  1. Though I only stated playing the series seriously with BCM, i've got to say that those are nice pics.

(Derek, this goest to you too.if someone criticizes your game, doesnt mean that this makes it bad in all aspects.i think u take this far verry personaly.if this,my post disrupted your good mood,i appologise for that was not what i intended). At least i am sincere and i dont stab people in their backs. The GAME must be supported,to get into its full galore!(just wait BCG!) so ppl, support THE GAME...talk about THE GAME...try to make things better for THE GAME and the comunity. And i said that before, and to other people:Since i dont know Derek in person,i judge him by his work and what effort he made for this comunity to exist today. .... Cheers I'm sorry, but that does not compute, the SC and the BC series go hand in hand. Each compliment eachother and they exist as a whole. And they have a lot in common too. In game I sometims think I know what I'm doing, and then I get killed for some random reason.. ack!! Here, on the forums, I think I know what I'm saying but then I get told to siddown and shut it! See what I mean It's a great feeling [ 05-07-2003, 08:11 PM: Message edited by: Fractux ]
  3. I like the influx of new players because I can can finally answer some questions while inflating my head
  4. For the Garid, I'll vote for the 'd.jpg' as well. For input wise, all I can say is keep up the good work. You're making these ships look really amazing I'll still have to get back to you about hosting those files. I've been busy lately and so has my brother with other things more pressing than our network setup. Cheers!
  5. I must say, looks very nice indeed. I may be able to host some of your final texture pakages as well, but we're still setting up the network so I'll get back to you on that. It may take a little while before we get things set up. Cheers!
  6. Cool, I'm anxious to see what you've done. Cheers!
  7. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: Fragging before playing BCM - or any game - is pure bollocks. All that does is provide faster disk access due to less fragmented disk blocks. The only reason why the patch won't find the bcm.exe is if the patch was NOT executed from the folder where that file resides. Thats the FIRST place it looks and it will NOT look ANYWHERE else unless it does NOT find it there. Hence the reason to apply the patch FROM the install folder. SC, I'm telling you the patch was in the folder and that's what happened to me. I tried it twice with the same results. So if that's not supposed to happen, well it did for me and guess it's something on my comp. That's all I was saying.
  8. Hmmm I'm just cheking out the Medievia site. Looks very interesting. Cheers!
  9. I had a problem like this. I had a fresh install of BCM. Right after it was finished installing, I defraged the partition I have it on. Then I tried to apply the 1.08 patch from the BCM directory. When I did this, the patch did not find bcm.exe right away, which I found strange since all the other patches had found the exe when in the BCM folder. Anyways installed the patch and found that i had these same crashing problems you guys are reporting. Though it may not be for the same reason, but here's what I did and what worked for me. So I uninstalled, and cleared the BCM folder. THen I did a fresh install and defragged the disk. Then I ran BCM once, just loading to the title screen, and then I quit. Then I tried to install the BCM 1.08 from the directory, and it found bcm.exe right away. After that second install, it all worked fine. And I've been folowing the advice posted by Tyrn in this thread by just defragging before I play BCM. Cheers!
  10. Interesting site, but not what I expected lol. Never heard of portal of evil before.
  11. quote:Originally posted by jureidinim: What about the other part of AlephZero's post? I'm relatively new to the game, but it's a bit disconcerting to know that an entire base can be wiped out with one ground vehicle. As long as you are the one piloting it, you can wipe out a base with a single apc or a fighter. Racks up a lot of XP. And you can walk on to your ship after and have your crew wonder how the heck you did that!. If you send your pilots in though, that won't happen. You have to plan out the attacks very carefully for things to go well I've found. I'd be cool to see a vet put gtogether a snippet on the best way to attack ground bases and setting waypoints and targets. Until then.. I just keep experimenting I admit though that ground bases don't seem to provide any obstacle to you at all when you are piloting. Anyways, I'm really just waiting on BCG where we cn capture bases. It'll make it more interesting. Though i hope we won't be able to wipe out a base with a single apc or fighter. it'd make it a real challenge everytime, and it wouldn't really be the XP gift packages they are, IMHO. Cheers!

I realize you don`t have time to waste, so I`ll keep trying to reproduce it, and if I can, I`ll post back here. Cheers! [ 04-27-2003, 10:40 PM: Message edited by: Fractux ]
  13. In BCM I was in orbit around earth. My marines [my craft was a NIGHTSTAR] had been in the transporter room for some time, and so I wanted to deploy my first 10 marines on a hillside near a hostile MBASE04 in EARTH308. As you can see in the screen shot There is no box around marines 5-10. I was completely unable to select these marine, and no orders menu would pop up for them. I then tried the following: - Loaded my first saved game [i was using my third saved game file when I had this problem]where marines were not in transported room. - sent the first 10 marines to transporter room - Deployed the marines in the same MZONE as mentioned. I could select all 10 of them. So I then exited the game, and rebooted. - I loaded up my third save file, which the problem had occured in. - The marines are already in the transporter room, as they had been when I saved the game. So I tried deploying them right away to the same MZONE. I could only select marines 1-4. I then tried again with the 1 save file, and deployment was successfull. And tried again with the 3rd save file, but I had the same problem The only things I had done between my 1st save game, and the 3rd save was: -land my CC on Earth [NOTE: before I landed on Earth I already had the marines (1-10) in the transporter room, and they stayed there until I attempted to deploy them and found this "problem"]. - took a shuttle run to the moon to collect my drone minerls and then sold them at wraith. - Then I went back to my CC, and took off from the planet. - Then I attempted to deploy my marines, and got this problem. Even stranger is that after I deployed my marines in the 3rd save file where I was having this problem, I saved the game with the marines deployed. I loaded up BCM again and was able to load all of my other saved games, and play with no problems. But after i loaded the save game with the marines deployed, everything would work fine, but the game would crash ONLY if the first planet i attempted to observe was earth. if I observed the moon first, I could then observe the Earth afterwards, and i could still only select marines 1-4. I also attempted to deploy my marines in about 10 other MZONES i just picked out of the blue and I got some wierd results. I would always get the message that 10 people had been deployed, but I would either only be able to select marines 1 - 4 or, there would just be no marines present. They would be listed as deployed in my perscan, but they were not physically visible, nor could I select them, or observe them through any command menu. And my transporter is at 100%.. just had to thrown that in. I have not been able to reproduce this during gameplay, so I don't know what made the problem occur. I don't want to waste anyone's time looking into this, as I have done before. But this seems like more than a system issue. If I am wrong, then forgive me, or flame me [ 04-27-2003, 09:21 PM: Message edited by: Fractux ]

With no other options I told my chief engineer to inflate Resnig so we could use him as a life raft but my chief then reminded me that we were in space so that nixed that whole deal. Hey, In space no one can hear Resnig scream...On that note, I have to say resnig has saved my butt several times. I've made it standard issue for Resnig to wear a bright fluorescent jump suit, espeically when in enemy territory. We put him a 300m away from every one else. He helps us locate the source of incoming fire. He's a really great bullet stopper too. I think the doc is mad at me, he's sick of seeing resnig all the time.
  15. I got in as well. Waiting for the CD's as well. Be nice to try this game out, and from what I'm reading on the forums there will actually be many bugs for us to investigate... hehe Cheers!
  16. Well, the vandal was my favorite fighter in BCM, and now it got even nicer. Make me think twice about scratching the paint.

I suggest everyone read through these, and post more links to news sites, especially independent sites. I'm finding news sources of info all the time. I really like one quote from Euronews called "No Comment". BTW I'm still looking to try and find a free Arabic to English translator for now, because I don't want to pay for the ajeeb site.
  18. Yep. It was imminent, and now, inevitable. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/2862273.stm quote: The United States says American forces will enter Iraq to search for weapons of mass destruction even if President Saddam Hussein complies with an ultimatum to leave.
  19. ATI history is tue, but it has changed drastically. Just go read reviews on toms, or anadtech or [H], and you can see that ATI has made quite the turnaround in driver support. All it really comes down to, for me, is the best price/performance ratio I can get. And right now, ATI's in the lead, but I dont have 600$ to spend anyways.
  20. Well, I use EVRSOFT's 1st Page 2000, as its a great free HTML editor. I suggest you check it out. I gues even if you don't code in HTML, everything is easy to do if you go into begiiner mode. You can ask for a table and it'll ask you how many colums and rows you want and for any other variables you want to set, if you don't code the HTML directly. Cheers!

With 1007 with 1008rc17 didn't happen, I played hours and hourswith them, but I take the game again, apply the patch (with a fresh installation) and... . Perhaps do you know why? Thank you very much on advance. Perhaps you should try the newest patch v1.08.36 and see if that works? I`m still using RC33 in my game and it is rather stable.
  22. Just follow the green paper trail... [For a more entertaining version, see below] ------ "Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun. Orbiting this at a distance of roughly ninety-two million miles is an utterly insignificant little blue green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea. This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy. And so the problem remained; lots of the people were mean, and most of them were miserable, even the ones with digital watches." -Douglass Adams
  23. It looks like this could be really cool.

Nope, I`m not saying that at all. And I didn`t say that. In fact, I didn`t want to say anything more or get into a discussion about international politics. I just wanted to point out a story that reminds people about exactly what you are talking about. And I agree that NATO and the UN is becoming irrelevant for the US government. But that sure as heck doesn`t mean that either has no value. Also this article caught my attention because of a discussion I had last week with several people. One big question that came up which no one could answer was that while the US government would like to force a regime change on Iraq, who exactly are they going to replace Sadam with? I`m sure if they go that far they sure do not want another Noriega on their hands.
