  1. Looking at other books of this type, mostly in the Star Trek range, they run around 20 bucks which isn't so bad. The 60 bucks is just what I would be willing to pay Yah, it is wishful thinking at its best. Would still like to see a picture of all the ships in scale to each other with a human for reference. Kind of akin to the Eve has released a long time ago with all their ships. You think companies actually make money on books like this ? Who knows selling them in major book stores might renew interest in UC:CE Too
  2. Seeing as how UC : CE is the last game in the saga of perfection that we know as Battlecruiser 3000AD I thought of a wonderful way for SC to garner some additonal income for his company (Thus allowing him to produce even more fantastic games in the future) You may have already thought of this, but just incase I would like to lay out my dream. Could you imagine a book, a nice big book, dedicated to Battlecruiser 3000ad and UC and all related games? This book would be big, like the art books you can get. One section would contain giant glossy photo type pictures of every ship in Battlecruiser for 3 different angles (above, to the side, head on) for example, and the oppiste page or next page would contain all the information on the ship as of UC:CE, in other words the final information. It would show its upgrades, troop counts, fighter types ect so that you could get all sorts of info on it from reading it. Maybe there could be some flavor text about how it was deisgned and built or concept art for it (if that exists) Do this for every ship in the game, maybe even smaller assets like gunships and fighters. Next a section dedicated to the races of the universe, history about each one, lots of flavor text and concept art as well as the evolution of them from BC3000AD to UC:CE. In the middle a nice removable poster for you wall that contains EVERY ship in UC:CE to scale to each other, with the space stations in the corner, then carriers/battle cruiser and armed transports all the way down to the smallest tanks, maybe the empire state building and Eifle tower, then finally a person all to scale so you can see how truely big everything is in the universe. Next maybe a section of SC and his life with a nice long interview with him about the legacy of Battlecruiser. For one I'd love to ask him this queston : If you had a chance to make any game you want, with unlimited money/resources to do everything you could dream without restriction , what kind of game would you make? I'm sure that could fill up an entire chapter, or maybe only a single line Also a chapter on the history of BC3000AD From the start to UC:CE with all the ups and downs, publisher issues and internet battles ect. Sections on weapons with cool diagrams on how they work and a big galaxy map with beautiful art work (The one that exists is good enough for this in my opinon) This book would more or less big a giant Encyclopedia Battlecruiser 3000AD. Personally I would pay like 60 - 100 dollars for something like this, but I love these kinds of books. Have you ever considered doing something like this SC, as a end cap to a wonder era in gaming?
  3. Is the fleet still alive? I know I've not answered a roll call in forever and I know I've been removed. Just wondering if there is even a fleet to come back to since the website seems to be down -Edited Days and Days Later- Uh actually I don't think I was ever IN this fleet to begin with O.o Man my memory is bad, I think I was in the insurgent fleet. Just ignore me, as was already being done lol.
  4. It makes me sad to come back here and see most threads havn't been posted in since march and no updates to dev blogs in months. I was just wondering if maybe I'm missing something. Is the community still active some place else or is everyone waiting for GCO and Knightblade? Do people still playing multiplayer and do the fleets still meet in thier own forums some place? Just wondering if everything is dead and gone or what. How is 3000AD doing SC ? Would you personally rate your last 5 years as a great, average, just barely scrapping by, or bad? I know you've released a lot of games in the last 5 years, though they are mostly just updated versions of the same game until Echo Squad. Just wondering how things are going for you , I hope good ^ _ ^ I hope to see 3000AD for the first of my natural life in one form or anything just like I hope for Stardock to hang around forever. Without you creating interesting and mold breaking products, lookig for ways to buck the trends and reignite genres I'm afraid EA and Microsoft will ruin everything.
  5. Congrats man! This is a little late coming but hey, its still before you actually get married so I'm okay I think Enjoy it while you can mate, being married with out children is one of the best times in my life! Just a suggestion but you should live with her for a while before you get married if you havn't already and show her your worst worst worst side, the side she'll see after you're married for a few years If she can stand you acting the way you act when no one else is around then she's a keeper. just be prepared for her worst side if you havn't seen it yet. Nothing is worse than being stuck in a house with a woman who's having trouble coping with her special time of the month Any how, congrats!!!!
  6. This thread http://www.mechstorm.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=4867 on another forum has convinced me google chrome isn't such a good idea regardless of how good it may appear.
  7. Gag, I knew this wold happen. every one knew it would happen for that matter, every one but EA
  8. It might be interesting to have a multiplayer mode where one team is marines on the ship and the other team is an invading force of Insurgents trying to blow the ship up or kill the commnder or free a prisoner ect, standard FPS fair set on the knight blade, or on planet maps featured in the game itself, that is the only thing I could think of. But multplayer isn't really needed if you ask me, when you can focus all your attention on the single player portion and rival a game like Halo with this idea. Who needs master chief when you can be a marine I was wondering, it may be a bit early to ask this of course, but is it all going to be episode / mission based or will there be portions that could be different every time? I know you may not be able to answer that at this point and I respect that. Either way I'm looking forward to this game
  9. Sorry for reviving an old topic but it was one I created so I feel jusitifed Update : My daughter is now 19 months old AND -da da da da!! - I have a seven month old SON! They both love to play around with my flight stick while I try to play UC - AWA which has let to many interesting and additonal system failures, I just knock it up to having been invaded by a computer virus lol. My daughter wears my head set an sits down with the joy stick in front of her and watches the computer screen to see what kind of havoc she can cause before she gets bored with it My son just grabs it like it is someone who owes him money and shakes the hell out of it until he falls over and has to attach himself to it. most of the time he's growling at it and spitting all over it too so I'd hate to see how he treats his enemies when he gets older So whats new round here?
  10. Man, that is an incredible find. I still remember the first time I ever played Battlecruiser back when it was released for free on the internets. My computer was 56K so it took days to download it and when I first started it I was just like O.O I didn't know computer games could DO This. I just wanted to do this for not having found it sooner. I still get that feeling today when I play any of these games, that feeling like I'm in way over my head and any second I'm going to die because I still , after all this time, have no idea what I'm doing but that is what makes it so fun. (If you asking yourself, who is this guy or where has he been, answer is my wife won't let me have internets so I have to grab time where I can and normally I use that time for looking for jobs, catching up with older friends, ect but I now I've got a bit of net at work so now and again I can pop into my old haunts I actually started up playing UC AWA again so I figured I'd drop by here to see if anything new is going on)
  11. Shos what I know about the rest of the world, I thought everyone did the day light savings time thing . At any rate after april first Ill be ready to play every Sunday
  12. Oh, sorry Right now up until April 1rst I can play any time after 12:00 AM EST to 6:00 AM on most any night of the week so at the latest that's about Noon GMT right? After April 1rst I will have Sunday and Monday off and my I'll be working from 1:30 pm to 10:00 PM the rest of the week.
  13. Don't blame yourself, I'm just a jerk; ) Question I : Yes, Insurgent Question II : UC:AWA Question III : Team/fleet based action. Other - Online multiplayer events that devine the history of the UC/BC universe on all offical web sites. Example would be a battle created and hosted by Supreme Commander, who's out come would effect the BC/UC universe as fact. Like a battle of a space station, and from then on out if you have the newest patch who ever won the battle in the match will control it in all new Roam games. Would add a sense of gravity to the game eh?
  14. Sadly I won't be able to take part in these matchs until April 1rst (At that time my schedule will shift so that I'm off Sundays) Maybe then I'll be able to join in
  15. It's good to be a member of the fleet. Now I can't wait for the season to start, do you have any of the proposed game times listed any where?
  16. Oh lords you know I'm in. I wanna do my part in slaughtering some Galcom opressors!
  17. And so I Have, Lets see if my sig looks right.
  18. True true, I ran a game with 8 players and it did bog down. However I do have to say that it never became unplayable and it didn't crash. If any of you guys ever wanna play a multiplayer match sometime lemme know. I'm Serodnal on AIM ect.
  19. OOC - I've already registered myself in the fleet database and on the Insurgent forum. If you accept me that is great, if not well . . . I won't hold any hard feelings I'll just have to be an old fashioned pirate.
  20. Greetings honored commanders of the Glorious Insurgent fleets! To long have a served the dog like commanders of Galcom and FAR to long have I suffered the dealings of EarthCom in my day to day affairs. I have come to believe that Earth's best interest is not to be served by the furthering of alliances with Alien races. As of today I resign my position as a commander of Galcom, and with my comes my loyal crew and ship. I do not doubt in the least that this act of treason will garner me a great deal of attention from the EarthCom hunters, so I would like it a great deal if you would accept me as a new and loyal commander. I do sumbit myself in earnst in honest hopes that some day we will be able to rid the galaxy of these oppressive galatic empires and let the peoples will be done.
  21. I'm a little late to the party, wonder if there is any where to find this texture now a day. The links in the post are dead I'm really interested to see what all the hype is about.
  22. My wife can't stand them but I love them. Still, I don't want their insurance
  23. I just picked up the game yesterday and I've got to say that I like it. It certainly isn't a C&C Clone or a Dune 2 clone (Dune 1 was an adventure game, which was actually pretty cool , not an RTS. Dune 2 was the first RTS you guys speak of) I've had no trouble running it and I've got to say its pretty cool. None of the units in the game are Uber enough to where you could swarm the enemy with just 1 or 2 types. You have to use your units together on a massive scale in order to win the day. The single player missions are pretty cool the way each objective reveals more of the map so you're playing several levels on the same map with the same base and units one after the other without having to load the game. And of course, the super units are cool as heck. Who doesn't want a submarine aircraft carrier or a giant spider robot with a microwave cannon ? My personal favorite is the artillery cannon that can shoot clear across the map with pinpoint accuracy. Alls I'm saying is, if you think this is a C&C or WC3 rip off give it a chance. There isn't any game on the market that comes close to this sort of almost global combat. The interface itself is a dream come true. You can actually give your units all sorts of useful orders for example a bomber squadron can be grouped together and ordered to attack 25 diffrent targets with a group of fighters defending them along the way and they will carry out the orders perfectly. Every other game you have to be there to order your bombers onto the next target. Also you can set up ferry systems with your transports so that any unit built at a factory is wisked away to the front lines or you can set up ferry points in the battle field itself to wisk units from one attack point to the other if one side needs back up. Instead of chasing down each unit and trying to find tranports with room all you have to do is order the units you want moved to the ferry point and the system will load and transport them for you with any transport you've ordered onto that point O.o VERY useful. Any how, I think the game is just great and I've never played TA so I'm no fan boy.
  24. Alright then, I'm more than happy to join an Insurgent fleet and be totally loyal to it. What steps must I take to join the Insurgent fleet?
  25. Ah ah , but I'm not a noob! I've been around since 2002 Still, noobie than thou I supose.
