  1. Well sadly I haven't seen a MP game of UC for a while. That's mostly due to, I'd say, a lack of motivation as few people here own UC:CE or show an interest in MP. Now, I would say if multiplayer was to kick in once again, UC:CE would obviously be the game in use, but that's up to you to get it running again.
  2. From what I remember, simply having the dangerous combos may, randomly, trigger some damage. As far as I know, Illegal cargo is only that: illegal. You'll get fined if you dock at a station with such cargo, but there's no other side effect. Same goes with weapons, it seems they're more secure than minerals. If the weapons pod gets damaged, it simply means you can't use it, no big boom.

    Birthdays

Seems like I missed some birthdays! Well, better late... Happy birthday(s)!
  4. And your evidence for saying that is?
  5. I'm regularly checking this one, looking forward to the release.
  6. I still have AAW installed, so just set a date and I'm good to go.
  7. Never seen that happen either. You'll need to give more ample informations.
  8. This is false. The autopilot has two modes, travel and combat, it's in the manual. When the A/P icon is flashing red, it's in combat mode and will attack (and supposedly avoid ennemy fire) ennemies. Besides, I always set my carrier on combat autopilot when ennemies are nearby and I'm not trying to capture/destroy a starstation (which requires some extra micro managing), as I feel playing a carrier commander isn't about your ability to dogfight with this slow, heavy piece of high tech junk, but rather your skills managing your support crafts.
  9. Actually Vadise is right, observing objects in TACOPS adds them to the zoom to menus. It should be noted that it also generates them in the 3d world and the game starts tracking them. It seems to work the same way as when entering space regions, spaceships will be generated there and start being tracked by the game. It can sometimes slow the game down quite a bit if too much is being tracked at once. I don't know much ways around this, except by destroying everything that stress the system (buildings and stations get rebuilt after some time).
  10. Ah, that was unexpected! Does that mean developement of GCO is on stand-by or will get delayed?
  11. Well, I haven't checked the other fleets subforums for a while, so most of them are highlighted with new messages. So, your post went rather unnoticed. That's fixed now.
  12. Better late than never! I'm open for both AAW (or AOA) and UCCE.
  13. Ahah, I knew this would wake the dragon! Eh, as I said, it's a feeling. As you may remember, I helped test the 2.0 version, and always felt the testing process wasn't given enough time (unlike, say, AAW, which we spent long months helping you iron it out). I won't elaborate more here, as it is not the place though, but I think I still have the 2.0 version somewhere, so I'll do some more testing to back my claims.
  14. All right, so the ZOOM button (in tacops) really is what you need. It will open a menu asking you what type of asset you're looking for: select Support crafts and select your deployed asset. IIRC, it will NOT list marines, so you'll have to look for them by hand (but you should already know where they are if you TPed/deployed them somewhere). The 2.0 also has all the bug fixes and nice graphics. I wouldn't recommend it though, as you can't play multiplayer and I feel it's less polished.
  15. I personnaly would buy the (non-2.0) Collectors Edition. It's stable and has all features, scenarios and campaigns from the previous BC/UC games. Really, if you can, go for it it's a great game. As for the planet thing, what d oyou really mean? If you can't locate them at all, maybe you should use the ZOOM TO button on tacops when observing.
  16. For those of you interested and who don't have FS2 already, GoG has it for $6 here The gorgeous effects in that video are from the Freespace Open mod, available here
  17. If you're a bit short on money, I'd recommend the free UC version indeed. It's quite polished and should do the trick untill you save up for the big UCCE.
  18. Well, I would rather recommend buying the latest title, UC Collector Edition, as it's not much different from the previous BC games (instant action scenarios are more geared toward immediate action, but that's it), and it got all the campaigns and scenarios from just every BC/UC games, AND it got all the bug fixes. Check the requirements and go buy it!
  19. The free version is indeed Battlecruiser Millenium, not Battlecruiser Millenium Gold, which is still sold.
  20. It's alive, again! Nice to see the forum back.
  21. Reporting for duty, Admiral ShoHashi.
  22. Mouse flight was only added in BCMG, the freeware version doesn't have it. It's activated by pressing ALT. However, the freeware version already features first person free look when pressing the middle mouse button(only works when you're on foot) to look around.
  23. The game behaves the same here, the space dust field gets generated anew each time you press the next and previous target keys. I don't know of any fix, in the meantime, you could just set DynamicStarsFX to FALSE, if you don't mind the loss of situational awareness.
  24. Click the WTS button in the NID and select Clear navigation route.
  25. Sadly, I know for a fact lots of old games wont work with recent or semi recent hardware. It's usually all about a lack of backward compatibility from the new drivers. I've had lots of such behaviors with my recent cards, and sadly, there's little I could do to have them work with some of my old games. Now, this is strange, as I own a copy of BCMG, and my HD4870 seems to work fine with it.
