  1. Wow, they actually invented a new grade just for that. Reminds me of the old Battlecrusier 1.0 reviews.
  2. Hmmm, makes me wish I was an artist.
  3. Not a bad idea. I'm a busy man in RL (I'm taking 16 credits, not to mention that band thing), but I'll come to as many as I can.
  4. quote: The GCV-Weatherlight, being towed after massive engine damage. Don't look at me, I didn't do it!
  5. I saw the new ISS roster. Very nice! And yes, it looks like the Inurgency is looking for fresh blood as badly as we were back in the day. But the Gammulan fleet...
  6. They're right. With SC behind it all, it will get better!
  7. OK, I'll take your word on it, and move on.
  8. Hold the phone, if you really want a super carrier (like mine ), join the ISS. We have more big ships than any other fleet, because of our defensive nature.
  9. I don't mean to sound rude or anything here (please don't eat me ), but I've been doing all sorts of maneuvering so as to expose different parts of the ship, but it is still completely gutted at 80%. Really, the logistix computer was one of THREE systems above 15%, not including hull/armor (there's at least 20 or 30 total). Even if they blew a hole in my armor, how did they succeed in knocking out virtually EVERY system on the ship?! I've never seen any other ship that, when damaged, was at 5 int (mean of all interior systems). Starstations, for example. I tried even turning off my PTA turrets and focused my IOD on one spot on that station. It's hull was about 20% before it's internal hit 80%. I don't mean to offend anyone, but no one has mentioned that NPC ships lose most of their armor before taking significant internals. Sorry if I seem abrasive here, but these observations don't agree with the way SC says it should work. It's your game, make it the way you wish. Just my $0.02. EDIT: I really need that new keyboard. The S key is still unresponive. [ 12-06-2001: Message edited by: Urza ]
  10. Here's a nickel. Buy yourself some capital letters. Anyway, if someone cloaks near me, I just cloak too.
  11. I had already seen some of those.
  12. I program too, so I know the hassles of changeing something the game is built around, but still, it would be a nice feature.
  13. I have my own tale to relate, but prepare yourselves, for it is even more bleak than the last one. I was in my Firestorm, minding my own business in the Earth region. I had just launched from GalCom HQ after selling minerals from a mining expedition on Earth. It was very profitable, and I had enough money max out my upgrades at once! My entire crew was very tired, and everyone except the CE and his systems engineers were off duty. My reactor, shields, hull, and engines were at 50% as I had just started upgrading all of them at once, assigning 5 engineers to each. At that point, my radar beeped, and the CAS started blinking red: a Credian Stormcarrier had entered the region! I saw it was targeting GalCom HQ, and since I was near it, I engaged my thrusters to full (at that point I was only going 425 m/s). I then ordered my other officers to their stations (much to their discust). The stormcarrier arrived at the station well before I did, due to my under-prepared engines. It proceeded to attack the station. The station destroyed it well before I got there, but not before it launced several fighters, who also attacked the station. I arrived and proceeded to attack the fighters with my PTA, even though my TO was still hitting the snooze on her commlink, and my turrets were underpowered due to the reactor being at 60%. Then, to my surprise, I noticed that GalCom HQ's shields were down and it was taking hull damage. I quickly ordered my pilots to their fighters, but it was too late. I heard "target destroyed", and a huge explosion filled my bridgeviewer. GalCom HQ has just exploded! At this point, my officers were finally getting back to their stations and my systems were starting to come back to normal. The Credian fighters were eliminated with ease, but their raid was sucessful. I wonder if they had actually timed their attack to coinside with my mass upgrade? On another note, how long does it take to rebuild a station? [ 12-05-2001: Message edited by: Urza ]
  14. The sig logos have stopped working. Anyone know why?
  15. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: heh. Anyway, if you recall, I did say that I won't release this patch until that persistent damageFX issue was fixed. Well, its fixed now. So, this patch is going to be cooked for a few more days, then it goes final on Friday. btw, I can assume that your problems have magically disappeared, now that you've stopped using invalid saved games? Yup. Works as sweet as a nut. In fact, it hasn't crahed yet since RC5. A patch a day keeps the bugs away!
  16. Jeez, by the time we have an official 1.0.02 patch out, we'll be up to RC 54!
  17. Oh, okay. I've been doing the same thing on my end. EDIT: Wow, that was a fast download! 20 secs at 200K/sec. I'm just used to slow servers that only have so much available bandwith. ANOTHER EDIT: I need a new keyboard. The S key is getting a little flaky. [ 12-05-2001: Message edited by: Urza ]
  18. quote:get the PAD as soon as you can It won't be useful until you have enough AI to analyze it.
  19. Raising skeptisism shields... EDIT: Where do you keep putting these patches? I can never seem to find them. [ 12-04-2001: Message edited by: Urza ]
  20. quote: I believe it's called "Ludicrous Stop" We can't stop! It's too dangerous! We have to slow down first!
  21. you come home from work satisfied that your AI went up a few points... you ask your grocer where you can find the nutripacks... you look in your medicine cabinet for medipacks, cant find any, and ask your wife why she didn't tell you...
  22. Is everyone in the GalCom fleets Terran? There are other GalCom races, you know...
  23. I'll conclude this investigation with a summary of my findings. For officers and pilots, AI starts between 15 and 25. For other crewmen, it's something like 5 to 20 (not certain). AI will increase at a rate of 1 point per 2 hours of work(not necessarily "on station"; as a general rule, if their FF is going up without getting hurt, he is working), give or take 30 minutes. If a crewman dies, and you buy a replacement, he'll start at the standard crewman rate (5-20). If an officer or pilot dies and they are cloned, their AI will be reset to what it was at the beginning of the game (15-25). Therefore, if an officer had a starting AI of 20, he could never have an AI below that. Pilots' DF and BM skills supposedly increase with CMs and CKs, though I have never noticed any change. If any of that is inaccurate, tell me, and I'll change it.
  24. BCM VCF: quote: So, don't hate me. Hate you? After all you've done, how could I hate you? It doesn't really matter to me, as I've restarted my campagn at least five times already. I'm going to reinstall the game, apply the new patch, and start fresh. Hopefully, this will clear up some instability issues.
