This patch requires the April 2006 (or later) DirectX runtime


Use the game Updater to download and apply the patch.

The online VCF has also been updated.


NOTES:

If you use the game's Updater, the process will go like this:

  • If you have any version lower than 1.00.07, it will download the 1.00.07 update first. After applying this, you need to run Updater again so that it can download the incremental update to the latest version. You will have to run the Update multiple times to get all the updates to the latest version.
  • If you already have 1.00.07 or higher installed, it will download only the incremental update to the latest version.

If you don't want to use the Updater, then you have to check one of the public mirrors for a link to the full patch; which you should then copy into the game's folder and execute from there.

Though this latest patch contains a new SETTINGS.INI file, if the Updater downloads the patch but it doesn't run or you discover that it didn't patch, you may need to edit the SETTINGS.INI file in Notepad and make the following changes :

  • version=1.00.13 to version=1.00.12 (or change this to whatever the previous version was)
  • location=. to location=%updater%

Then save the file and run the Updater again.


WARNING: DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE PUBLIC PATCHES AVAILABLE ON DOWNLOAD MIRRORS IF YOU HAVE THE DOWNLOAD (e.g. DIRECT2DRIVE) VERSION OF THE GAME!! USE THE UPDATER INSTEAD. ONCE THE PUBLISHERS MAKE THEIR VERSIONS OF THE PATCH AVAILABLE, THE UPDATER WILL DOWNLOAD THEM. THE TIMETABLE FOR THOSE PATCH RELEASES IS UP TO THE PUBLISHER DUE TO HOW THEIR PROTECTION SYSTEM WORKS.

Hey SC,

I have the Direct2Drive version.

The updater isn't seeing a .15 version. I even rolled back the .ini file to .13 and it says the latest is .14

It never did occur to you that it hasn't been released yet? Don't you already know that I have to wait for IGN to send me the protected files before I can build the patch for the D2D version? Do you think they - like me - work weekends?

C'mon now. If the D2D version is not updating, common sense should dictate that, well, its not available. Apart from the fact that the D2D version ALWAYS takes up to a week to be available.

Sorry about that,

I think I got spoiled during the .14 troubleshooting process and you were firing out daily (sometimes hourly) patch revisions.

Anyways, I will just keep an eye one the updater over the next week.

heh, yeah.

Anyway that issue with the D2D patch is on their end. So, if it appears again in the next patch, then they'll have to sort it out.

When the patch is uploaded, I'll post about it. It should be sometime in mid week hopefully.

I'm getting the 'floating point not loaded' error again with mp. sp starts fine.

aw fer crissakes. I didn't do ANYTHING in this build which would be causing that. Let me recompile the whole thing and see what gives.

The D2D version is online (via the game Updater). Can someone test it to make sure that it doesn't have the previous floating point error issue?

Looks good here,

I was able to load up an Instant Action scenario no problem.

The non-D2D patch has been re-released. You only need it if you were having a problem with floating point error on AMD processors.
