Racism still exists in this country, Any person of color knows this. However Reid's statements are baseless and the worst kind of political pandering and blunt REAL complaints about race and class in this country. This type of gamesmenship also adds grist to the millfor those who already underestimate the cost of racism in a diverse society. As a self avowed progressive I see not a thing wrong with the citizens of a country being required to actually speak the Language It is this kind of lilly-livered rhetoric that is drving me out of the Democratic party. Do us ALL a favor and vote this ******* out asap.

Well boys and girls it draws closer. It really seems like we will be making the move and am I nervous. I have spent a good portion of my life in Western PA and love it here but it is too difficult a proposition to work in Human Services here . The wife has been offered a salary about 23,000 dollars in excess of her current salary of about 50k. She is going back out PHX next week and i had not even started looking for anything yet. After posting a resume on a few sites I returned home after work to find six phone calls and about twenty emails requesting interviews WOW! Where I work now I am about to have the task of laying off more staff (third round of layoffs in 2 1/2 years) I feel sick everytime I have to do this and know that one day I will be on the short end of that stick. So this could behappening real soon, but I would appreciate input from you folks if you have an opinion and some time.

Kal, sometimes people" Play the race card" as you call it, (btw I find that term very offensive since it infers people are never treated unfairly due to race} sometimes people actually have legit gripes about how they are treated based on skin color. We have now in this country become annoyed when people notice they've been wronged. This is not the case with Ms McKinney who is an embarrassment and an idiot. $ilk you are so right about this yahoo.

Rep.Cynthia McKinney recently charged a Capital policeman who stopped her at a security check was motivated by Racism. Rep. Tom DeLay recently called McKinney a "racist" denying that racism played any part. I do not think white people are good judges of whether or not an act is racist or not. I also feel that I am probably less likely to judge racist acts commited by blacks against whites or whether something is anti- semitic or not. What I do know is that Rep mcKinney is wrong,wrong,wrong. We all must accept that 9-11 changed everything and she needs to grow up.
