Planetary Ground Operations

Recommended Posts

Hello to all, I am a relatively new person to the Battlecruiser game series. I heard good things from a friend and I hunted down a copy of the latest version. (AND I DO MEAN HUNTED!)

My question pertains to the operations of ground forces on a planets surface. I am assuming I'm just not doing what is necessary even after looking through the forums and the manual.

I am giving my HAV orders to do ESCORT or DEFEND even SAD and MOVE TO commands dont work...hell anything would be a start...but they don't follow any of my commands. I have marines in each one, is that a problem? What am I missing?

Hmmm.. make sure you have waypoints set and that they have a valid target for Defend and Escort orders. They have a tough time seeing sometimes and will not attack. They only attack other units most of the time, not buildings.

Those are my 2 cents....

PS make sure the hold button isn't on either.. ^_^

Hehe...Yeah..we..duh..um...Mey..ryn..es...yup yup..that we are..ummmm hmmm.

At least that's what the majority of my Marines AI's would permit.

Target's within radar range...what...hmm...why would they need to see them on radar...whatever for??? I don't get it!! I should be able to attack anything!!! Even if it's in the next quadrant!!...Let the damn AI's figure out how to get there!! GET A TAXI OR SOMETHING!!!

hehehe....

Dude! it's like the marines work better now then they did before (when they were working) ok I started a scenerio game to see how they workd, first thing I did was watch my marines die.. er yeah my AE's foot was hurting him now I get out and first thing I notic theres like 8 of the buggers running towards me so I start blastin em takeing advantage of their slow aiming straffing, then I notic one of em goes airborn <-never seen this happen before he jet paks just infront of me so I blast em then I hear a litttle noise and watch my AE fall to the ground... I was like ergh damn snipers there real hard to see since they lay on the ground.

To bad the base didnt have any CAV's wanted to see how smart they were inside a ground asset..
