  1. I experienced the same as Patrick. I then ran the game in windowed (/w1) mode and found out the error message:

    code:

    FATAR ERROR:

    Save file Corrupt, invalid PZ count

    and on the other saved game:

    code:

    FATAR ERROR:

    Save file Corrupt, invalid PA count

    Maybe this is because I DIDN'T backup my saved game files.

    I'm sure I ran the patch in the game folder, since I have a dl manager that downloads the files to specific folders and I just checked the folder it downloaded the file and I checked that it really existed in that folder before launching it.

  2. Time for a one from the oldie?

    I first got to know these series in ┬┤96.

    I live in Finland and have been happily married to the most beautiful, intellectual and loving wife for 21 years. (No, she doesn't read these forums )

    I have a son, who's turning 20 later this year. (That makes that I turn 50 this year about the same time!)

    I'm a teacher in a school for a children with dissabilities.

    I've found many friends through these games (especially you Gordon and Remo!)

    That's what I'm going to do tonight when I get home.

    Sooo... I need everyone who wants to join in the 3000ad friendlist to tell me their XFire username, so that I can add it to 3000ad friendlist. I tried to look for XFire usernames in the profiles, but just few has it in their profiles. Please add it to your profile or send a pm to me.

    BTW SC, can I use 3000ad as a master friend group name?

  4. I found out what's wrong.

    If you have friends logged you can launch game through selecting your friend and selecting the joypad icon with Eclipses parameters and it brings you straight to the server where your friend is.

    But if there's none of your friends already online and you try to select > Tools > Launch > Universal Combat Multiplayer, it doesn't work with +connect parameters.

    So the best way is to use Eclipses parameters.

  5. I couldn't get XFire to work with parameters Eclipse suggested. I don't know why it works with Eclipse and Chavik and not in my machine. Instead I added "/c" to the line in the same ua_plugin.ini file:

    code:

    Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS% /c

    So the whole UCMP entry should look like this:

    code:

    [4211]

    LongName=Universal Combat Multiplayer

    ShortName=ucmp

    Icon=uc.ico

    LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE3000adUniversal Combatpath

    LauncherExe=ucmp.exe

    LauncherPasswordArgs=+password "%UA_GAME_HOST_PASSWORD%"

    LauncherNetworkArgs=%UA_GAME_HOST_NAME%:%UA_GAME_HOST_PORT% %UA_LAUNCHER_PASSWORD_ARGS%

    InstallHint=

    Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS% /c

    ServerStatusType=FARCRY

    CanBeUpForGame=TRUE

    ...and now it works
