet system, and multiplayer, and Role Play, and stuff like that. If you need tech support, you know where to go. So, if you're interested, come our way. If you're not, then go do whatever you want. And if I see you listen to Rattler and go Insurgent, then (as Gallion so puts it) Welcome to our Nightmare...... Nova, over and out.
  9. The intruders appeared in the Transporter Room. IIRC from BC3k, that's on the same deck as the Bridge. (Could be mistaken.) Now, Operations is near the Bridge, but I'm really not sure how they killed me, still. Wasn't paying attention to Perscan after I first noticed and sent the Marine orders. Then it shows that commlink page with the thing that says I died.... I got quite a kick out of that. 2.5 of my guys to one of the intruders. I had every reason to take out revenge on Resnig.
  10. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: Congratulations. You have found one of the many mysteries embedded in the BCM world. There are several. Some quite shocking and others astounding. Go back to Utopia.... I have the strangest feeling you're hinting me. But ah well, I'll go explore more of the universe. I've personally never been to the Gammulan quadrant yet in BCM. And something odd. Let's say you ask for the next ACM Mission, and you see the Supreme Commander talking, saying "Your current situation remains unresolved". If you look in the Commlink log, it says his name is Clint Raines (or something like that), instead of Karl Reines. I even checked in the Appendix to make sure it (his name) wasn't changed in BCM. Just a curious "what's up", if you wanna know.
  11. LMAO!!! Well, here's another story that should catch the AI Marine's attention. 8 or so Intruders come out of nowhere, and start rampaging through the corridors of my ship. I manually tell all 20 of my marines to start searching. I also turn off launch control. I assume that they can handle it, so I go back to my own business. A few minutes later, I find myself dead. 20 vs 8 and I still died? I was left wondering what the hell Resnig did the whole time in Operations with all my marines. I mean, he's gotta be doing something! What, is he playing poker? Well, I didn't care. I started up a new game, put myself, 10 marines, and Resnig all in a shuttle, and went planetside, Centris. Told all the marines to start shooting him. Boy, was it funny. They were shooting missiles and stuff. Then again, they were missing half the time, because Resnig never taught them how to use their weapons. I got tired and shot him down myself with my wristlaser. The best way to raise Marine AI: get rid of (or better yet, kill) Resnig and train the marines yourself. [ 11-24-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  12. ...... Take some pointers from the elite. Of course I'm talking Orion Fleet. See here. (Ooh, and look at me!!!) Hm.. I'm planning to redo my pic, though. Aleksey (Orion Morale Officer) brought up the point of glasses being proably nonexistant in 3000ad. I've got something cooked up. Nova, over and out. [ 11-24-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  13. I have #3, the persistent Damage effects. IIRC, Andergum also had it; he posted it in another thread. Don't think any of them have been resolved. I haven't touched hte transporter yet, so I wouldn't know about the other two.
  14. In BC3k, I've gotten off of a court martial involving a RANDOM. Launched one at one of those Gamm infested worlds in the Credian quadrant. When I came back for the hearing, I guess I was let off because I helped bring the war closer to a victory, and because I had excellent behavior prior to the RANDOM launch. In BCM, your mileage may vary.
  15. I decided to go exploring some places outside of the Terran Quadrant for once. Here's my story. Pretty cruel twist at the ending. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Here goes. We launched from the Alteris station. A desolate planet on the edge of life, and on the edge of the galaxy. It really was a good place for a scientist to check out. Anyway, after all systems were go, I decided to check out the planet Obsidia. From recently released reports, it was a planet that was connected to Alteris by a FluxField and to a Supernova by a strange wormhole. I had to check it out. The huge blackened looking planet was sadistically beautiful. It was dead empty here, but I decided to run a Tacops scan of the planet's surface. It was then that I got a shock. There was a signal coming from a portion of the planet. Our systems recorded no life at all on the planet, but I persisted in gathering information. The signal had a strange new IFF signal coming from it. It said Gal/Exp..... I zoomed in on the zone. One mission scene there. It also had an odd designation. "Utopia". Funny, but from Tacops, it did look like a utopia. The entire planet was black and devistated, but this section had greenery, and a lake nearby. Finally, the source of the strange signal was found. It looked like a probe. It was somehow embedded in the ground. The Tacops seemed to mark it as an "unknown" instead of a probe, though. Still Gal/Exp.... I set a waypoint down on the planet, and engaged planetfall procedures. I didn't realize it until I was in the atmosphere, but the planet had a violent storm pattern, much like a gas giant. It also had the many cloud layers. Soon, I found my ship picking up damage........ I made a quick landing. I decided to get out of the ship and make a run for the probe. I heared a crash of thunder, and I died. --- So what if I left the ship on a gas planet? I didn't know better! If you didn't know, then here: The Galaxians were the "secret" thing of BC3k. Pictures of a Galaxian probe in a black hole have been seen throughout the forums. SC said they'd have something to do in one of the new games. (BCM, BCO, or Something Else) I'm eagerly waiting for that, and I'm starting to get my own ideas on what they're all about. (Some nice Role-Play things and backstories.... I won't mention any of that stuff here; I'll just wait for the official stuff, 'cuz I just might be wrong.) (And I've never been to Obsidia in BC3k either, so this was pretty cool.... It was just the way I died that made this great.... lol.)
  16. Another ATI board. Good. ATI Support Site You can download the latest ATI drivers there, they have a list of the products, and you just click on yours and put in the OS and it should point you to the latest driver for your Radeon. Hehe, I've also got an old Intel 810 I don't use on this system..... I seriously think it's your drivers. See if that helps. Rendering assistance is one thing Nova, Keep the snide remarks to yourself TTFN [ 11-24-2001: Message edited by: Gallion ]
  17. SC. I got the glitch still, after re-installing and installing the new final patch. (I installed it properly, by running the patch from the BCM folder, like you suggested.) Have DX8.1, have latest drivers for Vid Card. (ATI Rage 128, 4.13.7192 drivers) Also, I have the save files readily on hand, if you need it. Zipped it and such, as per the explanation you posted here. Here's the save files. (first player slot (player0), has the "resume" data and he first save slot of the player profile (the player0.sg0 and player0.sgd)) When you load it up, try to view the outside of the CC. Zoom out, you don't see it, zoom in, you do. Try it on other targets. Same glitch. You can also see it sparingly in the bridgeviewer. I'd also like to note that my ship did not recieve any damage at all during the entire course of the game, thus far. Nova, over and out.
  18. Hehe, and just noticed--there's a black hole connected to Fluxfield 2. Check your Nav Chart in the Appendix. I can see a Stormcarrier just getting ripped apart now.......
  19. *evil grin* But actually, I've been trying the same thing, in reverse. Trying to find the quickest way from GalCom territory to the Gammulan quadrant. It's just a lot harder. The flux fields and such in the Gammulan quad are only connected to other systems in the Gamm quad. (Except that one to the Syrion area.) I believe that flux fields could be a valuable thing to use. The only downside being that you have to use caution to Flux Fields that have paths leading to black holes....... And I think having probes inside the supernova of the Flux Field outside Mars, along with minefields there could help with that Gammulan problem. The only other basic security problem I've had contact with is the New America station. Just next door to Orion Fleet's territory........ [ 11-24-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  20. Yes. Outside the quotes. So it should look like this: "C:Program FilesBattlecruiser Millenniumbcm.exe" -i If you also use another command line param, you'll also put these outside the quotes. "D:Programs3000ADBattlecruiser Millenniumbcm.exe" -n -nd1 -nd2 (This one is the one in my shortcut. Yep, I installed into a custom directory.)
  21. I always use shuttles to bring me around, if I need to be somewhere fast. Taking off from Ronus IV (Trenis), as a Stormcarrier, I had my shuttle carry me, and I went over to Darain to jump into Fluxfield 7. I make it to the supernova I wanted, and jumped into Fluxfield 2, to Mars. Then, I went over to Earth and captured GalcomHQ and destroyed Genesis. All before 13:25 game time! If the Gammulan empire ever wants to take over the human race, I think they'll use a combo of towing shuttles and those fluxfields I just described. I'm guessing Prime Fleet will be watching that Mars fluxfield a lot more now.
  22. Good job, SC. Now go get some rest. You'll need it for the next patch..... Post 777! Lucky 7's baby! [ 11-24-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  23. I don't know. But I've gotten tons of (shield fuel, forget which one that is) from Centris. Hope that helps. I think it's random or something, depending on what planet and/or what region of the planet. I don't care. I'm just mining to make a decent buck until Debris Fields come back.
  24. Yeah, I was wondering about that also, Dread. That same command was also in BC3k, and I had no idea what the hell it did. Still don't.
