Servers will soon start popping up everywhere. As for now, 3DGamers, Gamer's Hell, Worthplaying, have it up. Check the downloads page for links.

Unless your system meets with the minimim requirements for the game, don't even bother.

The demo contains four scenarios featuring the three marine careers (Elite Force, Recon Force and Mobile Infantry) and the Planetary Support Pilot.

Depending on where you download it from, there are two versions of this demo.

 • The larger 267MB full version contains both demo 1&2.
 • The smaller 64MB small version only contains demo 2 and requires a previous install of demo 1. Simply copy the file into the demo 1 install folder and execute it. This will merge both demos.

This will be the second and final demo. I had planned on doing a third, but I don't have time and these two demos have enough stuff in them already.

Great news! I'm looking forward to plunge myself deep into this second release this weekend!

I have a question though, about the occurence of a single white line in the sky: When starting the first and third of the new planetary-based scenario's, I can see a line from horizon to horizon. Is this a waypoint-related thing, or an anomaly caused by my graphics card?

I've put up a screenshot of the line here. Sorry if this is a stupid thing to ask or if I'm posting this in the wrong forum!

When you get closer to that base, you'll see that it's weapons fire!!
If you want to see this from up close (spectacular), put your AE in the prone position ("X" key) then run (Shift+W) in spurts until you're nearly inside the base. When you run, you do it standing up but, once you release the "Shift" key, you return to the prone position. This should allow you to get close enough to the weapons fire to be blown away (literally).

Kick Ass Demo.....

Finally, in the 'Last Man Standing' I made it to the rescue ship.
Which I took off and thrashed the nearest enemy base.

Still working on the rest of the FP demos.
Seems like my escorts like to shoot me.

Very good scenarios.

Of course, the graphics are superb, especially the follage in 'Last Man Standing'.

Super.

Get the Demo.

Yeah, last man standing is one of my fun scripts.

btw, those escorts are firing because you are firing and standing in the line of fire. Its called friendly fire.

Ok where to start:
§1.if everything that i will say in the next lines is dumb, rubbish or nonesense or has been already solved please delete my post and ban me as i would then deserve it

So, that said i can start

I have several problems with the UC-AWA preview demo 2

1.only one terrain type(kind of desert) on earth and mars(so no water, no hills ,just flat etc.)

2.no "firing" animation: i fire a weapon and no "flame" is coming out of the gun

3.the external planetary clouds seem nearly too have dissappeared(this may have been changed conciously but in comparission to the external planetary cloud effects in the 1. preview demo it doesn't look so good anymore

4.As Arthur Dent has seen it there is a single white line seperating the sky át night which is definetely NO turret firing as i have followed the line quite half an hour(in a gunship) without getting nearer to an firing turret

5.The game crahes especially when destroying Air-Defense-Vehicles(like X10,X15)

Config
Screen Resolution 1024x768
Anisothropic Filtering High
Environment Mapping On
Lightning Quality High
DXT Compressed Textures On
Optimized Models On
Preload Character Models On
Visible Damage FX On
Object Flight Path Trails Off
Object Contrails Type Particle
External Planet Cloud Map On

To state it i wouldn't have dared to post this if i had this problems in BOTH demos but i encounter these only in the 2nd demo NOT in the 1st demo

If needed:I've taken several screenshots from both demos to show what i mean,i just dont know how to post them

Furthermore: i dont know about the development of UC-AWA so this could already have been solved so
§1 would come to action

Thanks in advance

Well as my editing time has elapsed i'm doing a new post.

I'm not sure but the problems must have something to do with the shaders.I'm guessing this as i had the problems occur again after i re-installed the UcAWA preview demo#1 and then installed the ucAWA_Preview_Demo1_update1 (wich has an gfx folder with shader files included).

(of course i deleted the UcAWA preview demo#2 before doing this)

That update is only for NVidia GForce 3 and 4 cards.

Reinstall the demo and don't add that.

Thanks for the reply but this won't solve my problems with the 2nd demo
(i do NOT update the 1. demo with the small 65 mbytes 2nd demo but i'm having the big 2nd demo, those one with 330 mbytes or something like that).
The 1.demo is doing fine without the update(as i stated above in my first post),i just wanted to track down the beginning of the problems i'm having in the second demo, and i guess that this Geforce-Fix is both included in the 2nd demo and in the full version of Uc-AWA.
It doesn't matter whether he adds it or not. The game will use the appropriate shader for the video card. So, its not like its going to use GF3 shaders if the card is a GeForce 6800.
I know nothing about your video card, but from what you describe, you are having driver problems. So, try another driver set and go with what works. I don't make drivers and have no control over what the video card manufacturers do.

Running the demo with the default config (i.e. don't mess with the settings until you know whats wrong), might be a good start.

OK.

Looks like he's got a MSI Radeon 9800 with catalyst 5.4.

Maybe try drivers from MSI?
Yeah, thats what I was thinking too. If MSI have their own drivers, those are the ones he should be using.

I have now tried out the newest Omega drivers as well as Catalyst 4.1 and 4.2 , none of them helped, also I was trying some things like enabling/disabling the Catalyst A.I, changing the AGP speed and other things like that without any significant changes towards the problems.

So I guess I will be waiting for the retail version of Uc-AWA, maybe my video card will rather accept it than the demo, or maybe another new catalyst version will solve the problem.

What i'm very interested in is if other users in here with ATI Radeon 9800 pro or especially MSI RX9800 PRO TD-128 video cards are having similar problems.(though it doesn't seem like that).
