Like the Pre-requisite rant

Good write up with one exception;
quote:

...the good ol’ Mark 3 Battlecruiser from the original game. ...
There is no such thing as a Mark 3 Battlecruiser in BC3000AD.

C'mon Gallion, give the guy a break!! You obviously don't expect him to remember that the MK1 was only in BC3K, MK2 came in BC3K v2x and MK3 in BCM. At least he made a slight error, compared to you who screws up almost on a weekly basis over in the Beta forum.

sorry ehehe, i didnt mean it as harsh as it might have sounded. i really wanted you just to tell me what you meant not fly off the deepend!

i still dont understand though...in BCM the mark 3 looks exactly like the ship in bc3k, to me IT IS the ship...ok i think i got it....its just that the ship in bc3k wasn't referred to as the mark3, but only the mark 2 right?

Cruis.In, you are absolutely correct. Thanks for jogging my memory.

I changed the MK2 to the MK3 because Jason completely redesigned the MK1 and MK2 models. This completely killed the original design of the flagship. So, with threats of physically harm, I made him create, yet a third ship which looked like the original ship from BC3K. And when he was done, it became the MK3 because it was much easier than having to go back and rename all the models, textures etc, for the MK1 and MK2 which he had completed.

Also, this MK3 is the only ship in the game, with an internal docking bay. That was when I was mad enough to want to do manual docking in order to further add more complexity to the game. Besides, we wouldn't have had time for him to do all the carriers anyway due to their sheer number. So, in the end, only the MK3 and all the stations (except for New America) have internal docking bays.

So, to cut a long story short, Brian was correct.

Gallion, now apologise to Cruis.In

Not a bad bit of press at all. The guy really went through the motions and tackled a lot of things many other "reporters" wouldn't touch, ala the pay for beta thing.

Good writing!

Nice use of a limited number of accompanying screenshots CJ chose: created suspense, conveyed an understanding of the scope, gave momentum to the review (okay, maybe Tacops was a little dim)... but nice to see well-chosen visuals as part of the narrative, not clickable chads.

Mmmm, chronicles, mmmm...
I imagine he will have a well-bitten tongue while he writes about worlds on the other side of the NDA. Fine line, but he seems to be a solid professional. Looking forward to his next episode: this may become a tutorial of sorts.
