  2. Oh man, but just imagine what that could have been like for BCM!! It would have been amazing if it didn't got cut. I think 3D cockpits are probably the best in space sims. Just looking all around your cockpit at all that vastness sure makes your jaw drop. Pretty colossal! Hmmmm... I never new there was that many? Perhaps I'll check them out. Time for some demo hunting!!!!!!

  7. Alright, I'm looking to buy a new joystick and I'm wondering what is the best joystuck out there for BCM? One with ease of use and one where all of its functions can be operated fully and efftecivly in BCM. So whatever Joysticks you're using, that you think are kick@ss with BCM, post the name and brand and their features on here for me to take a look at.   8. Ok I've been reading old posts very extensively the past few days trying to figure out something. First off, I read this in the GBS tutorial which sort of gave me hope: quote: The legacy ones (e.g SHOTm4) are more like projectiles. The P class shots (e.g. SHOTm4p) are used for the beam (aka PAD) type shots used by turrets. You cannot use P type shots for guns; only on turrets. So don't try it. And since nothing is stopping you from mounting turrets on a fighter (or any object for that matter), be my guest. OK my silly question is this people; can I replace the turret beam unit model to a single blast unit model? The intended result would be similar to how the turrets were in previous BC games, basically without the beam. If anyone knows if this effect is possible, just reply or PM me.

  10. OK, about these views. Is there anyway of mapping some of view keys to joystick buttons. I know you can already config the joystick through a config INI file, or through the options menu, but you can only map it to some of the functions and not all... But hey, maybe I'm overlooking something... so I'm wondering if you can already do this, but if not, can you do it in UC?

  12. Freelancer looks kind of cool, but it seems sort of linear... Starlancer?? Hmmmmm never heard of it all that much. I think it might have been on the dreamcast though? Hmmmm...   14. I present to you a discussion of EPIC proportions over which games out there, in this is vase game universe of ours, compares or is better than the games of the battle cruiser series. The purpose of this discussion is to also help people, who are interested, find that space game they've always wanted which could provide deep immersion and boundless never ending gameplay. Some ones out there already are: Elite X: Beyond the Frontier Freelancer yada yada and others.... Personally, I think BCM and the upcoming UC are probably the best examples. But havenÔÇÖt never really played any others, only elite, I really donÔÇÖt know. So, with whatever game(s)you mention, try to add personal experiences, the various features/details and generally why you think it fits in this category...
  15. Oh My GAWD!!! that movie was kick@ss!!!! SC you are the man!! Those particles effects are sweet!! Along with everything else too!! One question, what sort of system specs did you have for that movie, the Ultimate or the recommended requirements? I REALLY want to play UC to its full potential now, because man! Did you see those effects?!?! Unbelievable!! It really felt like I was there...really!! One could easily immerse themselves with this game! Great job SC! You are certainly blessed with some kick@ss talent!! Great great movie!! And I can't wait for the next one!!!
  16. Alright... I'm curious, Does anyone know if the we'll be able to, in UC, map or customize ALL of the keys to whatever we see fit in the options menu? And if we can't do it by that way , is there a way you can customize ALL of the keys through one of the INI files? and Which one?
  17. Haha AND SC would never do it in the first place. He didn't upload the BCM manual, and there is no way he'd do it for UC. Plain and simple. Plus, You know what he'll say anyways, "N-O." What else needs to be said here? Discussion CLOSED...

Man, The longevity of this game could be outstanding if were able to mod like half-life and those other games quote: Adding new models to the game is not as easy as creating as script and using existing models. It is a major undertaking which requires not only hardcore knowledge, but also dedication seen by folks who do high-end mods (e.g. Total Conversions) such as those seen for BF1942 and similar games. Sure you can replace the ZS10 combat rifle with an M16, but without any low level changes, you can only backup several files (e.g. ZS10.3D, ItemMgr.ini) then rename the new models to match. In most cases you simply cannot add new model classes to the game without access to the game engine code. GBS-III does not provide such code access. As such you are stuck with replacing existing models and using their classes instead (e.g. replacing an ICMK1 model with an F16 model). Ok its understood that itll be difficult to create NEW model classes so therefore it'll be easier to mod whats already there. So will a modder be able to create models for the FPS characters for each given race? We all know that UC uses the same player models for each race in the game. And since the class or set is already provided in the script, the gammulan marine or the Empirian medic etc etc , will we be able to create a different variety of player models for each race?
  22. Could all this mean that UC could, someday, become an enormous and gigantic mod community, like some of the other games out there??? *imagines what that would be like* WOW!! Just think of the possibilities and potential!! Man, I got some big dreams going on me head right now I gotta lie down, getting dizzy What are peoples thoughts on this???
