Darkling Report post Posted July 10, 2008 Why aren't these guys going absolutely nuts over this. Don't they realize how much America is hurting over these Gas prices. What will it take to make them wake up! :santasliegh:What's worse is that The Democrats Appropriations chief David Obey, AGAIN, shuts down the appropriations process to keep drilling from a vote. When are Americans going to be outraged over this??? scrapilot Report post Posted July 11, 2008 I am rather confused about drilling being the answer. Drilling will add a few percent to the supply, which will take years to take effect. Why not do something that will make a difference in the present? How about taking oil off of the commodities exchange, which makes oil go up and down based on psychology, which is like what happens in the stock market. Then oil will be based on supply and demand, which some say would bring oil down to $80-$100 per barrel.
DennyMala Report post Posted July 11, 2008 I'm italian so I'll not enter in this discussion as I don't know exactly your reality over there, but let me tell you only one thing..... we pay almost 1.5 Ç (euro) for each liter of gasoil or gas at the pump. That make 2.36 $ dollar, for a total of 8.94 $ for every gallon. Just for your information. On gas prices you're pretty luky in USA....believe me.

And I read in an newspaper (" O Kosmos tou Ependyth - Investor's Wold" , 12 of July 2008), that the profits of oil producing nations, from the day that the price of oil started to rise, reached nearly 600 billion $ , and another 50 billion $, went to various trust funds.
