I got 2 questions - one is related to main campaign and the other - to 3000AD new product announcement.

1. Still about main campaign, many people enjoyed it, I kinda too, but first attempt ended for me pretty quick with congratulations note. I am going to go through main campaign again and am curious about next things:

a) is there any hidden fee... oh excuse me, rl habbit - time limit for this main campaign (not roam)?

B) can I prepare myself for this mission, as follows - create stronger fleet, build more ships, mine resources, in a nutshell prepare myself to make a "trip" through all systems easier which supposed to help keep all 4 delegates safe?

c) after I compleate main campaign is there a reason to continue the game which will switch to roam mode automatically? If there is, name it please?

Meaning - since i will have pretty much of exp, high commander rank, medals, shields and stuff after compleation is there a point to conitnue this main scenario or I should switch to roam campaigns since this main big one is done?

And as an addition to point B, can I during this main campaign do anything else possible - mine, build ships, capture stations and so on OR I should follow the orders and rush directly to LV-103 to get there in time?

2. Quoting following:

"Taking place in a much smaller world (two space regions and four planets to be exact)..."

"...featuring 64 player multiplayer deathmatch and base capture game modes. The single player game features a single campaign between the Terran military player and insurgent counterparts with 3000ADÔÇÖs advanced AI engines providing cutting edge tactical engagements..."

Does it mean that UCE2E will be more multiplayer oriented game then single player version?

For sure this short version of UC with advanced graphics and features will add a lot of fun for BC series fans, but does it mean that those 2 space regions and few planets will be some kind of preparation for a massive multiplayer worlds? In any way no matter how it is we still have UC which is fan and very interesting. And I bet UCE2E will kick mayor ass .

  1. Look at the VDD/ACM tab
  2. No. Thats why you have to meet up with certain fleets along the way.
  3. Yeah, you will have a fleet to command. Assuming they all made it. Also the station where the diplomats dock will send out a new fleet for you. Read my previous posts about ranks, medals etc. Once you complete the campaign, you can do what you like - just like in ROAM.

UCE2E is not a Battlecruiser game. So yes, it is smaller, much, much smaller.

SC please don't take it as an argument , but UC along with very interesting and wide variations of things to do differes from other games also with quite unique main Campaign. I always liked campaigns because they allow you to obtain game features little by little (which also makes learning ladder not so steap ). It's like first mission you get few units without being able to produce anything, then as game produces further you gain new abilities and opportunities, and so on and etc...

In UC case you get a few cruisers fleet and a goal to achieve. I would rather call this campaign exploration mission, because it lets you familirize yourself almost with the entire galaxy of UC, learn how to pilot carriers, shuttles, fighters familirizes you with game interface some but still the main idea is go from point A to point B, meet some guys then escort them to point C managing to keep your and their ships safe. I also understand that the game of this scope takes a lot of time to create and polish and leaves not much time for the main scripts...

Game is VERY GOOD, interesting, full of choices and wide opportunities. But main problem why some people complain that it's very hard to understand, I think because there is no main big campaign which in most other games let's you "learn" the game by playing main campaign which have few missions and reveals game features in steps. I believe that would help many people to understand how good this game really is and how interesting is to play it after you learned everything about it. I think that's why most of the games have this kind of Campaigns.

Do you plan to create scripts for another main campaigns? Or will it be able to MOD the game in the future with additional MODding tools?

Thanks.

btw, did you join up with the two Empirian ships? They later cloak for the duration of the mission.

OHHH!! so THATS where they dissappeared to! It got really annoying hearing "DISTORTION FIELD DETECTED" everywhere I went. Except, here is something, one time, I had saved my game, and after I loaded, I could detect them! Then I went to TacOps, and they disappeared! Then went back to bridge, and couldn't detect them anymore. Then I loaded my game, and same thing, waited five minutes, and the moment I went to TacOps, they vanished again! (still have saved game if you want to investigate)

One more thing, I can't get ships to be put in the "recently ordered" list unless they are clicked on in TacOps. Should they also be added when I give them an order from the command menu?

There's nothing to investigate. The cloak status is not saved in the saved game. So when you restore, the system notices that something needs to be cloaked, it will re-cloak it.

ACM is cool, especially fleet C&C. There I was despeartely trying to keep my three dumb escorts, Vanguard, Hellguard and the other one (can't remember, Starguard?) from dying. Constantly repeating the order to escort me, as each new threat had them tearing at their leashes. As I neared the jump to Otura-9 my system goes red! Sentry, Solnar, Aestrom, and Megaron all make a beeline for me. No time to jump, ordered my escorts to jump out as I didn't trust them to not get killed. Took on the two carriers and the two cruisers with associated fighters, knocked em out one by one as they left hyperspace. The escorts are gone, don't notice whether they were destroyed or jumped as ordered. But what's this a lonely MK3 Battlecruiser - a friendly nice and green. But not only is it green, its Ter Mil !! So guess what Fleet C&C works that ship is now mine!

Order it to escort me and we jump to the next system. I pick the new ACM escorts Rabid-one and Two and notice two of my previous escorts making for the space station AVINO. The Vanguard Escort has gone, don't know whether it made it to the station or was destroyed. But I order the two old escorts to resume escorting me - whcih they do and so I know have five ships escorting me having picked up a nice shiny MK3 Battlecruiser to add to the collection!

Whey Hey! Fleet C&C rules - now must pick up my Roam campaign where I left it off and go destroy a few stations and get Fleet C&C.

This game gets better every time!

The Distortion Field comes from the two GAMMULAN ships you picked up in LV-103 they are cloaked and are randomly transporting invaders onto your ship to destroy your systems. the way that you deal with these ships is when you jump into the system you will have to be fast and sometimes when you restart from a saved game. So what you do is target the ships as fast as you can before they cloak and then add them to your priority list by hitting the 'P' key. After you add them you can re-target them by hitting the Tab key and cycling through to the target you want. you can then fly in the direction that your target designator line indicates and when your range finder tells you that you are close to the target you just open up in the general direction until you see the impact of your weapons fire on the shields of the other craft. and you get a bunch of points for destroying the two ships. I also added the two Empirian ships so that I knew where they were.
