  1. Just another caveat here: be careful which exchanges you use. Some are better that others. Also, if you are not currently trading an asset, DO NOT store those assets on exchanges!! Store them on either a paper wallet, a desktop software wallet, or a hard (cold) wallet. A hard wallet is a USB device that stores crypto coins offline!

  2. I personally wouldn't advise Coinbase.com as a gateway to Fiat/Crypto conversion site. I've had too many issues with Coinbase, and I have started using Gemini. 

    That being said, it all still really new, so opinions vary.

    Canshow - good hearing from you! Long time no chat! I will definitely check out that discord server. 

    I trade cryptos daily, but I also have a traditional job, and I'm hoping to move out of that into cryptos full time.

I got into it about Nov 2017, when BTC was at around $20k USD, Then, over the next few months the price plummeted to it's current price of $8400 USD, so it's definitely not for the feint of heart. I started with about $500 USD and have turned that into about $2500 over several months. Still, I like it because you can get into the markets with a relatively small investment, however - the crypto space is not currently regulated so it's buyer beware.

    I currently hold Bitcoin (BTC),  Ethereum (ETH). Litecon (LTC), and Cardano (ADA).

    I've been day trading the other alt to BTC tokens and doing pretty good. There is a lot to learn. But I like that aspect of it as well.

  4. So is there anyone who is getting to cryptocurrancies? Bitcoin, Etherium. Litecoin, ect?

    I've been in the space for a few months now, and overall it's been both good and bad.

    I'm interested in what ya'll think.

    Have you made any money? Lost money?

    I'm pretty active ATM. Lowly indie, flying a Cobra MKIII running contraband and slaves!

    Anyone else playing? 

    I'd love to get SC and a few old BC commanders to create a faction and take over the bubble!

  6. I know I'm prolly wasting my breath here, but wtf.

    Suggestions if you make a UCCE Advanced addition:

    * Bring back the 'switch to' command for shuttles and fighters. NPC pilots CAN NOT trade with stations and CAN NOT jump through flux fields. At least I haven't found a way to work this.

    * Something in the game makes combat sounds incessant and prevalent ingame, even when there is no combat in the system, no combat in probe systems, and no intruders. Please look into this.

    * Allow some way to add music ingame without the current, complicated file format system you have currently. I can't just drop any old MP3 into the music dir and make it work. It has to be a specific codex, and format.

    * Fighters in escort of CC - STOP being in escort when they jump through gates. They default to SAD. If there is a hostile star-station in the region, the fighters will jump to that star-station and DIE! I have to manually click on each fighter ( after jump) and put them all back in escort.

    * Also, there used to be an ALL function in the fighter command menu, where I could order all fighters to perform the same command. Please reinstate that feature.

    Remember. Customer service is just as important and product production!

    I know this is a niche title, but you should make the game as enjoyable and stress free as possible (without dumbing it all down for the masses).

    You really could get it right this time, if you just listen to the people who actually play this game.

    Space-simmers aren't overly concerned with graphics, what we care about is game-play.

    Graphics are easy to update. Game-play - not-so-much.

  8. One thing about the original game that always bugged me was that the hyperspace engines would drain after jumping through a gate or wormhole to a new system. When trying to pursue ships across systems, they would always outrun me while I waited for my engines to recharge after entering a new system.

    I wonder... Was I just playing it wrong all this time? Was this something that would improve over time with crew ability, and I just didn't give it enough time? Or is this how it was designed to operate?

    Hyper-drive recharge rates do increase with upgraded engines and reactors. Also crew XP will increase over time, but I don't know if that increase the recharge rate for the hyper-drive.

  9. I think Derek's idea of a revamped and updated UC would work. I think it would sell. There are a lot of gamers out there waiting for a DX 11 version of BC3K. Finished, and without all the bugs. ;) I think he could use what he has learned from LOD and All Aspect to finish the ground combat and assets for UC.

    Plus, maybe flesh out the galaxy, trading system, add a few NPCs, and maybe a way to buy and upgrade ships?

    The tech has changed a lot since 2004.

  10. Meh. I paid $30 for Universal Combat in 2004, so that ain't no biggie. I'd much rather have a boxed version to add to my 3000AD collection than a simple direct download. Why not offer both?

    Wow. It's hard to believe I've been apart of this community for over 14 years now. Time flies, huh? I still have my original copy of BC3K 1.0 circa 1998!

    I think I might hold the record for being banned, reinstated, banned, reinstated, banned, reinstated... :D

  11. I don't know. It's my personal opinion that these guys would benefit greatly from a few hundred hours playing UC. It's certainly wouldn't be the "ultimate captain experience" without it.

    Maybe it's not trying to be the balls-to-the-wall hard-core tactical space-sim that BC3K/BCM/UC is.

    I guess it will all depend on the final product.
