  1. Yeah, that's true about (some)PC games being nothing like console games. BCM anyone? Ah, Panasonic is releasing a DVD player version of the GC (supposedly) shortly after the Nintendo version, so don't rule the GC out because of that. Anyway, the PS2 has finally gotten some good games, though still not many great RPGs... Good luck with whatever console you get.
  2. What I do, is I plug in the one I want to play, pop in the game, and have fun. Simple, eh? I make the room for the consoles and assorted other things. What do you think drawers and shelves are for? Plus, I don't have them ALL out at once. That's silly. I have only two of the ones mentioned above sitting right here. And before you say, "Why go to the trouble of hooking up another system every time?", I do it because I enjoy the games. Isn't that what it's all about? Nah, I don't have that many games in total, mainly because I'm very selective in what I buy. All my games could fit in one box, if needed. Er, in summary, I make the room for the ones I use most, and keep the others around for when I want to play them. They aren't useless enough to be thrown out (disposed of), though, as someone above said. Think of it this way: Some PC gamers keep old hardware around just incase they need or want them for some reason(making a new computer from old parts, as an example). I do the same for my old consoles. That's just my opinion, though. [ 11-07-2001: Message edited by: XenoZohar ]
  3. quote: ...when it gets old, I don't throw the whole thing out, I pull out the old stuff and plug in new stuff. You are mistaken on one thing. Console gamers typically don't throw their old consoles out. There isn't any reason to. It would be a waste of money to just toss them to the wind. Plus, one couldn't play old games anymore. That's one thing I enjoy about PC games, even though I'm a diehard console gamer. You can play older games on an upgraded system. I still enjoy the crash/update free nature of the consoles, though. When someone creates a console game, they KNOW that they MUST get it as perfect as possible, since a half-hearted attempt on a console would spell doom for that company. This doesn't happen that much on PC. Take any of the longest running games, and notice that they have been patched too many times to be counted, because of the nature of the PC as it grows ever more powerful and different from the next in hardware, software, etc. WW2 online, Anarchy online, etc. are some of the worst examples I can think of. Anyway, just my opinion. Really meant to only say that console gamers don't throw out their old systems...er, yeah. Can 'o worms, anyone? Edit: Oh, console preference is GameCube, as I already have a PS2, and Xbox can stay with it's PC brethren... [ 11-06-2001: Message edited by: XenoZohar ]
  4. LOL! Thanks Silk, it's been a few months since I read that.
  5. Anyone interested in selling the Genesis StarFlight? I'd rather not have to go to ebay to find it, and I've been dying to play it for a while. (emulation is bad, mkay?)
  6. StarFlight was a PC game, then was ported to Genesis. Great game, by the way. I want to shoot bugs with my bugnor! Let me reenact Ender's Game with a bug planet and the RANDOM!
  7. Hey now, VHS is still good...for recording stuff...ok, so that's all it's good for. Sue me.
  8. I think I got lost. I'm just going to read this thread now. No more posting from me. I have other ideas. Differences are bad. Conformity is good. O_o
  9. quote: The global warming issue is what has harmed or will harm th environmentalist cause the most. The scientific world is at this moment quite confident that the earth is warming up, but doesn't agree on how much, how much harm will be done, and what part of the warming is actually caused by human actions. (as opposed to different methods of measurement and natural fluctiations) These waters are further muddied by environmentalists with media campaigns which predict more storms, floods and other disasters "because of global warming". quote: The solutions to which are anti-capitalist, and socialist. Explain? Maybe I missed something... Edit: I'm talking to Silk, not emphy, just to be sure. [ 10-26-2001: Message edited by: XenoZohar ]
  10. quote: Remember all that crap about global warming? Our atmosphere? You know the stuff they would tell you in school? Most of it is exagerated or not true at all. Right. I suppose you're the definitive authority on this. Don't post things without backing them up. [ 10-26-2001: Message edited by: XenoZohar ]
  11. Shoot. Another (supposed) classic I missed out on. I was a Mario whore back then.
  12. It wasn't the original Street Fighter, was it?
  13. Holy crap, that's great! I don't know what game the "main" character is from, but the boy with the backpack is from a "Boy and his Blob." Beat that for old. ^__^
  14. Side note: krazor, where do you put all of those systems? With that many, i'd be stepping on keyboards and sleeping with a monitor for a pillow!
  15. I think someone asked about opinions about which Trek pilot was their favorite on this thread(then again, I could be wrong), so I thought about this... Which series finale was your favorite? Least favorite? Favorite for me was "All good things...", and least was "Endgame", though it had one redeeming quality: Mega-Armor Voyager. Though, nothing beats the multi-vector attack mode of that one ship...what was it?
  16. What, no one is going to chime in about how the ship is too new looking? /End sarcasm/ *grumble*
  17. Here's mine: BCM belongs in the RPSimCombatSpaceFPS-OH-MY-GOD-I'M-LOCKING-THE-DOOR-AND-NEVER-COMING-OUT! genre. Thank you. Direct all tomatoes to space.
  18. Well, someone give this guy a prize for having the most detailed entry! Thanks a lot! I'll be sure to check all the prices to make sure this fits in my budget. Thanks again.
  19. Nova: Yeah, I knew that there aren't any "Fleets" devoted to Journalist. I ain't THAT new here, just a new poster. Though, anything is possible. SC may decide to add a fleet for them after BCM is out and he's working on GCO (only an idea....and he did say Journalists will be mostly important for delivering news in the earlier post). As for the "Fleet" thing, I was using the general term (a large conglomeration of ships). A corporation would actually sound better in reference to Journalists... Heh, thanks for the lesson. Though I knew all that you posted, I appreciate it.
  20. quote: What's with these 10-hour games the industry has been throwing at us lately? I believe it's because it's hard to innovate today in the gaming world. Since it is, companies usually have to use tried and true methods and ideas, and thus, you already know these ideas, and can breeze through the game. That's my opinion, anyway. Also, I'd like to introduce you to a lovely word: HYPE! Max Payne was pretty hyped before it came out. You have to keep your expectations low or you're always in for disappointment. Again, my opinion, take it or throw it out an airlock.
  21. This makes a little bit of sense, especially in GCO. Remember, there is a Journalist caste, and the way the "news" could be set up could be a special comm channel devoted to message from these guys, and only they could enter messages into it. For example, if they come into a region where Insurgents and Earthcom ships are duking it out, they could inform people that it's going on, and could just "watch" or even take matters into thier own hands, though they might end up with a dead BC Mk3.. To prevent people from abusing the channel, creat special Journalist fleets, and only the leaders of these fleets (producers, if you will) can toggle a switch to allow someone to start covering the event. My two cents...
  22. Heh, the PTA system would probably assume my nieghbors are Gammulans.
