Not a problem.

In fact, now that I think about it, I should probably disable the enumeration of the mzones in the GBM (top level) map in order to avoid this confusion.

A while back in this thread, I think you saw some posts where starbases were scripted in the wrong location. I found and fixed them. If this were the case, I would have fixed it too before releasing the patch. But I can't see anything wrong. If you do, by all means, provide credible info and I'll be all over it before you even start thinking about heading for the airlock.

You think I'm hard on you? ha! You don't know the half of it. Just ask the Beta testers. I am HIGHLY efficient at what I do - and anything that threatens this (since I don't have 30 people working on my projects) causes me grief. Time taken running around like a loose goose, is time taken away from development. I'm sure you understand.

Okay, who knows, perhaps this base was already fixed, since you'd already gone over them.

Actually, the only reason I had pointed it out was because when you click on the square, the base isn't centered in the view like in all the other bases, but a little mousework will bring it into view.

And really, since I can still blow it up, doesn't matter at all. Heheh. (DIE, Insurgents, DIE!)

It wasn't one of the ones I fixed. Here is how to see which ones I fixed.

  1. Apply the 1.0.06 patch (if you haven't already)
  2. Copy PTE2PTEDEFS.INI to a temp folder
  3. Apply the 1.0.05 compliance patch
  4. Copy the PTE2PTEDEFS.INI to another temp folder
  5. Apply the 1.0.06 patch

Now, using a file compare tool, compare those two versions of the PTEDEFS.INI file and you will see which sites I fixed, how the digits were off etc etc. You will see that Earth's moon (moonp), was not one of them.

Hi SC, with this new patch there are two little things that had appeared: a CTD if there are intruders onboard when you switch to perscan.

And if you are in FP mode the fire rate of the weapons is increased dramatically: you can empty a clip in a second, its like the same problem xerxior has described.

I had not tried this with the 1.0.0.5 SP1 patch, only 1.0.0.6, and deinstalled, reinstalled BCM, and tried again, same result.

I need a saved game. Send it in. I had intruders in a game yesterday and monitored them in PerScan just fine.

No work has been done in fp mode recently, so I dunno why the weapons firing rate would be increased. Will check it out now. Perhaps it got broken when that grenade throw cheat was plugged. Last time I tried it, the weapons were fine.

If these two are confirmed, the 1.0.06 patch will be re-released with these fixes.

Hello all, my first post, excepting my Sig Test!

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem having patched to V1.0.06.

I've done a full re-install of BCM, patched the game to V1.0.06 and played for several hours doing a Save & Exit followed by a Resume directly after - no problems. Having made enough cash to upgrade my Megaron's Shields, Armour etc. I thought I'd go and look for trouble in Lennin and see how tough Pixan is now.

OK, now I've set the scene here's what happend. Upon jumping to Pixan the game CTD'd - a relativly rare occurance since V1.0.05 for me. So I rebooted and attempted a RESTORE (not Resume) to continue from my last save (just entered Lennin system from Lyrius). After clicking on my saved game then confirming with Accept odd things occured. No Restore commenced and the Cancel / Accept dialog remained on screen but my cursor highlighted the saved game boxes behind the dialog like it wasn't there, though clicking them did nothing. The Restore & Cancel buttons at the bottom of the screen would be highlighted by my cursor but didn't function. At this point I Alt-Tabbed out of BCM, killed it and rebooted. Same thing happened each time I tried to reload, even trying earlier saves had the same result. Oddly enough though just hitting Resume works fine and I can continue my Jump to Pixan (where I die quickly!). I've tried uninstalling BCM, re-installing, re-patching and copying in my backed up saves (all V1.0.06!) but the same thing always happens.

Bizarre eh? Any suggestions?

Remmber tho's bases which where in the wrong locations, theres one possibly more, in the instant action/extreme carnage universe on the moon satani.

I was trying to check out the new stations

quickly and happend to notic it.

Well, which one? Or do you just want to prolong the dialogue and waste my time?

And if your viewing the terrain of a planet in tacops while your cc is in space any ship that enters the regon doesnt get renderd.

Works perfectly fine here

steps to reproduce

start new game

open tacops view planet any base

wait for ships to enter regin

exit tacops

target one of the ships which just enterd the regin

press f10 to view the ship

Fratux thats a problem with your install I just tried it the station lookd fine I beleave you got a courpted or incomplete patch.

  1. Its a multi-national trader station

  2. It works fine here

  3. The NEXT person to report a problem related to the use of 1.0.05 compliance patch, is not going to get their posting rights withdrawn, they're going to get outright banned from the site.

If you were using the official SUPPORTED 1.0.06 patch, that station would have e.g. an armor rating of 32000. So obviously you are not.

I have run extensive tests on this and could not reproduce the problem. I even used Playmod (playmod create intruder 6) to create several intruders and PerScan works fine.

I was using the full 1.0.0.6 patch when i took this shot SC.

I had used the 1.0.0.5 rollback, for a while, then I re-installed the 1.0.0.6 patch and started a game from scratch following your directions in the VCF.

Also the ststion is damaged because I was firing at it [wanted to test the new defenses], and that is why the armour is low. Sorry that I did not mention that before, but I was focusing on the shape, and not the armour value. My bad.

Viewing intruders in Perscan also works fine here. Just dealt with 5 myself.

The patch is remarkable SC! I'm having a ball learning new trade routes to pay for those extra pricey OTS's now. Guess there's no more 'Walmart' prices on OTS's.

Just a further note on the odd problem I'm experiencing. It appears that I only get this problem if there is a game saved in slot 5 (which is underneath the Accept button in the Restore confirmation dialog). Clicking Accept just causes the slot 5 save "box" to be highlighted.

If I manually delete entries 5 onwards using Windows Explorer and I never save to those slots again and just use 0 to 4 everthing is fine.

Like I said, a bizarre problem - some weird quirk of my machine obviously as no-one else appears to have experienced this. Strange I had no probs under V1.0.05 though. At least I can keep playing just using those limited save slots.

That doesn't work either

I forgot to mention this before I started a new game as a ter/ins, friendly vel/mil ships keep attacking me? I have pictures of a vel/mil ship with SAD orders and my ships name under them, yes he was shooting at me to.

If you don't know how the alliances in the game work; go read about it.

I knew about this one for a while but since mp is comming I gues it be a good time to bring it up, this could possibly be used as an expliot to not use any radin.

land on a planet

give your cc the halt order

turn on auto pilot

turn your engine off in the hud and in logistix

now press 9 or any number key and your engine will turn back on with out actually turning back on its still off in logistix ala not consumeing power

Something similer is happening with the shielding this I cannot explane, but turn your shielding off via the hud and in logistix, after a couple hours it somehow turns back on and is also not consumeing power because its still off in logistix

Im only posting thes now because I beleave thes could be used to effectively cheat in multiplayer same for singleplayer.

Finally.

I had verified with v1.0 of BCM, to see if this was caused by my system, but not, it seeems to be a v1.0.0.6 issue.

SC,

There could be something to this Perscan/Intruders issue, I was just boarded in Pluto 2 minutes ago, Aestrom entered system, , CO informed me we had intruders, first I powered down launch control. Then hit Perscan (from the bridge view), and I was staring down my PC's wallpaper. Heheh.

Could be a fluke, but thought I'd mention it after seeing the above. I'd send a save, but my save is from prior to the Aestrom's entrance, so is rather useless.

Next time I get intruders, I'll save first just in case.

picture 1 shows the friendly emp/rai ship attacking me

picture 2 shows the same emp/rai ship attacking me

picture 3 shows the location of that starbase

picture 4 shows a ves/mil friendly ship attacking me

picture 5 shows a ship not being renderd and also attacking me

I thought the friendly ships attacking me was because of 1.0.0.6, it never happend before this patch.

same here. although i think my system might have bogged down and just said screw it, because mine also happened in pluto orbit, and there was a MAJOR battle taking place. i got word i was boarded, so i switched to perscan to see how many i had on board, and i could hear my system just slow down lol. then CTD. i reloaded a previous save game (position was Centris) entered pluto space again, this time there wasnt hide nor hair of an enemy ship. i know stuff happens randomly (battles, appearances etc.) so i wasnt surprised when i didnt get a CTD the second time i entered pluto space.

however, if you would like a gander at my save game IF it happens again, i would be more than happy to send it in.

as for possible HDD corruption causing the CTD, i doubt it but its still possible (anything is). i JUST bought a new 20gig WD 7200rpm HD before i reinstalled BCM and the patch. i partitioned it (1 primary DOS), formatted it, the ran scandisk JUST to be safe. but like i said, anything is possible.

What is the "real" adress to send it to ?

P.S: In the save folder there is a file with an *.sgd extension and a another with a *.sav extension: must i send these two files ?

I have updated the scripted position of the starbase object.

The others shots are of no interest to me. If the ship is not rendered - I suppose it never occured to you that it could be cloaked, huh?
