  1. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: btw, my friends over at Stardock, also used Take 2 for their distribution and it seems to have worked well for them. Wow SC, how ironic is it that you are ending the BC/UC franchise as we know it with "Take 2" handling distribution?
  2. Happy Birthday SC! And let's get some new games out the door! I need a fix!
  3. I'm totally excited about this product, especially in boxed format. This version will renew my love for the series. It's been about a year since I have played BC/UC. Congratulations for getting a new product out the door.
  4. Freakin' hilarious. DOH! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16725294/
  5. Given that the series 2 box is a kludge, I'll get one of these when my current subscription expires next year. That should give them a chance to get the bugs out.
  6. Just watching the ads, it looks like a ripoff of The 4400.
  7. It seems to transition from space to the planet's surface way too fast. And the music doesn't fit. But interesting nonetheless.
  8. Hey SC, you keeping secrets from us?? YAY!
  9. quote: spindocktor, if you don't see how for star trek, then the same must go for the rest of the games we speak of, because all are vastly different. Ok, fair enough. I guess I am still waiting for the holy grail of Star Trek gaming, something along the lines of BC/UC depth set in the ST universe. It doesn't look like Bethesda is nuts enough to attempt it. Although they certainly do push the envelope with the Elder Scrolls series. Its just disappointing they don't give their new ST license the same treatment. Instead they seem to be going for the quick license cash grab.
  10. I don't see how any of these Bethesda Star Trek games appeal to BC/UC fans.
  11. Season 3 kicks off tonight with a 2 hour premiere. This is one of TVs best series IMO.
  12. quote:Originally posted by Grayfox: ill watch it when the cubs when the world series... or the phils for that matter Hey, look at the last two WS winners. Why not the Cubbies? As for Firefly / Serenity. Both are on my "to buy" list.
  13. All BC/UC scenarios in one game. Count me in! Sounds like a great product.
  14. Loved the original. I really need to see this in the theatre before its run ends.
  15. quote:Originally posted by The Black Ghost: Im a noob. Where is the join MP shortcut? Hit the ole Start button, then "all programs" -> "3000AD" -> "Universal Combat A World Apart" -> "Multiplayer" -> "Join MP Server".
  16. In the same paragraph that he says the game is for those who wish to play as Picard, he complains that it takes forever to get from one point to another. Warp anyone? And if thats not good enough, what would be the point of playing in a large galaxy if you can teleport from one point to another. You might as well play in a telephone booth.
  17. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: UCAWA is now on IGN's Direct2Drive Way to go SC. I imagine thats a nice site to have the game up for sale. Lots of traffic.
  18. I have that PS. Its a good one. Its hard to find much wrong with how you configured that beast. I was going to mention the usefulness of a DVD burner, but then I saw you have that covered. Good luck with it. I just did a system upgrade stop gap rather than a full mobo replacement. I'm hoping to get by until 64-bit Vista is out, when I will do a complete new build.
  19. 35k sales first week? Nice. I want to play on that big screen setup. I can't imagine how cool a big space battle would be.
  20. quote:Originally posted by $iLk: My concern with activation is simply because WinXP resets after 4 - 6 months or so - as I've activated WinXP about 10 - 12 times since I've owned it. But if UC:AWA is going to reset in 6 months I don't necessarily have an issue... but I do reformat every few months or so. Is there anyway to carry the key through a reformat if the hardware doesn't change? Why are you reformatting every 6 months? The Win 9x days are over. There is no need to refresh Windows that often, unless its to satisfy some analness aspect of your personality. But 10 to 12 Win XP reactivations? Sounds like you are swapping a lot of hardware. Reformatting is defintely going to call for a UCAWA reactivation. EDIT: Actually, I forgot about the manual method. Maybe that would work using an existing hardware code. I'll shut up now, since I really am just guessing. FYI, I recently swapped out a 9800 Pro for a X850XT PE and didn't need to reactivate UCAWA. I guess it flags BIOS updates though.
  21. It would be a good idea for you to update your profile since you are asking for tech. support.
  22. quote:Originally posted by Cmdr Chavik: I avoid bread as much as possible though. I do too. But only the bleached flour white versions. The oat bran/whole wheat varieties are a good source of fiber. I stick with the low carb versions. A low carb diet is a nice way to lose the few extra pounds you might carry. But I digress. I don't want to derail the topic...
  23. quote:Originally posted by Quazar: Diversify to multiple media types, my friend. If you backup those files onto another disk, then you are likely to solve this problem for the future. BTW, I'm looking forward to Chapter 2. Yeah, those USB 2.0 flashdisks are an amazing piece of technology. I love em.
