Supreme Cmdr
For almost two days, we've been experiencing an outtage. First they said it was a router problem. Now it seems to be worse than that. So if you have been having problems accessing the site, thats the problem. Things should hopefully return to normal after the move. Valued Aplus.Net Client, As you may be aware, we have been experiencing severe packet loss in our PHX-1 data center in Phoenix, where you have one or more servers. Regrettably, the situation continues to worsen despite round-the-clock efforts by our engineers as well as those from our providers. As a result, we are taking the steps to begin moving clients into our new state-of-the-art datacenter in Phoenix, located less than 5 miles from our PHX-1 data center. We will commence moving clients at 10:00 am Central time on Saturday, December 1. Regrettably, we were not planning on migrating to our new facility until mid-December. As such, we apologize that we were not able to provide you with more notice than this of the move, but we feel it is imperative to move enough of our clients now so as to lessen the congestion at our current facility. We will utilize best efforts to notify you in advance with a precise timeframe of when your server(s) will move, but due to the urgency of this situation, we cannot guarantee that we will reach you. As such, we ask that you immediately provide us with a current root or administrator level password so that when we do need to take your server down for its move we can do so safely. We will make every effort to gracefully power down your server when it is time to move, and minimize the downtime to the best of our ability. Again, we apologize for the issues you may be experiencing. We ask you to please rest assured that our engineers are working around-the-clock to mitigate these disruptions, and that we expect to return service to our normal levels very soon. Quazar
What's a little blink in site service? If Aplus.Net takes too long -ing your box to its new data center, I'm sure you'll them real fast and take your business someplace else. We'll be right behind you too, Boss. But seriously, I think the move will go fine. We know you'll take care of it.
Supreme Cmdr
Looks like they're moving our servers this week. So expect some intermittent service during the next few days. [APLUS.NET] URGENT MAINTENANCE WINDOW NOTIFICATION Wed, 05 Dec 2007 16:53:53 -0800 Dear Aplus.Net Dedicated Server Customer: This email is to inform you of an urgent maintenance window affecting your Aplus.Net dedicated server. Between 10pm and 6am Eastern Time (9pm through 5am Central Time; 8pm through 4am Mountain Time; 7pm through 3am Pacific Time), your server will experience intermittent downtimes as we transition hardware to our new, primary, state-of-the-art data center. Though this maintenance window is a full 8-hour period, your server will certainly not be down that whole time and will only experience intermittent downtimes, although one will be for approximately 90 minutes. However, it's best to expect limited access to your server during this period. Please note: It's extremely important that you update your root or administrator password by logging in to your account before your scheduled maintenance window. If you fail to do so, we may be unable to safely shut down your system, resulting in possible loss of data. During your maintenance window, you'll still be able to check the status of your server on your control panel at cp.aplus.net. Once your server has been fully relocated you can experience a higher level of service due to a better facility and more diversified group of bandwidth providers. We hope that you'll accept our apologies for this brief period of service outage, and we look forward to continuing to provide you with the best in dedicated hosting services in our new facility for many years to come. As always, thanks for being an Aplus.Net customer. Best Regards, Ryan Elledge Chief Operating Officer APlus.Net Internet Services
Supreme Cmdr
We are upgrading the web server and our other servers (auth, multiplayer etc) this weekend and during the week. We expect everything to be sorted out by next Monday. So if you see anything wonky, thats why. James has also completely redesigned the main 3000ad.com site (like the recent dereksmart.org, allaspectwarfare.com ones) and should be online around the middle of March and on the new servers. Wolferz
I bet they didn't offer any compensation for their problems. Did they? You probably received the bill shortly after the outage notification. holes!
