The ability to climb walls now might make the game too easy though?
  2. here is an update about the story. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...id=540&ncid=716
  3. I would also like to add that turning off the hyper drive causes the same effect as turn off the N. reactor. Malfunction is displayed in the VDD, NID, engines are disenabled, etc.
  4. 1.)When towing an object(a fighter in my case) and I select a destination that requires an Hyper Jump and press shift-9. The crew reports "engaging hyper drive profile" and then nothing happens. If I save then restore the game, upon reloading the ship will then proceed to H.J. 2.)When towing an object during the jump I can enable the shield without causing the tractor beam to disengage. Coming out of the H.J. I still have the object in tow and have the shields at max. I am running the newest patch. [ 05-24-2004, 06:40 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  5. That's a start, both versions of the story are told. I think I will take a wait and see stance on this one though.
  6. quote:Originally posted by Steve Schacher: Could the media have lied to us in their rush to oust President Bush from office? That article was interesting, however as it was posted by the DoD and written by someone employed by the DoD there might be some "vested bias" in it. If only there was a more independent source to collaborate the story. I would not be surprised if the media jumped the gun on this story either.
  7. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: quote:Originally posted by jamotto: I will have to try that :-) Of course now the game code will be rewritten so that the attacker will ignore the missle lock if you are out of range, no doubt. Why? If someone got a lock on you and you see the TRACK warning in the ITD, it is up to you to ignore it or press the O key. NPCs make that decision based on threat assessment. Obviously someone launching an inbound missile, has a lock, and obviously is a greater threat than the fool you're ballet dancing with in a guns only engagement. Very true, I tried it it didn't work so I moved on.
  8. It is nice to see people helping out. We need more of this. Though I digress it does make me wonder about the "big wigs" at the Pentagon.

  10. I found this thread for an earlier version of the battle cruiser game. http://www.3000ad.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?u...t=001257#000007
  11. By doing task's. You don't have a say in what their initial AI is. It does increase over time as long as you don't get them killed of course :-) So as a fighter pilot gets more flights under his belt he will become more proficient at flying is craft same goes for officers.
  12. QUOTE]Will you guys do the fricking math? 100 billion compared to 1 TRILLION... [/QB]
  13. quote:Originally posted by Jaguar: What is happening to that money? It is being invested in other ventures, new business startups, further invenstment in large corporations etc, which creates what? Jobs, because as those companies get that injection of cash, from those NOW moving investments, they must CREATE something, and how do they do that? By HIRING workers. [/QB]It does not necessarily mean they are going to hire new workers. If the products they make are not selling then there is no reason to hire new workers. In fact it would only lower their profits. They could buy more equipment/Capitol but again no reason to do this. What drives the economy is consumer spending. So in the long run sure tax cuts can move the economy along it can be a long wait though. So what "can" move the economy along faster? War War does increase the demand for labor. Not, just in one sector, but in many sectors. A single company no longer produce's every part in their products. So when a company A see's greater demand for their product so do all the companies that company A outsources to.
  14. I like the STARCRUISER. It kind of reminds me of the ship in the TV series Andromeda. Also while looking through the appendix. The QUESTAR HJ RECHARGE TIME (s) = 4,505 ???
  15. I think this means that random encounters with hostile ships are turned off. Allows you to fly around and not have a bunch of enemy ships on your tail so to speak.
  16. I too must say I can't get the PTA's on the nightstar to work. I was in Sygan found the Starstation under attack by a super carrier, 2-3 bc mk2's and some fighters. They all make a beeline for me. I let them surround me I cut to the external camera to watch. The PTA's aren't even twitching. I turn the ship in different angles watch as fighters pass by nada. mmm, I think those boys down in the PTA turrets are sleeping on the job? Long story short, my marines can't shoot a gun if there life depended on it! Now all of those "Evildoers" are holded up in the FC bays where I can't get to them. Or at least I can't get my marines to go to the FC bays:- But, I think that problem is for another thread
  17. The Starstation Flicker appears to be fixed once patch 2.0 is applied. However, Jumpgate's still flicker.
