Terran Marine Report post Posted October 19, 2006 Anyone gonna buy it? I preordered my copy already. The first one was a major sucess partly to due to the fact players could create their own peristant worlds which was almost like a mini MMORPG. I played a PW called City of Arabel for almost 4 and half years. Check out the official site for more details.

Case Report post Posted October 20, 2006 Ditto, I have played around a little with the pre-release toolset, and it is pretty impressive. Search around on the NWN2 forums to see what some people have already created with the toolset, it's quite nice.

Case Report post Posted October 21, 2006 There is a Chaotic Evil and a Lawful Good version. It sounds like you have a lot more control over you party members this time around.

I have forums up for the new one, although not much to view if you aren't on the dev team. There are about 10 hidden forums. http://s4.invisionfree.com/Athkatla_Forums/ I'm "VictorDC" there. Anyone who registers and wants to view inside let me know.

Mordax Blyrr Report post Posted November 2, 2006 Hey $ilk, your inbox is full for PM's.
Case Report post Posted November 3, 2006 I just picked it up today. Only had time to get it installed and play for about 5 minutes with a pre-created character. Looks nice, seems to run fine on my rig. I probably won't have much time for a bit to give it a real evaluation, but I found this thread. http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewt...06398&forum=
Mordax Blyrr Report post Posted November 3, 2006 Many are complaining about the UI right now. I do agree that its a little awkward and in battles you tend to fire things off at the wrong character, but I also think its a matter of adaptation. Thing is, you can right-click on a character to select it, but if you cast a spell it will autocast on your target and does not give you a targeting cursor first. So, if you want to heal you party for example, you have to target the one, heal him/her, target the other do it again otherwise you will heal the same person twice. While this right clicking to select function works well in other instances (you can open a dropdown menu with action while holding rightclick a bit longer) in combat it seems counter intuitive. Anyway a lot of whiners as expected with a release. Give it a few weeks and you'll remain with the players who do enjoy the game. I already do.
ShoHashi Report post Posted November 3, 2006 Case, is your System Profile information correct? Did you let NWN2 automatically pick your graphic options? -Sho [ 11-03-2006, 11:36 AM: Message edited by: ShoHashi ]
Case Report post Posted November 4, 2006 Hey Sho, Ya, my system specs in my profile are up to date, so, as you can see, I don't have a very high-end PC right now. I probably won't upgrade until sometime next year. Here are the settings it autodetected for me: http://www.rowlinson.ca/images/nwngraphics.gif I update the shadows from none to low, and the texture res from low to medium. I will test some more and see how this works for me.
Mordax Blyrr Report post Posted November 4, 2006 Tip: Biggest influence on frames per second are the shadow setting (low or off don't really make a difference, but medium and full do) and water reflection. Set these respectively to LOW (and turn soft shadows OFF as well) and OFF and you should get very decent framrates with other settings maxed.

I probably won't upgrade until sometime next year.I'm sort of in the same position as you and have virtually the same set up as you except the extra gig of memory. I'm having to run it at low across the board. It's playable, but not as nice looking as having the textures turned on. I guess what I'm wondering is, if I get one more stick of 1 gig memory if it'll make more of a difference? Or just wait and upgrade my mobo and processor. -Sho
Case Report post Posted November 5, 2006 I doubt the extra gig will allow you to play at higher settings. I am probably lowering my shadows back to none. Last night I played outdoors for a bit and it was a bit slow. I am ok with playing it on low settings for now, and I will crank everything up later after an upgrade. This is a game that should likely be on my hard drive for a long time (assuming there is as much user created content as NWN1).
Guest $iLk Report post Posted November 6, 2006 Okay, this is a map of what I have so far in the Docks District: http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/610/doc...trictmapub9.jpg
Mordax Blyrr Report post Posted November 12, 2006 And how are we coming along in-game? I had a hard time getting even into the Back Alley. The first mob kept kicking my lights out. A bit of reshuffling with Elanee's spells and stocking up on health potions for Khelgar and me did the trick. I am now wandering in the warehouse, kicking butts and steal... err taking some minor equipment... all for the good cause, of course.
Case Report post Posted November 12, 2006 I am currently not very far along as I have had problems with the 'unable to save, disk space low, bug'. I think I have it sorted out now and should start to make some progress as I am only at the 'Weeping Inn'? Cheers! p.s. $ilk, I look forward to roaming around your PW once it is done (or released to the public). The image posted is looking good. Do you have any screenshots in-game, or in-toolset of your areas?
Guest $iLk Report post Posted November 13, 2006 On the forum: http://s4.invisionfree.com/Athkatla_Forums/ Register, let me know it is you and I will give you access to the dev areas so you can see screens as they are posted. I can even give you a look around what is completed here and there.
Kalshion Report post Posted November 13, 2006 Not bad Silk, Not bad at all. I plan on working on my own mod after I beat the game, got something in mind that I want to try Either way, while I love this game, I really don't like the AI... could REALLY use an improvement (your companions sometimes stand around for ten seconds before realizing that you are being attacked..)
