BMT and Debit Cards

I've sent two e-mails to BMT Micro regarding the possibility of using my bank keycard to order BCM (I do not have and never intend to get a credit card). The issue was that my card is part of the Maestro and Cirrus networks, but not Visa, Mastercard, or any of the other big names (at least according to the absence of their logos from the card). Their final reply to me was that they're "not sure", and that I could give it a try. Before I do that, I want to know if anyone here has had any experience with using BMT's Order Form with a similar card. Is there a chance, or am I wasting my time and should just mail a money order?

you can get a money order at a post office... there is a small fee involved, virtually negligible, and they they give you what is essentially a cheque that you can send through the mail... except that since the ammount is already paid to the post office, there is no chance of it bouncing... so companies will actually accept it. You can also get a certified cheque at the bank which is effectively the same thing.

I forget exactly what the fee is... It has been a while since I needed a money order... the last time was a for an application free when I applied to uni...

I think it was somewhere around 4% which for a 50 dollar game is like 2 bucks of something...

Will BCM actually be hitting the shelves around the end of the month or will it just be available for pre-orders??? In other words, do the first edition run from the production house exceed the pre-orders or not?

I'm using a Visa electron which is jointly linked to my wife. It's run by visa and I only use it online for all my online needs (like AOL bill). That way if anything happens I will only lose whats in it (normally less than 100 pounds) instead of what I have on my main account (not telling ).

The second reason why I like that card is because once upon a time (early days of the net) someone stole loads of cash online from that card. I got my money back in less than a week. Therefore it's a true and proven card. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Maestro mostly works in Europe by the way. However they have accepted it in a few shops in Malaysia.

BCM will be available in EB stores as well as for online ordering, but only pre-orders at those locations, will be honored. If you walk into an EB store and find a spare copy, then you're in luck.
