  1. That's zarking brilliant work Ben! What a fantastic idea! My hat's off to you, this is something that I think we'll benefit from.
  2. Well don't forget that your presence in the community and your ability to play the game are not the same thing. You can participate and advance without having the current version of the game installed. If you have time, that's great, if you don't have an eligible computer, that's not a dealbreaker. Give it a little thought, experienced commanders are valuable to us.
  3. Cheers to Quazar too for rousting the inactive folks. Honestly, since he wasn't in the fleet db, I'm not sure how you would have known otherwise. Hope your other prospects for EarthCOM are better, good luck!
  4. Yeah, you'll also need to reapply to the ISS fleet in the fleet database. I noted that Jeehun Ristar isn't present in our fleet db roles either, so sign up so we can get you back online guys!
  5. Hey Buck, Might want to get yourself over to our new site (issfleet.com) and register. Get involved man! There's plenty to do, and there's a new release to play with. Welcome back!
  6. Welcome back Nick, looks like our vets are here to stay!
  7. Jeehun Ristar! Glad to meet you. I'm especially pleased to find "old-timers" since we've added so much to the fleet. If you haven't already, check out our fleet site at www.issfleet.com, and get registered there so we can get you updated. Wings, leadership, and other things have changed since you've been gone, and we'll need to get you back up to speed. I'll be especially interested to hear your thoughts on the fleet history I compiled/edited/composed from the various stuff out there. Anyway, welcome back, and clear skies!
  8. I'll be out this week until next Friday. This is probably for the best considering that I shall desire something to distract me from the fact that I have not the money for UCAWA at this moment! At any rate, I don't expect the fine commanders of the ISS Fleet to require anything immediate in my absence, although I expect that I will probably be checking my email intermittently.
  9. Hey! The Sales link's live! Now where did my hard-earned money get off to?
  10. So are you guys going to create an online wing of some sort? I'd consider getting the game to play with that!
  11. I saw it, I liked it, it's a popcorn movie. Give it a 8/10 for an entertaining matinee afternoon. Typical summer fare, but at least thoughtful enough for me to recommend to my students who are studyign bioethics.
  12. That's about as close to uniform as our sigs get.
  13. Prez, I've approved your entrance to ISS, when you have a moment, get registered on our fleet webpage and we'll begin the process of getting you trained and up to speed on ISS procedures. Welcome to the fleet Commander!
  14. I'll say that what makes this movie worth seeing is the relationships. So you think the guy playing Reed Richards is a little wooden? Guess what, Reed Richards IS a little--no, a LOT--wooden. He was missing something that made the comic book what it is, and that's the problem-solving, confidence, and natural leadership that he normally has when stuff's on the line. He only had it in the last parts of the movie, but I don't know why it couldn't have been there earlier. Chiklis is the soul of the movie, and I actually felt like he did some of the best acting there. Johnny Storm was pitch-perfect, as was the relationship between him and Ben. Jessica Alba did the one thing that Sue does best, and that's being the conscience and the emotional compass. She's looking out for people. Doom was disappointing to me just because he's supposed to be more aristocratic, and more of a classic villain. His dialogue suggested (I agree) more Green Goblin than world-conquering dictator from a long aristocratic line known for its utter contempt for anyone not from the upper classes. (Apparently Hollywood can't stop beating on Corporate America for more than five minutes, so of course we couldn't have Doom be the actual kind of villain that he is.) I give it a 7/10 if Hulk is a 5, Spiderman (either of them) is a 9, and Batman is a 10.
  15. I have to say I've been playing it like a fiend, and the command and control features are FANTASTIC. Finally the game's less like a mob rush and it's more like a coordinated set of strikes. I do agree with one review that it would have been better to see some of the capture points unavailable until you'd taken closer ones. I don't know if that's a technical detail or if they just didn't do it, but I think the idea of a moving front would be very cool.
  16. I hate to say it friends, but I'm going to miss today. It's father's day here and I've got some family obligations to attend to.
  17. Looks like I'm the first to post on the results. Let me say... W O W !!! It's as good as either Spiderman was, better than any of the previous batman films, and Bale is to Batman what Hugh Jackman was to Wolverine. Alfred was excellent, Oldman and Freeman were excellent in their respective roles as Gordon and Fox as well. As far as how Batman himself was, he was actually intimidating, unlike Keaton's version. He was highly mobile, and really mean looking. The car was excellent, and they did a fantastic job of building Batman little by little throughout the movie, as Bruce Wayne trained, and as Batman learned his craft. I can't wait to see what they do next. 10/10 - Go see it!
  18. I agree. If you like Adam Sandler, this is funny and has some good stuff in it. If you don't, then don't say you weren't warned. 7/10 --I'd have seen it for the cheaper price instead of the 8.50 they charge at my local theater, but it's worth seeing at that price as opposed to waiting for DVD.
  19. Alright, I'm going to accept Remo's adjusted time of 3pm CST (8pm GMT) for Sunday, which means we'll just follow it right after the other match, and we'll have double-coverage that way.
  20. Team CIOPS has challenged Spectre Fleet this Sunday at 1pm CST. (I'm assuming that's CST, there wasn't a timezone on the challenge screen at galcom hq). As it stands, CIOPS consists of me, Krasus, Gavin Sykes, Rip, and who else? Let me know what times you can make guys, I figured we can put together at least two people at that time. Let's make a go of it commanders, if we win, we're second in the league to our brothers in the Praetorian Fleet. I'd like to see us have a "cross town" fleet match at the end of the year so ISS can lock up the season once again. Team CIOPS Report in.
  21. Well, Everest is about 29k' and change. You wouldn't want to stay up there that long. On the other hand, standard cruising altitude is normally like 30-35k' for longer flights I think.
  22. Ah friends, I regret to inform that I will not make it today. Sorry!
  23. Maximus, I've cleared you for Level One access to the ISS secure forums. If Ben hasn't PM'd you your password, then post here and let us know so one of us can do so. Welcome to the fleet Commander!
