  1. 7: Use the Random weapon on some upleasant planet. 8: Try to do it all before the next patch. Idaho
  2. Only point I could bring up Frax: No one can force a guard/prison worker to press that button. He has options. Like anyone at any job. He doesn't like it, let him find another job. Pretty simple. For the record, I don't believe any state would allow anyone to be FORCED to participate in execution. (With the exception of the convict heheh). Small point, but a point nonetheless. Idaho
  3. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: Just an update to let you know that the testers and I are looking into this Sygan Triangle phenomenon; but so far, nothing concrete yet. You'll know when I know.I'm just tickled that my 'Sygan Triangle' name stuck. Idaho
  4. Bigger than BCO? (That would be hard to believe) Idaho
  5. Doom! Despair! Can I write the screenplay? Idaho
  6. It's okay. We still have Derek Smart. Guess we shouldn't be griping. Idaho
  7. Yeah MP will be big fun. But I'm waiting on BCO. I think that's where the REAL fun begins. I better get my affairs in order before that game hits the shelves. Idaho
  8. Grayfox, The cartoon was on TNT for a while, that much I remember. I don't think it made it past a season. I didn't make it past the first episode. I think it's name was Wing Commander Academy. On the WC movie, yes, Chris Roberts directed. Idaho
  9. Bowemeth, I like the Megaron. But in defense of cruisers: Send your fighters at me in my Sunflash. I'll show you some very dead fighters. If I decide to kill something you want to protect: Good luck getting there before I'm done killing it. (Although if it was MP, player controlled fighters would be a threat to me). If I come after you and do you damage, you better have HSD, or you ain't getting away. Jump, and I'll be waiting at the other end every time. (Of course, you DO have cloak, so even there you're not really in trouble). But yes, I've been thinking my next character will have the Megaron. I've been avoiding it since I started messing with the Sunflash. At first, I wouldn't use Cruiser's because they didn't get most of the artifacts. Now, travelling in a carrier reminds me of taking a long train trip. I keep checking my watch. Here's a plus you didn't mention that is good about the Megaron: Intruder's aren't much of a worry, as they are on a Sunflash with only 5 marines of your own. (Mine die at an average rate of 3 a day). Gotta love those red shirts! For the record: Turrets are doubled. 10 turrets on the Megaron, look close at the turrets, 2 guns in each. Thought you'd like to know. Take care, Bowemeth. Idaho
  10. Argh, having bad luck with the edit function. *grumble* Sorry. Idaho [ 03-09-2002, 11:40: Message edited by: Duncan Idaho ]
  11. I for one wish Cris Roberts would come back to the gaming fold. No slur intended to Mr. Roberts, but I don't know of one project he's done outside the gaming industry that's been worth watching. The WC cartoon was dumb, the WC film rotted, and seems we are all at least in general agreement here. But I still play his games! Though there were other good space sims before his Wing Commander, (Starflight!!!! (anyone heard about Starflight 3? It's nearing completion I've heard), Elite), Wing Commander did as much for the genre in it's time as BCM is doing for it now. The genre, and we gamers, need him back. And I think he needs to return to his roots, since that's where he enjoyed success. Chasing dreams is all well and good, but he already had one dream in hand! But then, what do I know. Just an opinion. Idaho
  12. Now I'm afraid to head to Gammulan space. (Haven't made it that far to date!). Grayfox: Heheh, I think I posted once where an intruder stole my spare 'fighter asset', and put it into a shuttle. Still trying to imagine that intruder hauling a complete fighter through the halls of my old Megaron. (Worse still, not one of my marines stopped him to ask what he was up to). Marine: 'Do I know you?' Intruder lugging fighter asset: 'Uhh....yeah.' Marine: 'Oh, okay. Lemme give you a hand with that.' I still think Resnig's in league with my enemies. Idaho
  13. Bowemeth, It's the 'party spot' on Sygan, best 'bar and grill' this side of Lennen. Idaho
  14. ROFLMAO!! I'm gonna buy a copy of that! Idaho
  15. quote:Originally posted by Roberto: I know what you mean about the headaches LOL The only way to take away the flicker is to have a monitor with a refresh rate of 100Hz, then its not noticable, but it still strains your eyes a bit. Have you noticed how after you have used them for about 3 hours that you walk around the house noticing that everything is in 3D Yeah I did when I first got them. It was funny driving the car after I had used them all nightHeheh, I have my monitor set to 120hz when I use the glasses, and it still flickers, and gives me headaches, but I'm prone to them. Yeah, I've noticed that stuff looks more 3D than normal after long use when you take them off. It's a pretty strange effect. I used them most on the game Sin, which looked pretty good. Haven't pulled the things out to try with BCM yet. Soon maybe. Idaho
  16. quote:Originally posted by Sunanta: I'm not really at all surprised by the Megaron's results; its by far and away the best heavy carrier except for its ground assets...Yeah, I'd like to have a BCMk2 though, with all guns and turrets of the megaron. THe Mk2 just looks so darned sweet. Mk3 isn't too bad either, but I can't help but think of the 'Tiger's Claw' from Wing Commander when I see it heheh. Really, I've grown quite fond of several of the ships in the game. Starwarrior is nice, best main gun grouping I've seen yet. Idaho
  17. I haven't heard this one. But, it wouldn't surprise me. Would surprise me even less if they made it "Xbox only" or some crap. Idaho
  18. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: Sounds like an intruder with a very high AI level. Those are the only types that sabotage ships if they can't get away and you try to tractor them. The same kind who booby trap cargo pods.Ugh...I hate those PhD toting marines! They radiated my whole crew once by sabotaging my reactor. I'd never been so surprised! Idaho
  19. Heheh, Megaron rules, it's fast, has 4 main guns, has lots of turrets, it's as close as you can get to a Sunflash with fighters. (Now, if you could only get the thing to hyperjump out of it's own way! lol) I'm also surprised, I didn't think that many others liked the Sunflash! Idaho
  20. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: heh, I got the shots but I can't quite make any sense of it all. So, I'm going to go and reproduce your steps using the same saved game. btw, that 'tear' you see in the Tacops view, is because you placed the camera under the ground. I've already discussed this, so no need to go into any further detail.Well that got us somewhere then, I was pretty sure that 'tear' or 'crack' in Tacops was what you'd mentioned above. I'm with you! That's one strange problem. If you do manage to see it, you'll stop thinking I'm completely insane. (You'll just think I'm mostly insane). Idaho
  21. I had a little fun today. I took my Sunflash out orbital bombing Insurgent bases, (my hobby), and was looking at two bases on the map...and I realized they were pretty close together. So I clicked between them, and scoped it out a little. Yup, pretty close. Dropped a bugnor right there between them. Boom! 2 bases gone, almost 12,000 exp right there. Needless to say, I was quite pleased with myself. Maximum return for my investment. "You now have Fleet Command and Control" Kaching! Idaho
  22. quote:Originally posted by Duncan Idaho: quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: quote:Originally posted by Duncan Idaho: Either way, I think I'm gonna have a bumper sticker made..."I believe in the Sygan Triangle". IdahoDownload my saved game and check it out. I am at the EXACT location (give or take a few yards, since I was walking about). And if you go into Tacops, there are NO buildings within range and on THAT map. So, I don't know what X is talking about. And if you going to this Sygan Triangle location still causes problems, send me your saved game and I'll check it out. Remember, if you see a land mass on the top-level GBM (Global BitMap) which is displayed when you first launch TacOps, clicking on water, will put you at a water level location. Due to the pixel resolution, this may not seem obvious, which is why you should not make it a habit of going to parts of a planet that you are not sure of. Ugh, pressed reply somehow before I got to type. Okay, here's what I did: Loaded your save. You were right. Everything was fine. Thinking a bit, I decided to play around. I sent my AE to a shuttle. (After going to Sickbay, he was radiated). Once in the shuttle, I turned and flew away , and up just a little, turned around to scope out the scene...and guess what? The triangle had swallowed my CC. I can target it, but it's underground. I'm sending a screenshot of that to you. Then, I dropped my OC near where the CC was. It promptly vanished. I couldn't land, it wouldn't go to 'taxi', so, I flew away a bit, and finally, it went to taxi, and I got out. Found the OC with the TDU, bumped into it as described before, but it was not visible. Proceeded to walk toward the CC, following the TDU... After a bit of a walk, suddenly, I seemed to fall through the ground or something, and there was the CC, and the OC, but then, the shuttle was gone. Don't know what to tell you. It was fine, until I repeated my 'shuttle to OC to on foot' performance of my last attempt. I'll send you a few screens to have a look at. Maybe they'll make some sense to you, they just bewilder me. Heheh. Idaho

In my opinion (And i'm always right ) justify taking the life of another, they should be kept from doing harm to other individuals, and their privileges such as TV, games etc. should be taken away. Heheh, Aren't gonna hurt many people, or use many privileges when you're dead. Hmm, and...well, if you have the death penalty for anything, why draw the line treason? Seems like a strange place to draw the line to me, with serial murderers, child molesters, and all sorts of other freaks running around out there. I think I'd rather have the treasonous spy around than the others. At least he'd have some good stories to tell. Cheers! Idaho
  24. Yeah, I like the Questar too, (coolest looking cruiser, IMHO). Still something to be said for the quick jump times of the Sunflash though. Idaho
  25. Whew, did someone turn up the thermostat in here? Who's hoggin' the damned popcorn! Oh well, yeah, I see a lot of people agree that we shouldn't have to shoulder the burden of supporting these heinous criminal's in prison. Yet, some think it's worse to just get rid of them. I kinda see both sides. You won't hear me hawking 'death penalty for parking violations.' (Much as I'd like the parking problems solved). But repeated violent crimes, or murder, and probably a few other things, I say send them to their maker, and let their maker pick their punishment. Idaho
