Yes in Free flight everything works fine. I did try it out and played well past the 40 mins in ACM were I cannot save. Saving and restoring works fine in free flight. i have had a few E-mails from others with a similar (the same) problem.

Well nothing seems to work. The game just won`t let me save after the first mission of the first ACM. Maybe I need more Memory! Nothing I do in the config.sys (the correct one) has any effect on my free memory! Thanks for the Ideas.

The save file is in the BC3k directory - it is the one set up by the install. My Autoexec.bat in C: is below rem:+ C:SDDunivibe32.exe -w This has something to do with Scitech Display Doctor. I will put the config.sys file in windows back the way it was and see what happens. Thanks for the patience.

That was the file in c:windowscommand...etc This is the one windows set up when it was installed! What it all means i have no idea? The config.sys in the root c: reads exactly like it says in the FAQ. I maybe completely dense. But i have two config.sys files. To find them both I went to the FIND tool on the start menu. I feel reluctant to change the C:WindowsCommand one as i do not understand what all the commands and such actually do. DO I need all that stuff in this file? I do not know? I have also tried using the Voodo 2 drivers on the CD-Rom and putting them in the BC3K directory. Still no joy. What is wierd is the game will run perfectly fine up until a certain point in game time were after if I try and save the game it kicks me out with the General Protection Fault.

Guess what? I doesn`t work still. i loaded up and continued to play, 15 mins before the first mission was supposed to end I saved the game and it kicked me out with the protection fault! What is going on here? I am running windows 98 - is this the problem? Which config.sys file do you alter? Maybe I am changing the wrong one. working so far!! Heres what I did.... 1. Changed DPMI to 327958 (as per reply) 2. Checked around some more on the board and followed this advice... Files=90 buffers=8 FCBSHIGH=8 (what it does I have no idea) 3. Cleared save games, joystick file, setup. 4. Started a new game. 5. ACM mission 1- watched Diplomat1 dock. 6. Docked myself an bought Radine (That stuff goes quick!!!) 7. Launched and then saved. 8. instead of dumping me out with the fault I went back to the menu screen as per normal. That and typing this is all i had time for.. I hope thats the last of the problem.... but you never know... Thanks to everyone who posted a reply here and elsewhere!!!!!

Tried the DPMI and it still did not work!! It seems i can save the game any point up to the diplomat ship docking. After that if i try to save I get the general Protection Fault. The Game runs fine up until the point I save!! I have un-installed and re-installed - no luck! Un-installed, re-installed added v2.09 preview -- No Luck! Someone, anyone, please help! I really want ot get into this game!!

Ver 2.08 UK In the first ACM mission when i get to Majoris and attempt to save the game, it always kicks me out! I have read many posts on the subject but nothing so far has helped! I get the General Protection fault 2001 I have 601k free when i try MEM in a DOS window. I have put in the config.sys lines as it states in the FAQ. I tried the Scitech Display Doctor - - it made it worse!! (The colours went wierd) I have deleted and re-installed. Refresh rates match up between 2D and 3D. I have the glide2x.ovl in C:Windows. Can Anyone help?!?! System: AMD k6-2 450 32 meg ram ATi MAch 64 voodo2 3dFX Soundblaster 16 Internal V.90 modem Heres hoping!
