  1. I've set up the Gamma Wing Section of The Prime Fleet Forum. 1st Squadron finally gets it's own thread! For those who don't wish to learn the link to the new board, I've activated the "COM NET" link on the www.primefleet.com main page. Clicking it will get you to the new board. Check it out!
  2. Well, I for one, will give him a chance to defend himself. I took the time to go through the rest of his posts, and I don't see anything that would indicate that this is a pattern. A couple of wise-cracks that aren't in the best taste, but then, I'm a Harry Potter fan. He could have been referring to the name of the topic, which, on most other discussion boards, would have unleashed a torrent of immature posts. Well, MidnightGreen? I'm listening.
  3. No I meant open positions available to those already in Prime. I figured we'd open staff positions to Prime fleet members before opening them to the general public. By the way, the BattleField font "Battle.TTF" is located on the FTP site, under the WWW directory.
  4. Prime is always looking for more members Prime fleet is the workhorse of Galcom. We do everything that the other fleets specialize in, plus everything they don't. If you're new to the game, and you want a well rounded position, then Prime is your best bet.
  5. News from the web-page front. The main page is up! Go to www.primefleet.com and check it out. But... Not all the links work yet. The Gamma Page is up, but not in its final form. Since it will be a template for ALL Wing pages, any comments anyone wants to make should do so soon. So far, I've had 1 comment. Next, we need volunteers to do the following pages: Recruitment Patrol Assignments News Internal Positions Roster I've got some good ideas on the recruitment front, if no one else wants to tackle it.
  6. Well, Remo, if you don't have any work for me in my eventual retirement, then maybe Max will
  7. It is directly related to the number of posts you make. Nothing personal. I think 50 will get you Commander, but I may be wrong...
  8. You know, I had a half-formed plan that when I get tired of being in GalCom, however long that would take, I'd retire, buy a Generis, and act as a contract trader for GalCom. This Auxilliary sounds perfect for it.
  9. That doesn't always for for me. However, it did this time. Sure the buttons aren't hard at all. Getting them to do what you want may be more difficult, but maybe not, I've never tried. To create the buttons: 1. Go to Library under Windows, in Flash 2. There should be an Options tag in the top right corner of the library. Click it 3. Then click New Symbol 4. Select Type as Button, and name it. 5. should be a blank canvas. At the top, should be the timeline, with Up, Over, Down, and Hit. Right-Click each of these and select Create Keyframe 6. Up is when the mouse is off doing something else. In your case, leave it blank. 7. Over is when the mouse is over the button. Your text should go here. 8. Down is when the mouse button is down. You could put the text in a different colour, or a little explosion, or whatever. A Hint: if you delete the keyframe and re-create it for an event, it will copy the keyframe before it. If you want nothing to happen (looks wise) when you click, do this. 9. Hit is the area of the button. Create a solid colour (doesn't matter which) rectangle around the text. This won't show up, but it marks the boundry of the button. If your mouse goes over the rectangle area, the Over event will trigger. 10. Save, and go back to your scene. Drag your button onto the background, and place it where you want. 11. Right-click on the buttons, and check out the actions tab. Whatever you put here will happen when you click the button. 12. Save again. To test the button, either go to Control...Enable Buttons, or go to Test Movie. PS, the best way I've found to insert a background image is to cut and paste it. This is from memory, but it should be close. Let me know if you have any trouble.
  10. Anything is possible. Well, almost anything. For example, it is not possible to link to a picture on geocities. As I discovered recently you have to create an html page with the image on it, and link to that. Once that's up, I'd be happy to give you a hand.
  11. Testing testing testing I uploaded the gif to the primefleet site. Same location as before. Filename: terr-gc-gamma.gif [ 08-24-2001: Message edited by: Badgerius ]
  12. Oh! We had a word for antisocial behaviour when I was a kid. It was called: "Being a inconsiderate jerk"
  13. 'Fraid that's a flash trick. I'll see if I can export it to gif, though
  14. Remember, SC the difference between insanity and genius is good marketing! Psst! He won't come in here! He just found out we're all NUTS!
  15. The manual states: quote: At this time, the United Free Nations (UFN) began work on orbital space stations around Mars and Earth. These were designed to facilitate continued space exploration and research... The second star station, Genesis, was designed primarily as a military installation from the onset. It had better defensive and offensive systems and was used to pinpoint the location of Earth Command opposition on the planet’s surface. This station was three times the size of Starpath and capable of supporting up to twenty five thousand personnel. It was also the site of the first space-borne shipyard... On stardate 05.11.2993, Galactic Command (GALCOM) was formed. Its founding members were the Terrans, Empirians, and the Vesperons. The Genesis star station in Earth orbit, already a 90% military installation, was converted to a fully-functional tactical operations center, and eventually became known as GALCOM HQ (or GHQ). So, does anyone know where the Genesis station in Lunar orbit came from, and how it relates to the original Genesis station, which became GalCom HQ?
  16. Good News! Our logo has been approved! The image is located at www.primefleet.com/GammaWing/gammalogo.jpg Everybody update your sigs!
  17. A Sane commander in Orion? Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!
  18. You're right about the spelling. I'll fix it. About the size: I'm going to stick with 800X600 because of the size of the flash file. If I increase it, the flash gets a lot bigger. We don't want a slow page, now do we? About the background. Well, the background pic is from low lunar orbit. I've noticed that in BCM the stations are quite close to the planets (about 150-250 klicks) which is low orbit. Also, there are no stars because there wouldn't be. Too much light reflected off the lunar surface and earth. If you look at the Apollo pics, you won't see a single star anywhere. So the pic is accurate. Do we care? *shrug* Not really. If there's a general consensus, I'll change it My email is: [email protected] [ 08-23-2001: Message edited by: Badgerius ]
  19. Ok, web page criticism time. Gamma Wing Section of PrimeFleet Page None of the links should work yet. This page, when final, will act as a template for all other wings. So if you don't like something, for God's sake say it now!
  20. I would like to submit for approval the following Wing Logo for Gamma Wing:
  21. It's not so much a steep curve. It's a long one. I've been playing BC3K since the first release V1.0. I still wouldn't say I know close to half the things that are in the game. But that's what's great about the game: it's depth
  22. We shall see, Cmdr. We shall see. Nothing like a bit of healthy competition to keep us on our toes, eh?
  23. Any commanders who haven't done so, check the Signatures thread, and change yours if neccessary. Cmdr. Maddox, I give you a station and you vanish! Seriously, though, next time you check in, acknowledge your orders, and make sure your sig is up to snuff.
