Ok i got the game a week ago and love it but got some questions. First of when your on a planet and want to got to a city how do you get there fast. A starship will get around 350m/s and even a shuttle that moves at 1499m/s it takes hours to get around. Is there something im missing. Also how do i find money i cant seem to find enough to keep my ship alive. Any help?

First off, let me say that this is a simulater, so getting around is going to take awhile and to get credits.

The way I get around on planet faster is to first break orbit, once in space I set waypoints to where I want to land. If you travel by ground, it will take hours to get to the next major city.

As for credits, mining is your friend. Land on a planet or load up a shuttle or two with probes. Once on a planet, either by carrier or shuttle, deploy mining probes and wait for them to collect resources. Once you have resources(after collecting your probes), sell the resources.

I hope that helps

For the moving around problem:

If you go into TACOPS (alt+s) you can set a waypoint for the CC or the shuttle while you're still in space. The great thing is that you can specifically target areas of interest on the planet by clicking on it in TACOPS and clicking on "observe". Then a screen will pop up that shows the various zones, who controls areas, etc... If you put a waypoint on or near one of the colored rectangles on the map that should put you close to at least one area of interest. Then it's just a matter of telling the CC to "Resume Waypoints" and putting it on autopilot. It'll probably still take a few minutes to reach the planet's atmosphere, but if you set the waypoint, it should enter the atmosphere mear that waypoint, which means a lot less flying through barren areas. So, once that's done you just sit back and wait for your CC or shuttle to enter the atmosphere, then jump back to the controls because it's taken off auto pilot after that and you could crash.

On the subject of money:

You can salvage cargo pods from destroyed ships, mine on planets/moons/etc... and sell whatever cargo/minerals you acquire by docking with a friendly or neutral station and selecting the TRADECOM computer once you're docked. Then you can just sell your stuff and buy cargo/minerals/etc... for yourself.

Hope that helps.

Another means of gaining finances would be to trade with the various stations.

The fastest way to get from one place to another on a planet, is usually to go out to space, set a Waypoint on the surface at the location that you want to go to, then have your craft "Resume Waypoints"

First thing you want to do is deploy your mining equipment, but it takes a while for the Miners to get going so in the mean time here's what I usually do to jump start my cash operation.

[*]1. Set your ship to escort Galcom HQ.

2. Go to Tactical, Crew and set your AE to go to Shuttle 1.

3. From Tactical go to Loadout and select SC1.

4. Transfer all your Spare Parts & Weapons into your shuttle.

5. Make sure your AE is in the Shuttle, launch and dock with Galcom HQ.

6. With your 75K you should be able to buy about 166 units of Plutonium.

7. Switch to Tacops, select Galcom HQ and add it to your priority list.

8. Leave Galcom and Jump at Jupiter.

9. From Jupiter Jump at the Sirius Sector and fly to the Wraith Station.

10. Sell everything at Wraith.

11. Exit Wraith Station and direct your shuttle to Fly to>Priority List>Galcom HQ.

12. Buy Weapons, Solar Panels, Plutonium, Iridium, as much as you can fit/afford and keep on trading.

13. Eventually you will need to go back to Galcom to restock everything that you sold in the first place.

I do this at the beginning of every game and within an hour or so, trading the right parts and weapons, I'll end up with well over 40 Million credits.

The BEST way yo get cash is simple.

1. take your CC to Majoris and land

2. take your shuttle to sarien

3. Buy hull plates take them to majora

4. sell plates at majora

5. repeat until you have ten mill

6. go to saron buy trellis

7. sell at majora

8. repeat until you can't fit any more in the shuttle

9. continue trading until you have 80 mil

10. pick up 50 missles, radine, plutonium and plutonium

11. use the trellis trade route with you CC until you have all the cash you want

This is the best route i know about. the trip, Saron to Majora, if you have trellis will turn in about 10 mil or more

Commanderlb's Trade route is great. My Battlecruiser Mark III was upgraded to the teets in under an hour. Anytime I need some quick cash for repairs or fuel, I do that route.

I started playing as a Gammulan the other day. So I had to find another trade route. Commanderlb's trade route is great for ter/mil's. Not so great for Gam/mil's. So I searched the Gammulan quadrant last night in a shuttle for a sweet trade route. Best I came up with is:

Trade route between, Cyron VI in the Cyron Star system and Otura-6 in the Omega Centauri. Buy low at CyronVI, Sell High at Otura-6. This trade route isnt as good as Commanderlb's route, but it is probably the best Gam/mil trade route. I usually stock up on Illegal items, armor plates, and Trellis'.

I don't believe there are any enemy star stations along this grueling 5 jump trade route. So it should be ez for maiden voyages. =P
