  1. Did SC's link from the previous post work for anyone? I'm getting the ads and the header but the rest of the page is blank. Thanks for the help with the broken link, Kal.
  2. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! Or is it supposed to appeal to the French? Ouiouiouiouiouiiiiiiii !!!!!!!!!!!! What a sad state of affairs at the house that Mario built. Maybe now we convince Miyamoto to start developing for REAL platforms??????
  3. LOL! I thought 'government' and 'corruption' were redundant? Seriously, I don't know the Bush Administration people well enough to know if they're vile enough to do something like this (but I kinda doubt it), but I'm pretty sure they aren't smart enough. Look, I voted for Bush twice, mostly on the lesser of two evils principle, but I am under no illusions that we are dealling with rocket scientists here! You are probably familar with this one, but in case you aren't you should read it. LINK I would suggest you pay special attention to the section on the test of a plane flown into a wall, and the results.
  4. If Rush Limbaugh said it, it can't be true, 'cause he bought painkillers illegally, dontcha know? Hell, I bought pot from a guy on my block for 3 years back in the eighties, so you KNOW nothing I say can be credible! It will just be another case of slamming the messenger and ignoring the message, I'm affraid.
  5. What really kills me is that people are giving the government so much credit. I was a government employee for 9 years. I simply cannot buy that a government that couldn't even set up my direct deposit for my bi-monthly paycheck correctly could orchestrate such an intricate plan and masterful cover-up! When has the government shown enough competency to even run the country, much less pull something this massive off? Anybody looked into the FAA lately? They're government run. Think about what you guys are suggesting!
  6. quote:You claimed that the pictures were doctored. They clearly weren't. So that right there is blatantly FALSE because I - like most sensible and rational people - LOOKED at the original footage that was linked to. And the footage was not just CNN. There is footage from ABC, FOX, other foreign media etc. So don't even go down that foolish route about CNN being biased. Thats just rubbish and you KNOW it. It's funny. I don't remember saying CNN was 'biased'. (That I do in fact believe they are is irrelevant to this discussion) What I DID say is that they would not pass up an opportunity to give the Bush administration a black eye, especially on something so potentionally crippling. It just wouldn't happen. More to the point, you sidestepped my point about the depth of the cover up. If CNN, Fox, et. al. all have this footage, with your sinister alien pod, then why is it only a bunch of amateur sites set up by non-journalist types reporting it as truth, or even a possibility? There's simply no way in God's green earth ANY of them (Fox News included) would pass on this story if it passed even the loosest litmus tests for any modicum of reality. You are right - the website I posted DOES raise questions - but not the nonsensical ones of missing planes, government coverups, alien abductions, etc. The day I believe government (either Democrat OR Republican run) is 100% up front about anything is the day I can be sold some oceanfront property in Arizona. What I find most fascinating about all of this is that human nature being as it is, we all will adamantly deny the more reasonable explanations for discrepancies as impossible while insisting on the probability of the fantastical.
  7. A little counter-evidence in the midst of all of this hysteria that we live in a Orwellian Nightmare: LINK
  8. quote: For the love of God, before you start crying about fakes, at the very least, DO the research. Well, I read the information in it's entirety on the websites you linked to. I was impressed with the extent these people are going to to pull this one off. What other research am I "obligated" to do when I know this is all a bunch of melarchy? Why should I expend the effort on something so silly? quote: Even if you discount the WTC evidence, it is 100% clear that NO aircraft - at least not a 7 series Boeing - hit the Pentagon nor crash in a Penn state field. Is it '100% clear'? Is anyone here to be considered an authority on what happens to a plane when it hits a building - as if this is something that happens all the time? I respect that you are a scientist, but bear in mind I am not a complete scientific 'ignoramoose'. I really don't have a problem with being told planes crashed where I was told they crashed. It's not like I know what to expect in these cases - not everything happens in real life like it happens in the movies... quote: Also, I LOOKED at the CNN and other network footage from which those videos and stills were obtained. They are IDENTICAL and 100% UNDOCTORED. I am a graphics person and can easily spot a fake. The link I posted above about the pods under the aircraft, are CLEARLY there in the CNN footage. Okay - let's consider that for a moment. CNN is not one to shy away from dredging up bad things to report on the Bush administration. Obviously if it's "their" footage, the smart people that work at CNN would have seen your infamous alien 'pod' - and investigated. The very thought of being able to uncover a vast sinister plot on the part of this gov't would make them orgasmic - so why Then, have we heard NOTHING from them? Are they in on it too? Is MSNBC? FOX? ABCnews? Pretty soon, the only ones NOT in on this vile plan will be me and you.
  9. Hello guys. Id like to join in. Im not going to go off. I promise. This sort of information (I dont think this exact site that SC has linked, but ones very similar) began cropping up on the net literally days after the terrorist attacks. In fact a claim identical to the ones made about the two flights that hit the towers were made about the flight that struck the pentagon i.e. it wasnt a flight at all, but a missile, and the actual flight purported to have hit the Pentagon was missing and unaccounted for, etc. etc. The arguments and supposed photo evidence were all very compelling, rational, and reasonable sounding  and completely false. It so happens that several videos of what was unmistakably a plane hitting the building were found a later posted, completely debunking the story. This latest iteration cleverly supplants the missile hoax with an onboard "pod" of some kind, removing the possibility of video eveidence debunking this hoax. Why do people do stuff like this? Mostly its because they consider themselves clever when they can dupe a large group of people into believing something so hard to believe. It is what they consider fun. As far as I can tell, these claims of conspiracies and sinister dealings afoot are no different. The still photos are indeed a clever touch, but almost certainly fake. Well-made and industrious fakes to be sure, but still fakes. It is simply too easy to doctor photos and post them on the net. Anyone remember the photos that showed Al Gore supposedly pledging allegiance with the wrong hand? Fake. How about the website that claimed to have interviews with the fire team aboard the Navy cruiser that shot down TWA Flight 800 over Laguardia? With photo evidence! Fake. There are simply dozens of excellently made and brilliantly passed-off hoaxes flying around the Internet. There will always be the people who insist this case is different  the evidence is too compelling for it to be a hoax. To them I say, fine. Believe what you like. But in the case of huge world events like the moon landing (which I heard was faked) Flight 800 (which Ive heard was a military mishap covered up the govt) and the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor (which Im told was deliberately allowed to happen so that the U.S. could be drawn into a war it otherwise would not have enter due to the isolationist attitude of Americans at the time) you have to consider the area where all of the best conspiracy theories fall apart. Put simply, that would be the enormous number of people who would have to be involved to pull off such a grand scheme, AND keep it under wraps afterward. Human nature dictates that a person with a secret will generally keep quiet for all of about 37 seconds, and less when the event is as high profile as these. Consider for a moment the number of people walking around who would know the truth in any of the events listed above. Now consider the likelihood of every one of them taking such a dark secret to their grave without ever a peep as to the REAL truth. Once one person or group of people came out, there would be an avalanche of people just dying to get such horrible secrets off their chests. It is inevitable. Again, all of this is very interesting  and complete fiction.
  10. Sorry I haven't sounded off sooner, Jag, but Remo had me in a holding cell aboard his fleet's prison ship for a week, and I wasn't allowed any comms in or out! But seriously, I am overjoyed at your blessings and good fortune in having another healthy addition to the clan. That is awesome! Many years of joy and happiness to you and yours.
  11. quote:You are a gentleman sir. I can pay no higher complement to a man. Thanks, Race. I appreciate that alot.
  12. Clint Eastwood famously said in one of his movies, ÔÇ£A man has got to know his limitations.ÔÇØ I have always liked that, and have tried to follow it, as it makes good sense. One of my limitations is that I have ÔÇ£buttonsÔÇØ. You know, one of those things people can do (deliberately or undeliberately) that will get you to act out of character, usually in the form of getting angry, flustered, or off-balance. I have been involved in debates since I was a freshman in high school on the debate team in 1988, and have always prided myself on my ability to keep a cool head, regardless of how heated the subject matter of the debate got. Unless the other guy hit one of my buttons. When that happened, I would end up making a less coherent argument, and ultimately lose the debate on substance. I have made many efforts towards overcoming this weakness since then, mostly in the form of eliminating the number of ÔÇ£buttonsÔÇØ I have that can be pushed. One of the buttons I have never been able to eliminate is politicizing the peoplesÔÇÖ deaths for the purpose of oneÔÇÖs own agenda (either real or perceived). When this is done in the case of 9/11, in which the deaths involve people I actually knew, and my father was one who only just barely escaped with his own life, it clearly is a topic I need to stay out of. Understanding this, I was wrong to post in the 9/11 thread; and for getting so angry and violating the forum rules, I apologize. For what itÔÇÖs worth, my anger was not a ÔÇÿtacticÔÇÖ ÔÇô it was an emotion. One born of the combination of remembrance of the absolutely sick feeling I had on what was the worst day in my life and disgust at the disconnected coolness that is becoming more and more prevalent about an event I find very personal and very painful. My ÔÇÿtearful storyÔÇÖ was not some calculated, wrong-headed justification for an unpopular war, nor was it a fishing trip for sympathy ÔÇô it was an attempt to put the seemingly forgotten human side back on a horrific event that is, in my view, being mariginalized and exploited solely for advancement of radical and extremist idealism. Even in my normal dispassionate and even-keeled state I find it acutely offensive that someone could see an account of personal pain as a ÔÇÿtacticÔÇÖ. This to me says a lot about human nature and the strictly calculating, cold-hearted disposition of some people. For the record, I donÔÇÖt use terms like ÔÇ£anti-AmericanÔÇØ lightly on fellow Americans. That I consider certain people from other fine countries as anti-American is of little import seeing as how they are not Americans, and really donÔÇÖt have any real obligation to be ÔÇ£pro-AmericanÔÇØ. That I referred to them as anti-American ÔÇ£idiotsÔÇØ was indeed uncalled for and I do apologize. In case you were wondering, Silk, I was not including you in the Anti-American category, as it is clear you care as deeply for our country as I do. While I question your methods and motives, I never question your patriotism. Not that you afford Bush or Cheney the same courtesy with your largely baseless sinister conspiracy theories, but that is your business. My fleet leader Ben Zwycky, who is far wiser than I, recently gave me some extremely good advice: ÔÇ£Let us focus on what unites us.ÔÇØ It is with this in mind, finally, that I apologize to Silk for the things I said. I most certainly would NOT spit in your face. At any rate, I wish to continue living under the golden rule that no decisions should ever be made when one is angry. Thus, if my previous action has not resulted in being banned, (which to this point it has not) I would very much like to remain at 3000AD.
  13. IÔÇÖve been sitting at work for the last 2 hours, trying to convince myself to just stay out of it; let it go. DonÔÇÖt post anymore. Let the anti-American idiots post and make themselves look stupid. It didnÔÇÖt work. I sat for the last 20 minutes, absolutely quivering with rage. I have had about all I can stand from you Silk. You are a manipulative, ego-centric blowhard shock-jock just looking for attention and approval of your twisted perceptions of the truth. I suspect you are actually quite jealous of the very guys you frequently put down in your idiotic prose, like Limbaugh and Hannity, because they get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to speak their self-important nonsense, while you only have a cosy little unnoticed web log and a few anti-American cheerleaders on a niche-videogame website. What disgusts me the most is that you donÔÇÖt care that the only people on your side are the blissfully ignorant America bashers like Wolferz and Volio, the ÔÇ£blame America ÔÇÿcause it makes me coolÔÇØ liberal crowd, the nose-in-the-air elitist conservative wannabes, and pre-disposed Bush haters. I for one have learned that I rather dislike Bush as a leader, but your filth is just so maniaclly beyond simple political disposition. It is utterly abhorrent and sickening. So, Bush and his cronies knew about the attacks? And they just let them happen, huh? Al QaedaÔÇÖs plans were just SO convenient for their take-over-the-world-quick scheme that they just HAD to let them go through, regardless of the cost in human life and the affect it would have on all of AmericaÔÇÖs children, right? Oh, I know, you ever so nobly disavowed yourself of claiming the conspiracy by saying itÔÇÖs ÔÇ£merely circumstantialÔÇØ, but you posted this bullshit topic for a reason. Just typing these words, I have to pause every so often, my hands shaking with sheer anger. There is no limit to how low you will stoop to get your crap out there, is there? ItÔÇÖs bad enough youÔÇÖve been playing casualty pimp with American soldiers lives for the last 2 years. You see the number of American dead as a means of political advantage the same way Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy do. But now you drop hints that 9/11 would have been prevented if only we would have had someone more virtuous in the White House. IÔÇÖm betting that in your sick head, that ÔÇÿsomeoneÔÇÖ would be a lot like you. Am I over-reacting? To a certain extent, probably. But you know what? I donÔÇÖt give a damn. I remember when I watched as my father, whom I had never seen so much as shed a tear in front of me as a kid, cried like a blubbering idiot and sobbing uncontrollably, the first time I saw him alive following the Sept. 11th attacks. He didnÔÇÖt want to relate the horrors he saw that day coming out of the World Trade Center, but it was if once he started, he couldnÔÇÖt stop talking about it, even if he had to lean on me for support as he was wracked with agonizing sobs. You in your little disconnected and aloof existence probably couldn't be bothered to go to ground zero, to experience the dead hush and eerie, somber quiet that now hangs over the place, could you? IÔÇÖm betting you didnÔÇÖt. That would mean you would have had to look at the wall where a Fire Department precinct once stood. Of course, now it is a sad shrine to the lives of the men lost that day running into a burning skyscraper. If you ever did go to ground zero, I see no way that you could be so glib in claiming that men and women in charge of our government all but murdered these people in cold blood by doing nothing. Come to think of it, do me a favor and stay away from Ground Zero altogether. It is hallowed ground, and your presence there would probably soil it. I have no interest in belonging to the same communtity frequented by elitist jackasses like you who so callously politicize one of the most horrific events of the 20th century because it makes them cool, different, and somehow noble. The idiot Vietnam War protester did much the same thing, and look at all of them now ÔÇô they ARE the Democratic party. Congratulations, Silk. You are in good company. It seems you do have a political future after all. To say you sicken me is an understatement. You make me want to vomit. If I ever met you, I very well might spit in your face. As IÔÇÖm sure all of this will lead to at the very least a temporary banning, if not permanent, I will close by saying I am sorry to my friends and fleet mates for leaving the community. I see no other choice, however, for as I stated, it is populated by too many self-righteous, manipulative, and unsavory people with whom I have no wish to continue associating. Apologies to all of the good people here if I ever offended, and there are many, and no, they are not all conservative Americans. People like Race Bannon, Aperson, Nomad and many others know that my respect is not reserved only for people with the same viewpoint as me. Ben, Marc and Zane still have my email address, so anyone who wants to get in touch with me after this can contact them. Oh, and sorry Remo, for making you have to work overtime on the whole moderating gig. Bye.
  14. This is just asinine. Absolutely frickin' stupid. A conspiracy. I'd laugh it it wasn't so damned sad that some yokels around here buy into it. And Wolferz, congrats on one of the most ignorant and childish posts I've seen in a while.
  15. Happy B-Day SC. And many more, God willing.
  16. I'm not normally a pessimist, but... It will NEVER happen.
  17. I on the other hand spent my evening putting up a new garage door opener. I don't know about you guys, but I can't drink when I'm working. The last time I had beer while doing some jobs around the house, some of my work was... um... not so good. Bye Cc. We hardly knew ya. (Lucky us).
  18. Only tin pot dictators who support, fund, and harbor terrorists. I would totally support that foreign policy. That would be MY foreign policy. I would put a domestic spending freeze on all but the most critical expenditures (defense spending, securing the borders, disaster relief, research and development, etc) and do what the world has turned away from doing for decades too long.
  19. For the record, SILK, I would never say you are anti-American. I find the stance you have taken extremely disturbing, but I DO understand what drives you to a point. I simply cannot be so cynical as you about hidden and not-so-hidden intentions concerning the war. If I truly believed a sitting U.S. president deliberately misled the nation into war for purposes of gaining control of the middle east's oil (of which there is ABSOLUTELY no proof whatsoever) as you do, I can't see how I could choose to continue living here. What is so sad is that you have absolutely no way of knowing Bush's heart; you have know way of knowing if what's driving him is just what he says, or something else. It's not that you may not be right on some level, but you pompously claim that you know for a fact something you clearly have no way of knowing. On a side note, I never claimed that the "neo-con" lie was a liberal media fabrication. Maybe YOU should actually read what someone else writes more thoroughly. In my opinion, it's a malcontent conservative splinter concoction used to label those of a differing viewpoint than the elitists.
  20. quote: Just once I would love to see one of you guys take the risk to admit a wrong, just once. Okay there was this one time, when I was a sophomore in high school, 2nd semester... Just kidding. Seriously, though, Race, I really don't have a problem admitting I'm wrong when I'm wrong. Of course, I have to be made to realize I'm wrong, which can take some doing, but It CAN be done. And has been. Many times. To whit, I fully expected there to be the oft-mentioned WMD in Iraq in massive quantities, and claimed that they would be found. Now, we all know that this wasn't the case. Some were found here and there but by and large the intelligence was flat-out wrong. I have admitted as such - i.e. that I WAS WRONG. It doesn't hurt to say it. It's easy. Being wrong puts me in good company ; no one (not even the almighty SILK) is right all of the time. Now, if WMD had been the only reason that I was in support of the Iraq war, then naturally, I would have had no problem saying that I was wrong about that too. But what YOU fail to do is acknowledge that the people who supported the war did so on a number of levels, and not just on a one trick pony the media fed into like a starved cat at a fish fry. Take away WMD, and that left only six reasons why I believed the war in Iraq was a justifieable one. Hence, no admittance on my part of being wrong. There are still six solid reasons why America went to war in my view. But for muckraker bloggers and sensationalist political columnists like our friend SILK, the motivation to be the town crier, the supposed lone voice in the wilderness, supercedes reason and the goal becomes to put one self on a pedestal as the bastion of righteousness and truth; crusaders of valor living in their fabled idealistic world where every war has to have a storybook lead-in, basic plot, and an identifiable villain. Of course, their villain has become Bush. Ironic, that. The most he did was interpret the intelligence compiled by 12-plus nations showing that Hussein did have/was actively pursuing WMD. Of course our aforementioned town crier/voice in the wilderness/bastion of justice and truth friends like SILK can't just stop there. That doesn't make the story exciting enough. Oh no - Bush has to be made out to be a power-hungry, vengeful, bloodthirsty, coniving monster, or their crap just won't get read. The rest of us who don't have a reputation to build and a show to put on for the masses just shake our heads at how so many intelligence agencies could have gotten so much so wrong, and move on. Am I a neo-con? Umm...No. Seeing as how this another fairy-tale concoction by SILK and his ilk (hey, I like that!) in their drive to create another enemy at which to direct their angst-filled prose that they hope will gain them their political fame. It is, in my view, the consummate straw man. Me, I am dog-sick of having the same pointless and stupid conversation over and over again with thick-headed know-it-all's who would have done everything differently and far better to boot.
  21. Well said Remo. Of course, you'll be accused of being "duped" by the evil and sinister war-mongering devils, Bush and Cheney. You bought the whole WMD line hook line and sinker; never mind that the whole WMD issue was never a very big thing for you (or most quasi-connected people with half a brain). The Ritalin-fueled sheeple of today need a focal point on which to focus their miniscule attention spans in order to grasp the gravity of a given situation; something that rolls off the tongue; a buzz word that can be remembered between pointless cell phone conversations and complaining about gas prices. Bush chose WMD for the sheeple. Hell, it could have been his dislike of Saddam's attire for all you care. For shame! Next, you'll be attacked for supporting a "war of agression". Saddam didn't attack us, don't you know? Never mind that he was a crazed billionaire leader of a oil-rich rogue terrorist nation who has imparted untold suffering on his people while fisaclly supporting and harboring terrorists practically in his own house. He couldn't be bothered with them, silly man! He had innocent townsfolk to gas! Ah, but then next comes the real kicker! Rumsfeld, that evil bastard, gave the chemical weapons to Saddam! Yup. I've read it all over the internet. And we all know that information on the net is NEVER misconstrued or taken out of context for peoples' own purposes. Rumsfeld, and of course, by extension, you yourself, may as well have gassed those people personally! Egads, you are evil to the core! And of course, what discussion of the Iraq war would be complete without another sheeple-generated buzz word being thrown around; you know that one we all know and love - NEO-CON! Oooh, the very word just SOUNDS sinister. Why, a neo-con makes Darth Vader look like a boy scout! Never mind that there IS no such thing as a neo-con; that it's just another fatanstical fabrication of conservative bloggers who need to demonize Bush so that people will read their self-important ramblings. It's not enough just to dislike him, you see. Or to disagree. Oh no. Bush drowns puppies while smoking furled up photographs of the families of the dead American soldiers, haven't you heard? And laughs! Mike Moore(on) said so! So never make the mistake of calling the "insurgents" terrorists. That would be the supreme sin. All occupied peoples of history have resorted to blowing up their own women and children in a desperate attempt to plunge their country into civil war, causing even greater bloodshed. This is nothing more than a noble resistance, and don't you dare say it's not! Haven't you ever taken a history class? All aggressors have used as little force as humanly possible when attacking a foreign nation. Surely you will see if you study history that the college prank-level offenses committed in the US prisons far outweigh the death camps of the Nazi's and the rape of Nanking. Nothing could be compare to the atrocity of giving people their freedom while killing off the poor misunderstood freedom fighters you so blithely label "terrorists". Terrorists really just want to be understood, ya know. When they commit their trademark noble acts like suicide bombings and beheadings, they are merely trying to call attention to their noble plight. Consider 9/11 a desperate cry for help. Anyway, I just wanted to prepare you for the inevitable cavalcade of self-righteous pretentiousness. Gotta go, my sarcasm meter is pegged high, and it needs to cool off.
  22. I'm not seeing your point. At all. What is it your trying to complain about this time?
  23. Here is the correct link. The one in the post above just takes you to the forum home. Sorry. Lnk
