Suggestion for multiplay security.

First off I have NO idea how this would be implemented as I am not a programmer.

My suggestion is this. To protect the gameplay and security of online play it should be the server side of the client that holds all the pertinant data concerning a players ship/info/stats. This has worked very well with many online games. Case in point: SHOGO M.A.D It is impossible to import any "rouge" mods into the game while playing online, as the Server holds all the data for the player/world. It would be a shame to see BC3020AD turn into another PK infested online game such as U.O.
