  1. quote:Originally posted by nomad: As far as I know, all other big countries (India, China, Russia, Indonesia) recognize more than one single language. Yeah, and one of those languages they're recognizing is english. quote:I remember having read somewhere (dont remember the link) that if the current natality & immigration figures are extrapolated, english will be a minoritary language in some 50 years.Mexico will also be empty at that point. Given the number of people in the U.S. who speak english and are going to continue to speak english and will teach their children to speak english, I don't see english as being a minority language any time soon.

  3. quote:Originally posted by Jaguar: What? You think the Saudi's would hire Mr Rogers? They can't hire him because he's dead. (I'm sure that's not stopping him from voting for Kerry, though)
  4. True. Once somebody reads your tag without your knowledge and finds out you're number '4598722305476832', all hell's gonna break loose, isn't it.
  5. I think if people want to implant a RFID tag inside themselves more power to them. It could really help out in the travel and medical industries.
  6. Sometimes your writing is a little 'interesting' to read (mainly the use of all capital letters in some words), but if that's how you write then more power to you and I won't comment on it again.

  8. Sorry, I guess I titled this topic wrong. What I meant was I don't get how people could actually believe Kerry on this item (or most items really). Using a little common sense a person should be able to see that raising oil prices hurts Bush, not helps him, therefore the people raising the prices probably aren't his friends. Therefore Kerry's statement is nothing more than an attempt to bash Bush and make himself look better. Hopefully more people will realize this.
  9. quote: The record price of oil ÔÇ£means a lot more profit for this presidentÔÇÖs friends in the oil industry. But for most middle class Americans, the Bush tax increase is a tax increase that they canÔÇÖt afford,ÔÇØ Kerry said in New Mexico. If the above statement is true, and the price of oil is being controlled by "Bush's" friends, wouldn't it make more sense that they would LOWER the price of oil this close to the election to make it look like Bush is doing a great job so he will get re-elected, then afterwards they could raise the price for another 4 years? Looks to me that Kerry is trying everything he can to make Bush look bad, even on things that Bush has no control over. (just my opinion, though)
  10. Sorry, I get you point now. I didn't see the 'Farenheit 9/11' and '$9.11' similarity. I thought you were making some comment on the the price of renting a movie these days.
  11. quote:Originally posted by Grizzle: A bit of synchronicity or one of life's little mysteries... Went to rent Farenheit 9/11 just a while ago and my bill worked out like this... Two movies, a box of Sno-Caps (yummy) and a small late charge from a previous rental...total came to $9.11... I kid you not! Your point being????
  12. I got pulled over twice last month for having my registration expired for 2 months. I have some parts for my emergency brake on back order and I can't get the safety check done until the brakes are fixed. I explained it to the officers and both times they understood and just gave me a warning. I guess this breaks your 'cummunist mentality, and your promotion of ZERO tolerance dogma!!" theory.
  13. Hey street, why don't you finish quoting the paragraph? quote:...according to the senior administration officials. To that end, the Iraqi dictator bought illegal materials to better position the regime to restart those programs, the report will say. According to them the REPORT will say it, not the "senior administration officials".
  14. quote:Originally posted by Grizzle: They are kinda busy with a Presidential campaign. Still doesn't mean they can't do the job that they were elected to do. If they aren't going to fulfill all their responsabilities as senators, how can we trust them to fulfill all their duties if they become president?
  15. It sounds like Kerry should take a look at his website sometime. Maybe then he could say something other than 'I was in Vietnam' and 'I have a plan'.
  16. quote:Originally posted by cyress8: I hope that we can buy the game with a debit card because a credit card is a waste of cash for me. I can't deal with the interest on my purchases As long as the debit card has the visa, mastercard, or other acceptable credit card company logo on it, you can use the debit card exactly like a credit card. The difference between the ATM and debit transactions is that an ATM transaction will debit your account immediately, where as a debit transaction will get an authorization and place hold on funds in your account, then a few days later the completion message from the credit card company will come through which will drop the hold on the funds and debit the account. Back on topic, though, I usually prefer my games on CD, but I wouldn't have a problem getting my game online if that's the only place it is available. Something that would make it much easier to buy one online, though, would be if they would make it so you could read the electronic version of the manual INSIDE the game, so in cases where you couldn't print the manual out and Alt-Tab doesn't work, you could still look up stuff in the manual.
  17. Heres a website dedicated to these types of lawsuits. Similar to the Darwin Awards. http://www.stellaawards.com/
  18. quote:Originally posted by Grizzle: You really think it was all about Saddam? Yeah I'm sure that Middle-Eastern CULTURE, poverty and oppression has nothing to do with it. Let's just do what Ann Coulter says, "Invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity." [/QB]You got a point. I guess Saddam never oppressed his people or forced them into poverty while he lived in his many multi-million dollar palaces. What what I thinking???
  19. quote:Originally posted by Grizzle: Do you beat an unruly child into submission or attempt to educate them in order to change their behavior? Which tactic is more likely to have a lasting effect? Probably the latter, unless the child is afraid of the big kid on the block beating him up for listening. What you need to do is remove the big kid from the picture, then you can educate the child and change their behavior. Saddam was the big kid. The Iraqi people coudn't change their behavior from fear of being killed by him. Now that he is gone, the people can change. And as more people begin to realize that he is truly gone and they don't have to worry anymore, the area will begin to stabilize.
  20. quote:Originally posted by nomad: A plane flies to Cuba. Suddenly a terrorist enter the cabin and orders the pilot to fly to Cuba. The pilot says to the terrorist: we are already flying to Cuba... Good analagy, but you have to also consider that the terrorist may not look at the fact that they are already flying to Cuba; He may just look at the end result which is he got where he wanted to go. The same thing can apply to Spain. They can say that they were already going to pull out, and maybe they were, but the terrorists may have it in their head that "we attacked Spain and they pulled out. This works so let's keep doing it."
  21. I can understand how with large parties it takes more work, therefore a manditory tip is understandable. But if this is the case, then the tip needs to automatically be put on to the bill. They can't expect someone to get out their calculator and figure out a 18% tip and then leave it on the table.
