  1. They have a write-up on their website
  2. If you can, please edit your post to show the link for him.
  3. The halt command is within the current base context. If you leave a base, they will/should follow you. That's how it has always worked.
  4. No it's not. They are two different product. e.g. one has multiplayer and the other doesn't. BCM (freeware) vs BCM Gold Neither one is available for sale. You can try Amazon or eBay.
  5. It works as designed. When you give them an interim command (e.g. rearm), their original escort command takes precendence. The game doesn't store anything regarding gameplay mechanics in the registry.
  6. I wouldn't say that it's kicking up again. A bunch of indie space games won't ignite the bygone days of glory.
  7. Yeah - they never did update it looks like. Thanks for the reminder - I will look into it.
  8. It worked when I last tried it. So you might want to try it again.
  9. Send an email to the support address and we'll help you out with that.
  10. Yup - it has been that long. And we ALL got old.
  11. No - but since we're not accepting everybody - only a small amount - it helps. You regular guys who've been around forever (almost) are not subject to that of course, since you will all be accepted when the time comes.
  12. New spectacular aerial shots are up on the game's Facebook page. If you didn't already, you need to like that page if you want to be considered for the closed Beta.
  13. Wow, sad to think that every one of those games listed, were either canned or failed to make a dent. Then I came across Squad Wars yesterday by some of the guys from Jumpgate and such.
  14. There is an on-camera interview now up on Gametrailers. Quite interesting to read the comments in both the SD and HD versions. heh
  15. Oh wow! Look what the cat dragged in! Hi Remo!! Long time
  16. Anyone who is not already a fan of the FB page, should not come crying to me when you can't get into the Beta. No, signing up is not a guarantee that you will be accepted and be given a key.
  17. A couple of low grade shakey cam trailers from the Alpha build are up on GameTrailers. Part 1 and Part II
  18. Indeed. Anyway, I have been working on a series of dev blogs for the site, along with pre-requisite videos (e.g. see the wingsuit jump in the article over at The Verge) to go with them. I'm just so swamped, that I have to juggle my schedule as best I can. Even the Alganon fans are barking at me for updates.
  19. A mashup of interview, preview and opinion. You can read it over here Russ did a fair piece, though I do not agree with some of his statements e.g. If we go by the formula that every derivative (which includes sequels) work is the same game, then we might as well go tell the industry that they've only made hundreds of games - not thousands. Just because they are derivatives, doesn't mean they were free to make and that they don't count. I mean, we're not talking about books getting an second edition refresh here.
  20. I think you're completely off the mark here. These are the facts: Planetside was released in 2001. It was an FPS game with MMO-like features. It failed because it was ahead of its time back then. Prior to Planetside, most of my games - all of which pre-dated Planetside - already had over 90% of the features in LOD - including Planetside All Aspect Warfare was released in Q4/2009 LOD went into development because I wanted to do a tighter, more detailed game - similar to AAW - but with an SAS (Software As as Service) model without doing a new game every two years Planetside 2 was announced on July 8, 2011 - long after LOD went into development in Q1/2010 Only the people who have no clue about our games are comparing LOD to Planetside2 and saying we're copying them. That's pure uninformed nonsense. In fact, all there is to the fact that LOD and Planetside2 are the only upcoming high-end FPS games. When compared to Tribes Ascend and Firefall, those two are totally different types/style of games and the four have very few things in common. Fact is that almost every game is a derivative of another - but my games are not. Which is why they are in a very niche category. Comparing LOD to Planetside2 is like comparing BF3 to MW3. The only thing they have in common is the genre. Nothing else. And please don't compare us to Too Human. We've never talked up a game and not done exactly that game - or have the game fail miserably. There is a reason why we've done over 14 games to date and two currently in development: we know our limitations and the type of games that we want to make. We don't care about what anyone else is doing.
  21. It has nothing to do with being a business decision. Windows XP is a legacy OS and like most devs moving forward, we're just not going to support it because it requires us to maintain legacy code which we are simply not going to do. Since XP, we have had Vista and 7. Now Windows8 is on the way. That is almost three generations back. For that, we might as well have supported Win 3.1 back when we were developing on Windows XP.
