  1. That was what I heard- For ST, Only Torpedoes can be launched while at FTL speeds. Probably since Phasers are a lot slower and if they fired going even Warp 1 the energy would rip through the hull. Like spitting ahead of a car and it hits you in the head. And yes, SW lasers aren't really lasers, they are plasma energy stored in a small magnetic field which is discharged and recharged easily. Laser was a term back in the '70s that seemed to mean "high energy weapon", until people finally got it in their skulls that it was really just light amplified enough to become visible as a line or whichever, that can also be used as a sort of data transceiver (CDs are a prime example). Although it can be used as a weapon- just shoot a beam into someone's eyes and they're blinded.
  2. Except the Great Bird of the Galaxy (Gene Roddenberry) isn't with us now (shot into space), though you could get Rick Berman, since he was like the XO for the whole TNG-DS9-Voy series. I think all of them have an equal chance of having an advantage. Like with BC vs ST, Trek would win out in terms of sheer firepower, speed, shields, hull, basically everything. But BCs make up in the ability to cloak without that pesky Treaty of Algeron. Not to mention, they have a lot more different types of weapons, and they have a better paint job. Like what's been said, we don't know what kind of effect different technology would have. Like phasers on a BC Shield, it's not known if the Nadion energy would be dissipated or the shields would invert on itself and tear the ship apart.
  3. Why bother trying to control the drugs, legalizing, or any of that crap? Burn down all the fields, create a giant antitoxin that floats around the atmosphere, and introduce a gene factor which makes any (illegal) drug instantly deadly by even touching it. And in the year 50000 (when we've mastered time travel), someone will need to go back and kill the guy who thought of using and dealing illegal drugs.
  4. Seems that some people are forgetting a little fact- Going by the current SW date from "The Return of the Jedi", the Jedi are all but extinct. And I doubt the single Jedi (Luke) can wield enough force to handle a Battlecruiser all by himself. Leia doesn't count, as she hasn't had training and is sort of latent in a lot of abilities.
  5. Commanche 3 for PC. Best damn Helo game I ever played.
  6. So it's mandatory to use a signature?
  7. Commander Gideon of the G.C.V. Excalibur reporting in. Another note- I currently do not have an Asset or Start area assignment. Getting BCM when it comes out. That and I do not use signatures.
  8. What would happen, theoritically, if a ship jumped at the exact same moment as getting hit by weapons fire? And suppose the ship is in direct contact with another ship(I.E. Ramming) and jumps at that moment? Since tecnically the two forms of matter (or antimatter anyways) are existing in one place briefly, then the jump field should affect that too?
  9. First post, but I've got a few questions of of my own about BC hyperspace physics... One is, when hyperspacing, and a ship is caught in that energy wave, does the affected ship also get caught in the jump? If not, is it affected in any other way? I got the basis for this from B5, since when a ship opens a jump point a fighter or other cap ship could go through the point. Two, Is there some way of recoodinating hyperjumps so you could go to any point in the universe?
