Thanks for any help Not sure what version you are playing but try this: After the annimation you are in manual control. Hit the '5' on the numeric keypad to level out. Then 'ctrl' E for cals (Computer Aided Landing System) should land you automatically. Are you playing the new game, Universal Combat ? If so ,the engress altitude will vary with different craft.As an experiment try landing with a different craft such as a shuttle or a fighter.

  8. First of all my compliments to all who cancelled orders of UC due to the controversy between 3000AD and Dreamcatcher games on the matter of principal. However the dam is broken.The game has been released and nothing is going to hold it back.You are missing a 'Kick Ass' game.The graphics are fantastic and the game will only get better. I believe there are other ways we can support Derek and 3000AD. For example he can charge for upgrades(I know from other posts he doesn't want to do that), but if necessary he can and I for one will gladly pay.Also some have suggested PayPal direct to him.I will support that as well.Also as I hinted in another post he could charge for GBS. What I am trying to say here is that boycott In my opinion is not the answer to the problem.Supporting 3000AD is the answer.I mean just look at all the new names on the boards.For every ten people who have posted there are probably another hundred who haven't.These people need support from the VETS like yourselves who have boycotted Dreancatcher.So... do yourselves a favor (and the BC Community as well) get the game and lets move forward.

If I read you right your asking if this game is like ,say Starlancer, where you have discourse with characters which give you certain tasks to perform. The short answer is no... however don't panic. This game is also as much about exploration as well as combat.Try the ACM scenario in which you have a specific task to perform within a given time frame.Hopefully the SC will make available the GBS 3 (Game Builder System) in which you write your own scripts.Even if we have to pay for this it will be a HUGE enhancement to the game.

Now I remember Beleive it or not the problem may not be directx support.You also need some audio codecs installed to make the game(or demo)work.Try to dig up a copy of mplayer, the old media player 6 from microsoft.For BCM/BCMG I think you need media player 7 or 8? That was part of the problem,getting those media players to install under wine/winex.Maybe there is better support now.

OK.Now be carefull!From wherever you downloaded these files to, move(or copy) these files to your BCMG directory.Repeat do not attempt to do the patches from anywhere other then the folder where BCMG is installed.If you do not do this some files will not be upgraded properly. OK. After upgrading the game should run.Test it in singleplayer mode first.I personally suggest you play in single player for a while to get a feel for the game.It is not necessarily easy (or hard) to learn depending on what you what to do.There are a lot keyboard commands to learn to take full advantage of the game. At any rate to play MP select the "join mp server" menu item to start MP. If any servers are up available they will be apparent.DreadX has a server up at 16:00 EST and I have my server up usually during the day until his comes on line. And for god's sake save youself much abuse by reading the manual,the manual addendum,the VCF,and the FAQ. Good luck.

Can deploy drone or vehicle no problem. Repeat above in hostile MZ.Repeat above with marine AI 100.Repeat above with a variety of personal.Same result. Be glad to try any suggestions. Thanks.

SC - Thanks for your response.When I was doing my tests I was careful to select flat terrain in the tacops computer.In fact, several times I landed the Command Craft and checked the terrain before dispatching shuttles.Apparently I (we) are missing something.Possibly as the developer of the game you are doing something automatically that the rest of us are missing.Maybe sometime when you are not so busy you could give us a walk through.Thanks. BTW come join the MP on the DreadX server.I am also working on a server but the computer I am using has somewhat marginal specs.

I set waypoints in the normal manner,launch shuttle,the shuttle lands just fine,get the dustoff 5..4..3..2..1.. message,the shuttle takes off with RTB order but the marines are still on board.I have tried this with a variety of different personal with the same result.I have also increased the marines IQ to 100 with playmod but that doesn't seem to help.I can deploy space marines in space around stations with no problem, as well as deploy vehicles on ground with no problem.Anyway if anyone has figured this out I would appreciate a heads up.BTW I have read the manual,the addendum,the VCF,and the FAQ.
  21. I had the same problem with my radeon 9000 AIW after upgrading to the catalyst 3.8 drivers. Everything worked fine after going back to catalyst 3.7. Anybody else have problems with 3.8? BTW do you know what chipset your MB uses?

Moving the saved game out of the saved game folder fixes the problem.
